Chapter 9

As soon as they went outside, they headed straight towards the elevator and called for it. Suddenly, a screaming voice can be heard from above as the voice rapidly grow closer to them and then passes them. After the screaming voice passes a loud crashing of glass and other things can be heard on the floor below them. They looked at each other for a moment.

"We've got no choice. Quickly, to the stairs!! Axel shouted as he promptly ran towards the emergency stairs, followed by the rest. When they open the door, they can see that the stairs had also been destroyed. It has cracks all over it and a few of the stairs are destroyed. Axel cautiously walks down the stairs followed by Fulario, Mirin, then Wyatt.

After taking a few minutes walking cautiously down the emergency stairs, they had finally arrived at the ground floor where they immediately opened the door to the lobby of the hotel. It was mayhem, there's blood on the entrance of the elevator that confirmed their suspicion earlier, chaos ensued as people quickly ran out of the hotel and screaming. People getting stomped by the crowds that are trying to get out, resulting in some of their bones broken and their heads being crushed.

"This is a mess..." Fulario said as they all looked at the chaos that is ensuing with a face full of concern. However, the chaos did not ensue for long as a few seconds later, another rumbling happened that once again, shook the entire building. The floor was so unstable that the crowds are tripping and falling over one after another, making a huge pile of a human roadblock on the entrance.

"What should we do now? How are we supposed to get out?" Wyatt said as he is also confused and shocked.

"There's no time to think about it. This is the only way!!" Mirin shouted as she wields her sword and smashes open a hole on the wall near the emergency stairs that leads directly outside. "Come on! We need to hurry up and see what the hell happened here!!" she shouted as she leads the group out of the hotel through the giant hole that she made on the wall.

As soon as they got out of the hole, they're greeted by yet another ensuing chaos that is even worse than the one inside the hotel. The group looked at each other before each of them gave a nod and started running towards the tower that is covering the street with its shadow. They ran for a good amount of time when they are finally at the core of what's causing the chaos that is ensuing. There they see two groups, one of which are a group of machines with rotating machine guns and chainsaw attached to it. The machine was approximately 2 meters in height and 2 meters in wide and length, with a design that seemed purposefully made to resemble a cube with multiple lights on its frontal upper part which seem to serve the purpose of its eyes.

Meanwhile, the other group is made out of people with similar gears as Axel and the others that are fighting off these slaughtering machinery. One of them is a woman with purple long hair tied in a ponytail. She uses a sword that can stretch out and has a string in the middle of each section, making it seem like it was a whip. She wears a dark orange long coat with a blue sweater underneath it as well as dark purple pants, her eyes are as black and beautiful as the night sky.

Not too far from the women, is a guy that is no less inferior with his combat skills. He has gray short hair with crimson eyes that can make people think that he's staring directly into their souls. He has a pair of daggers that are each connected with chains, the chains themselves are wrapped around his forearms, making it possible to swing them around at a medium-range as he slashes the machinery open with a battle maniac smile on his face. He wears a dark gray tank top with white stripes and black pants.

Last but not least is a man that is pretty far behind the two previous figures. He has yellow, almost golden-colored hair with heterochromia eyes that consist of blue and red eyes on his poker face. He uses what seems to be a long rifle. However, each time he fires, there are red and blue colored magical circles that appear around him where the bullets seem to be shot from. Every time he pulls the trigger, the group of magical circles shot their bullets before disappearing and then reappearing at a different location but still near him and never in front of him. He wears a peach-colored scarf with a transparent white cloak that covers most of his body as well as dark black pants with books strapped to his waist and chest.

Although the three of them seemed to be handling the situation fine by themselves, if one were to look closely they would notice that everyone except the guy with a tank top are close to being exhausted as their actions became more reckless like not finishing off the machine before it's completely dead or fighting multiple of them at the same time instead of taking them out one by one.

"...Is that... L-lily?.." Axel's face was filled with disbelief as he stuttered with his eyes fixed at the woman with the purple-colored hair. "Fulario! Boost me up!" he shouted as he looks at Fulario and then quickly running towards the woman.

Fulario then takes out his pocket watch as he shouted, "Overcharge!!" the pocket watch then began to run quickly as an aura appears around Axel, Mirin, Wyatt, and Fulario himself. Axel became faster as Fulario gave a nod towards Mirin and Wyatt as the three of them follows behind the bolting Axel at a high speed.

Axel promptly draws his sword, revealing a violet blade that gave a violet track on its trails like an after image. As he became closer to the woman, he passes by the guy with the long rifle as he saw that one of the machines is revving up its chainsaw. The guy with the rifle's face became shocked at the sudden arrival of Axel that passes him at high speed. Axel's face showed a hint of anger as the veins on his neck became visible as if they were ready to burst open.

'This time, I'm not letting you die!!' he thought to himself as he then once again became faster as he does an overhead cut, cutting off the chainsaw from its body. He then turns around and does another cut from below that cuts off the rotating machine gun. Quickly after, he does multiple swings that cut open the machine, finally killing it.

"Are you ok?" Axel asked the woman as he stares at her back which seemed to remind him of a certain person. The woman then turns around, revealing her face which suggests that she's still in her early twenties. Axel, upon seeing her face gave a slight sigh as he looks disappointed and sad.

"Thank you, but we've got no time to waste," the woman said as she continues to fend off the machines. Axel followed along as he joins the fight to destroy the remaining machinery.

Not too long after Axel arrived there, the rest of the group arrived and immediately rushed to help them. Wyatt with his twin sword swings at a cross pattern that cuts a machine into 4 pieces. Mirin with her giant sword cuts 3 machines in half with a horizontal swing that immediately destroyed them. Fulario is using his fist and legs to fight off the machine, one of his punches strikes right through inside the machine as he pulls out the cable cords that are within them, as well as ripping them open with his bare hand. Even with the electricity that is coming from the cables he still doesn't stop doing so.
