"Come on, Master Wayne, married couples can also be comrades-in-arms," Alfred remarked, before Bruce Wayne interrupted him.
"That's enough, Alfred. Stop talking about it. Now, how's the Anywhere Door coming along?" Bruce immediately changed the subject.
He had been busy dealing with humanoid creatures these past days and had no time to install the Anywhere Door himself, so he left it to Alfred.
"It's almost done. All that's left is to upload the map data," Alfred replied, wiping some sweat as he looked at the pink door in front of him. No one would have thought this ordinary-looking door was a high-tech device capable of crossing space.
On closer inspection, Alfred seemed a few years younger. His once white hair was now black, and while his face still showed some age, he looked more vigorous and resolute.
This was thanks to a gift from Doraemon, who gave Alfred an age-reversing potion, making him twenty years younger. Alfred was overjoyed with the effect—anyone would relish the chance to turn back the clock, especially since his job involved supporting Bruce Wayne's nightly crime-fighting escapades. Alfred now appeared to be around forty-five, despite his ID saying he was sixty-five.
"Alright, Master Wayne, which coordinates should we input first? Perhaps Ms. Diana's home?" Alfred suggested, reading from the manual and looking at the computer.
"Don't mess around with it. I'll set it up myself when I get back."
Bruce decided to handle the data entry himself, wary of what Alfred might do.
"Very well, sir," Alfred replied, sounding slightly disappointed.
"Oh, and Lucius contacted me earlier regarding the Kamen Rider project. He's assembled multiple teams—nanotechnology, compact energy systems, exoskeleton engineering, advanced materials, and various high-tech teams. For Kamen Rider armor that can jump, withstand heavy impacts, and punch through tanks, each of these fields must yield breakthroughs and then be integrated."
"The estimated research funding alone is at least two billion dollars per year, and the board is starting to question why they weren't consulted about forming so many teams," Alfred reported on the Kamen Rider project's progress.
Bruce had not given up on this project, seeing it as crucial for future development.
"I'll convince them. Two billion dollars a year is nothing. Once we see results, the market returns will be tremendous."
Money was no object for Bruce, and two billion dollars was as insignificant as pocket change to him.
"I'll also send Lucius the technology insights from the yellow power ring to help reduce their obstacles," Bruce added, glancing at the yellow ring. It wasn't just a combat tool; it held knowledge of advanced technologies he had never encountered.
To most scientists, the knowledge would be incomprehensible, but fortunately, the ring's translation abilities made it clear to Bruce.
"If the Anywhere Door is successfully created, should we consider mass-producing it for sale? It would revolutionize the transportation industry," Alfred asked.
"Not for now. This kind of technology isn't suitable for the public," Bruce replied, then glanced at the Darkwing Bat, which had just finished eating all the humanoid creatures and their eggs and was now rubbing its belly in satisfaction.
"I have to go; I've got more work to do," Bruce ended the call and continued his mission to eliminate the humanoid creatures.
Meanwhile, Ryner was chatting with Daisy and the others about astronomy, occasionally nudging Thor to share his insights as an alien, hoping to pull him out of his drunken stupor.
Hearing the system's reward notification, Ryner's eyes gleamed, anticipating the new abilities.
The system listed the abilities:
Infinite Space Creation: Transform a 500-meter area into an inescapable infinite space, which ends when Ryner's energy is depleted.
Thought Perception of Vision Beast: Sense brainwaves within a ten-meter radius and selectively read thoughts.
Dream Killer's Invisibility: An advanced stealth ability that renders Ryner undetectable unless someone has night vision, and allows him to see invisible beings.
Sky Jellyfish Wind Power: Release powerful gusts of wind, capable of generating tornadoes.
Reproduction Ability of Humanoid Creatures: Enhanced physical endurance.
"Wait! What's with the last reward!" Ryner almost swore out loud. Why did it have to include a trait related to… physical endurance?
He found it amusing yet practical, considering that no man wanted to be found lacking in that department.
Looking over his new abilities, Ryner was pleased. Reading brainwaves could give him insight into others' thoughts, helping him anticipate potential threats. As for invisibility… he couldn't help but imagine the mischievous possibilities.
He glanced over at the beautiful Daisy and Foster, briefly entertaining a vision of them in… compromising situations.
"No, no! They're my friends. I shouldn't think that way. God, grant me peace," Ryner muttered to himself, shaking off the impure thoughts.
Curious, Ryner subtly activated his brainwave-reading ability to see what everyone was thinking.
As expected, the three scientists were focused on complex astronomical discussions.
Thor, despite his responses, was actually thinking about which ale tasted best. The Asgardian prince had indeed been hit hard.
"My foolish brother, I never thought you'd fall to this level," came a voice from someone who didn't belong to the group, instantly putting Ryner on high alert.
He looked around, spotting a man in a black robe with a sword at his waist who had somehow appeared without anyone noticing.
Realizing it was Loki, who had used stealth to enter, Ryner understood that only someone with a similar invisibility skill, like himself, could perceive him.
As Ryner locked eyes with Loki, the god of mischief noticed him as well.
