2 Noble Crest

The butler Cai Stavros was assigned to Lucius as a personal assistant he was a young man who just finished his apprenticeship as a butler but is well educated on noble life, so Lord Rosaire tasked him to teach Lucius on how to be a noble.

At the Morning Lucius was taught by Cai while at the afternoon Lucius was taught by a mage who will teach him knowledge of this world, while on his off day Lucius is taught a little bit of swordsmanship by Lord Rosaire.

"Being a noble sure is tiresome" Lucius said while laying in his bed.

Lucius fell asleep without him even knowing then Lord Rosaire barged in his room without a care in the world waking him up.

"Wake up boy we need you get your noble crest hurry now the arch mage is waiting"

Lucius immediately left the bed and groomed himself a bit to look more presentable then Lord Rosaire led to circular room where he saw the arch mage scribbling on the floor.

At closer inspection he noticed it was a magic circle covering the whole floor he then asked Lucius and Lord Rosaire to stand in the middle of the circle, he the took out a silver ornament dagger after that he took the hands of the two men and sliced their hands.

The magic circle suddenly glowed because of the blood dripping on the floor at the same time the arch mage casted a spell that made the blood float and turn to black liquid, He redirected it to Lucius's right arm .

The black liquid immediately attached itself to Lucius's right hand, Lucius felt a burning sensation and pain in the process after a few minutes it eventually cooled down and the Black Liquid on his right hand became a tattoo and the pattern was a rose with ornaments.

"You now have the blood of Rosaire coursing through you" The arch mage said panthing.

After that the arch mage fell unconscious the process drained up all his mana so his disciples immediately took him to a room to rest.

Lord Rosaire and Lucius went to the courtyard to speak privately,

"Now you have the Crest of Rosaire i'm going to tell you its purpose" Lord Rosaire explained the use of the crest and its history.

After a long explanation the crest is basically power given by the goddess of creation to protect the Kingdom of Alvania.

"The crest has many uses like amplifying magic or doubling ones combat prowess, etc. but bear in mind your crest grows along with the number of your followers and it can work the other way around" Lord Rosaire explained.

Lucian picked yes and he immediately felt a surging power inside him, after Lord Rosaire explained the use of the crest he immediately ordered lucius to take Cai as his first follower.

The next day Lucius asked Cai if he wants to be his follower and Cai agreed immediately, Lucius placed his right hand over Cai's Head and recited a Chant,

"You who wishes to follow the house of Rosaire accept my bond and never break them"

Lucius's Crest glowed bestowing a mark of the flower on Cai's body, after that the crest of rosaire expanded on Lucius's Hand.

Lucuis and Cai immediately reported to Lord Rosaire that he gained a follower, He then explained the benefits and downsides of the crest and gave them a mission to test their powers.

Lucius and Cai immediately gathers 50 Footmen, 25 Archers and 25 cavalry to destroy a monster nest near the village of sagard.

Lucius who was wearing a robe with a small steel plate that has a rose engraving and Steel ornate gloves and boots Explained the situation to his men while Cai is equipping his steel plate armor set.

Lucius then mounts a horse along with his men and they immediately galloped to sagard village after an hour, on the way Lucius noticed that the village roofs was on fire so he signalled his men to get ready for battle, the footmen and archers dismount while the cavalry ready their lances.

Lucius ordered the cavalry to circle the village and kill any monster that tries to escape while he positioned his archers on an elevated terrain to gain vantage point and then He, Cai and the footmen charge the monsters.

one by one Lucius and his men killed the fire salamanders attacking the village while his archers support them and his cavalry kills those who are escaping.

after an hour of battling all of the salamanders are dead he then orders his cavalry to gather the surviving villagers to check on their conditions, almost all of them have burned skin on their bodies so lucius casted "Area Heal" spell which is an arcane magic.

He then spoked to the surviving village elder and asked him the direction of the monster nest.

The monster nest is near the foot of Mt. Valen where dragons reside the area is steep so he left his cavalry and cai to guard the village while He and the remaining soldiers trekked to the monster nest after hours of walking and trekking he decided to set up camp to a small hill 5 km away from the nest.

He gave a fair shift on guard duty and he himself will also take guard duty, after 6 hours of rest he and some rested men took guard duty.

He then asks two men to scout the monster and specifically told them to not disturb or wake them.

Morning Came and the scouts he sent came back with grim news they reported that a boss monster has appeared its probably a minor dragon so his officers became hesitant and advise him to retreat and asked for more experienced men.

But Lucius did not heed the advice he then came up with a strategy The footmen will deal the salamanders while the archers support the footmen and Lucius will take the dragon 1 on 1.

His officers gulps and asked him to reconsider because if he dies in battle Lord Rosaire will cut their heads.

He ignored it and continued with his plan so after they eat and rest a bit they immediately set out to the monsters nest.

his plan went smoothly one by one the salamanders fell and Lucius sneaks inside the nest to duel the dragon, a burst of flames immediately came out of the entrance of the cave.

Soon explosions follow with then sound of gust of air, and silence fell the soldiers were afraid that their commander has fallen so they immediately charge inside the cave but to their suprise they found a dead dragon lying on the floor with blood oozing from his body.

the officers immediately gathers and reports to him that the nest is destroyed, he then orders them to gather the materials from the salamanders and carry the corpse of the minor dragon.

they reached the village at dawn with the villagers and cai surprised to see a corpse of the dragon being carried by pack mules on a wheeled platform.

Lucius and his men spent the day resting to recover their stamina while the village celebrates with a feast because their troubles are gone.

After a goodnight's rest he immediate sets out for Hares city carrying with them the corpse of the minor dragon, after 6 hours they reached the gate of Hares City the guards were shocked with what they saw a corpse of a dragon and everyone who were walking the streets watch with great shock they have one thing on their mind the heir of House Rosaire is a Dragon Slayer, they were relieved that their next lord is a great warior or mage not some snotty brat.

Lord Rosaire heard the news of Lucius's Return and waited for them in the castle yard with great shocked and relief he immediately hugs lucius.

Lucius then gifted the corpse of the dragon to Lord Rosaire but he refuse saying that Lucius needed the money to pay his men with great shock he immediately knew that he now commands a Battalion of 100 men.

Lady Frances also went to the castle yard and saw the corpse of the dragon she almost peed herself if it werent for Lord Rosaire standing next to her comforting her.

Lord Rosaire celebrated with a feast at dinner eating with all of the soldiers below.
