Marriage Contract with a Werefox Prince

"First of all, Mr Saverio I never signed a marriage deal with you. Second, you are my boss and third, you make me cringe!" His brows raised, "Cringe, how?" "Ever since the day I met you, I knew you are the one. How does that sound? Moreover, I do not believe getting married would decrease our possibility of dying." "So you agree with me that those lines are cringe, right? I wonder what those writers were thinking when they wrote them. But I had no choice." Eva couldn't believe her ears. So her boss had to surf through the net to propose to her? Wow, she must be Alice and he must be Johnny Bravo. He clicked his tongue calling her attention before walking towards her. Eva walked backwards and he proceeded until her back hit the wall. He leaned closer, "It's a myth, it's okay if you find it hard to believe, however, aren't you quite tired of the pain you derive when I'm far away?" She swallowed. It is true, whenever he is near her, the pain disappears, however her body begins to heat up whenever he isn't nearby. They were both cursed and the only way to get through is to remain close. This sounded like a typical drama. "Fine. I will sign the deal but on one condition." A smirk came across his lips as he replied, "How many times do I have to say you already signed it?" He paused, his dark blue eyes staring into her ocean blue ones, "Meaning, there are no conditions. The only condition you need to abide is mine." ××× Eva Lee, a young woman lived a free life, however after an incident that took her father's life, she turns into a woman seeking revenge. Law Formulating

It was in the evening.

The house had become boring since all they had to do was just stay at home, eat, watch the news and sleep the entire day. Eva had thought about writing another application to another company.

She stared at the blank TV, "I don't think I would ever work at Aweseong Corporation."

Her mind was already bittered, perhaps, they found her inexperienced and unsuitable for the job.

"It's better I stay at home now. I don't think I can walk alone anymore."

"Don't you think you are going to starve then?" Mrs Lee came out from the passage and she entered the sitting room. Though the twins were sitting on the sofa across from Eva, they pretended they didn't hear her soliloquising as they were busy watching a football match on one of their phones.

"I fear that those men are still lurking in one corner, waiting for the day I pop out again in that street. I don't think I can even work there if I am told to. I am scared that what happened that day will keep happening."

Mrs Lee sighed. She didn't know how to comfort her daughter since she had never experienced such. "The police are working on the case, my dear. And besides, you can't stay here sucking yourself and thinking that's the only way to prevent them from attacking."

Eva looked at her mother and a small but sad grin embraced her face, "Mum, I am afraid I can. It's already enough that I only eat and not work too hard."

Mrs Lee looked at her daughter for a while, trying to understand whatever she meant by what she stated and the exact time she knew, she creased her brows and her voice raised higher than expected which called the twins' attention, "Oh no! Don't tell me your old mother should keep fending for you?"

Eva licked her lips and almost immediately, she found something interesting about her fingernails as she spoke, "Well, I am your daughter and that is your job. To fend for me. I don't have to work my ass off when you can do that," she paused and then stared at her, "isn't that right, mother?"

However, almost immediately, a smack was directed to her arms but expecting it and readying herself from it, Eva sprung off. "Mum, I'm not a kid again. You beat me more than you beat those stubborn sons of yours!"

"That is it. You are not a kid but an adult and it is your duty to work your ass off and fend for yourself. Even for us."

Hearing the word, 'us' Eva's eyes widened. "I believe that is not true. My hard-earned money should be only used to take care of myself."

"But my hard-earned money should be directed to taking care of you?" Mrs Lee said slowly, as she walked nearer to Eva, trying to corner her until she found the opportunity to give her the beating of her life.

"Of course, mum. The law states that as long as a woman is not married, she is the responsibility of her parents."

"And that stupid law states that, when a child is done with her education and doesn't wish to furthermore, she should get herself involved in a business and get herself a man to marry!"

As Mrs Lee stated the law that they had never heard before, Cupid and Eros with widened eyes, stared at her, while Eva soon shook her head in horror.

Eros interrupted, "And there is a law that states that anyone who tries to alter the law shall have to face the punishment according to the law, Mum."

Mrs Lee interrupted, "And there is another law that states that when a child disobeys his mother, he shall face the penalty of eating nought but water as his meal."

Eros' eyes widened seeing the wicked grin on his mother's face while Eva tried to defend him. "Mum, I am very sure if you had the time to sit and watch the television, or listen to the radio, you would believe that there is a new law that states that if a mother deprives her child of food, then she is to be put into a cell for two days until she agrees and promise never to starve her child again."

However, everyone paused as Cupid cleared his throat, showing that he had something to contribute to all the law formulating that had been going on. As he spoke, everywhere remained silent. It was like an irony since he was the youngest and his voice didn't entirely matter. "You all forgot the law that states that a mother isn't supposed to be called one if she has the mind to abandon her children."

Eros instinctively shifted on the sofa, looking at Cupid and his gaze fell on their mother too.

Eva looked horrified.

While Mrs Lee could only grit her teeth. She turned backwards, trying not to let them see her falling tears and then suddenly, she exited from the sitting room.

Seeing that everything had suddenly become frozen, Cupid brought out his phone and attached his earpiece to it. "Finally, I can breathe and hear."

However, Eva walked towards him and dragged his earpiece from him. She took it from him, infuriated and in a second, she yanked it apart, destroying it so easily.

Cupid saw this and then he stood up, quite angry but before he could say anything, Eva brought her hand up and rewarded him with a tight slap which he didn't see coming. "How dare you insult your mother?"

He clenched his fist angrily and then bit his lips until sudden drops of blood slowly came out from his busted lips but he rubbed on his lips before it could hurt more. His knuckles turned white as he glared at the lady before him, "Oh, do you mean how dare I say what you have been wanting to say to her?" He nodded his head slowly as he removed his gaze from her and then back to her, "I agree I am more confident than you."
