In to the rabbit hole

"Pick your dagger up."

Aapep said as they reached the limit that Nolamine was able to be in the presence of Aapep for. The dagger was still on the pool's floor not that far from where he was.

He started going to it but Aapep stopped him.

"That was your mother's soul weapon. As you have her eyes and devoured her wand, you do not have to go pick it up. Just concentrate on your link to it and it will come to you."

Aapep said.

He did as told and tried to find his link to it. After a while, he could feel a thread, almost like a string as light as a web connecting it to his left hand. He focused on it but nothing happened.

He focused harder and the dagger moved a little.

"I guess some things still need time to get used to."

Aapep said.

"You can pick it up but you shall need to practice your connection to it. It will be the same with the Devourer of Realms when you get hold of it."

Nolamine picked it up and as soon as it touched his hand, it vanished into his body. He looked to Aapep for an answer.

"A soul weapon is like an extension of your wand as a Wizard warrior. Just like your wand, it can be housed inside your body. Which is why many Wizard warriors are feared as assassins."

Aapep explained. Nolamine was excited about the ability and he showed it through his face, his teenage nature getting the better of him. He stopped when he looked at his side. Seeing the black sheath that they had made for him to put his dagger in, he could not help but feel sorry for them having to go through the trouble.

"Now, before you go, it is time to give you my gift, and thus, even though we are connected by your bloodline, with this, we will be connected as companions and once you have gained the power needed, I will be able to finally leave this cave after thousands of years."

Aapep said, and Nolamine was starting to feel like a spoilt child receiving gift after gift.

"I feel your feelings, but do not be fooled. I will say it again, you are weak. My gift might be the only power that sets you apart from the rest of the Nobles that have just gotten their first abilities."

"Ouch."

Nolamine said. Feeling the sarcasm in the words.

A claw as large as an SUV poked out from the cave, it's front as sharp as a razor. It was all black but looked like steel. It stopped in front of Nolamine's forehead and then a black light, as dark as the creature that had wanted to come out from him but as small as a raindrop came out from the tip of the claw and in an instant, it went into Nolamine.

He felt like his head had been hit by a truck. His body started vibrating and the water parted from him. He then vibrated so much that he started to split into two as he formed an afterimage of himself.

He stopped after some seconds and the water rushed in around him, enveloping him again.

He had a splitting headache and his whole body was still vibrating.

"What, what...."

He could not form words.

"Wait for a minute and try to get hold of yourself."

Aapep said.

Nolamine could not hear him. He felt like vomiting but couldn't. He felt his head starting to spin, but then he got his bearings again. He felt his skin itch like crazy but it stopped in an instant. The minute was up.

His mind calmed down but the headache was still there. Two rings and a green potion floated over to him. Seeing the green potion, his eyes parked up.

He went straight for it and gulped it down. The headache stopped but did not go away.

"Those are what your mother and father left you."

Aapep said, referring to the rings.

"What the hell!"

Nolamine yelled. He wanted him to explain what he had just done to him.

"The light blue one is from your mother and has some of the things you will need on your journey. The black one is from the person who put me here."

Aapep said with disgust.

Nolamine was still looking at him to explain himself. That was when the headache stopped and he felt like himself again.

He took the two rings but they seemed too big for his fingers. The blue one had a similar design to his mother's wand. It was light blue, almost translucent, and had a dragon coiling around it.

The black one looked like Martyr. It had black dragon-like scales that had black smoke continually leaving it. He thought only an evil bastard would want to wear such a thing.

"Time is almost up."

Aapep said as Nolamine was looking at the rings.

"I gave you one of my abilities which I can never obtain again even if I trained for another lifetime in it."

He said and Nolamine was surprised by his statement.

"Vibration manipulation."

He said, and Nolamine's eyes went wide.

"Either it was you or your father, this was the ability I was meant to pass to you. It is the ability that made it possible to talk to the villagers by using the tree, together with the ripples in the water which carried you ashore. It is the same ability that sent you to the surface using boulders, a high-level skill but just a ripple in what it can do. But, do not be fooled, for it has one purpose; destruction."

Nolamine was like a kid in a candy store. Such an ability was making him salivate. By the waterfall, the tree that he had seen Mi-sun and the Grand Witch talk to had broken down like it was in a grinder together with the rocks around it.

"You will find its applications in the Chaos ring.

Nolamine looked at the dark ring and knew that he was talking about it. He wanted to ask a question but Aapep stopped him.

"Just put them on and just like what you did with your eyes, concentrate on them."

Nolamine nodded and blood came out of his nose. He knew right then that his time with Aapep was over.

"It seems that it is time for you to start your journey. Do not die before you can summon me out of this cave and I can wreck havoc onto the worlds again or I shall resurrect you and chew you for all eternity."

Nolamine gulped and his mouth went dry thereafter. He was sure that that was a threat and not words of encouragement. He just slowly nodded his head as he looked down, not wanting to meet with Aapep's eyes. He squeezed his butt and really hoped he did not die as he imagined being chewed by human-sized teeth for eternity.

"When you want to come back to Earth by using my door, you must wait for this month of the year to do so. You must come to the waterfall and dive to the bottom of it, then call out my whole name, and I shall answer."

Nolamine nodded.

"Prepare yourself."

Aapep said. Nolamine took the bag and map that had been floating nearby and put the map inside it then put the bag on his back. He stood upright and looked at the sky. He then looked at the two rings and tried his mother's on.

It shrank in size and fitted him perfectly. After the surprise, he did the same with the Chaos ring but with his guard up. He did not want to be possessed by such an evil-looking ring.

It also shrank in size but then disappeared. He had put his mother's ring in his left hand and the Chaos ring in his right.

He was surprised to see it disappear in plain sight and looked to his left hand and saw that his mother's ring had disappeared too.

He sighed and just thought that since Aapep was saying nothing, then it meant that they were meant to do that.

He took a long breath then exhaled like he was breathing Earth's air for the last time.

As soon as he exhaled, a hole by the side of Aapep's cave opened up and like a vacuum, he and the bones around him got sucked into it.

"Be careful, the scarlet moon is near."

Aapep said suddenly.

"Huh?"

Nolamine was focused on the hole that he was being sucked into and could not hear him. When he reached it, he thought it looked like a rabbit hole. He embraced himself as he disappeared into it.

Son-join, Mi-sun, the Grand Witch, and Nala all looked to the waterfall when he disappeared into the hole.

It was like they could feel that his presence was no longer on Earth.
