Chapter 2

"Beautiful...." He looked around himself. Right. Left. Everything beside him was beautiful. Starting with trees and continuing with animals. Clear air, blue sky, flora, and fauna similar to the natural geographic shows—no, even more than that.

He didn't know what kind of place his world had become, but he was sure that even before the disaster, the sight before him wasn't something that could be taken lightly. He was stunned.

"So this is the so-called 'Earthland'?" Naegi asked.

"It surely is, Makoto."

Although Fortuna wasn't near him, he could hear her voice in his head. She was like a guide to him. "So...can you at least explain where I should go?"

"I will surely do that, but before that, I would like to hear something from you."

"To hear something from me? What?" Naegi asked while scratching his chin, taken aback by the sudden question.

Well, first of all, I want to hear about your goal. What do you want to pursue in here?"

The question was out of the blue, but Naegi decided on the answer even before he teleported into a new world. With his head high and eyes filled with hope, he straightly answered, "I surely want to get stronger... I understood that I should be strong if I want to change the world and save everyone, so my first priority is to become strong."

"Quite remarkable, dear Makoto, but seemingly you've got another goal, am I right?"

"W-Well..." He started to sweat and became a bit red. "Maybe I can gain new friends in this new world?"

"..." She was silent. It was an unexpectedly expected thing from Makoto. "Pfft! Hahaha, you are so pure!" If she wasn't just a voice in his head, she would have tightly hugged him, but pity she is a voice now.

"Yes, I know it's a bit strange, but I think having bonds is important."

"Hmm. But if you're still going to go back to your original world, then what is the point?"

"I will find a way anyway."

With that said, Naegi asked about the most important things as of now, like "Where should I go?" And "What should be my current goal?"

"Well, answering your first question, I will say that your first destination should be the town of Hargeon. It is one of Fiore's most beautiful towns, which is renowned for fishing rather than magic, as only 10% of the town are Wizards."

"Whoah, you just gave an answer that confused me even more—what is Fiore, and how exactly magic works in here?"

"Hmm. Fiore is a neutral nation with a population nearly exceeding 17 million."

Naegi placed a hand on his chin. "It is quite big."

"It indeed is. Fiore is a calm nation that doesn't fight with any other nation, and as for magic, it is a bit more complicated, I would say."

"I am sure that I will understand it."

"You see, magic is a supernatural force that occurs regularly in everyday life, is used as a tool, and is bought and sold all over the world. It is also the main form of art or combat utilized by Mages."

"So it has many uses all around the world? I think in a world where there is magic, most things are quite easy to do."

"It indeed is. Having magic is more like having Wi-Fi; everything and everyone depends on it." She then proceeded to continue her speech. "Magic has been around for centuries. Its complete origins are shrouded in mystery; some believe it to be a power bestowed by the Gods to help the powerless. Every type of Magic originated from The One Magic, the ancient source of all types of Magic. Magic was once oppressed and feared, so much so that the Inquisitors hunted, persecuted, and killed any Mage they could find. But after the formation of Mage Guilds and the system of taking job requests, Magic gradually became an everyday phenomenon."

Hearing that, Makoto frowned. He knew exactly how people would act if you were a bit different than them. "I am glad that now mages don't suffer from being executed. Although you mentioned guilds, do you mean guilds where people take on jobs and execute monsters?"

"Yup! A Guild is a type of organization in Earth Land, characterized by a member base and common trade. The purpose of a guild is to obtain and disseminate job requests to the members of the guild."

"I see..." It was surely a lot of information, but he thought that it didn't differentiate from the mangas he was forced to read by Hifumi—not that he didn't like them, though. "I think I am a bit aware of how things work out here, so I guess I will need to join a guild."

"A good choice, Makoto. Also, I nearly forgot to mention that I granted you a gift."

"Huh? A gift?"

"Yep. It is not much, but for a person who was born in the world without magic and bard labor work, you are quite weak."

Makoto, of course, wasn't happy to be called weak, but it was the truth, and he needed to accept it as quickly as possible. "You are right, Fortuna-san, I am really weak, and I also need to get stronger, and I will need any help I can get."

It's so inspiring to see how enthusiastic you are. Well, my gift is nothing much. I gave you the ability of a God Slayer."

"In fact, no one knows how to learn God Slayer magic, and people say that like Dragon Slayers, they learn it from the deity themselves. It is true, but not quite, as God doesn't really interfere with this world, so that's why the number of God Slayers is much less than Dragon Slayers."

"Wait wait! You are saying that there are even Dragon slayers?"

"There are quite a few of them. There is the Fire Dragon Slayer as well as the Wind Dragon Slayer and even the Iron Dragon Slayer. In fact, they are similar to God Slayers."

"I see. It's really shocking to find out that Dragons do exist in this world."

"I won't say that they do. Well,  they might be still alive, but they disappeared a long time ago, so there is no telling."

Makoto felt something in Fortuna's tone as if she were hiding something, but since she didn't want to say what it was, he decided not to ask about it either.

"Then what kind of God Slayer magic do I have?"

"Hehehe! I am glad you asked!" If she were present here, Naegi was sure that she would have extorted her chest in pride. "Since I am the goddess of luck, you are the Lucky God Slayer!"

This was a nonsensical thing to say!

"L-Lucky God...what?"

"You don't like it?"

"N-No! Just...I think it's too much... I mean, you are so nice to me, and I don't know how to repay you, and—"

"No. Makoto, you can't understand me now, but I need you to become stronger. Stronger than you are right now, and you said it yourself: You wanted to get stronger no matter what."

"I am...." He bit his lip. She was too kind towards him. He lowered his head and, with his voice as loud as he could make it, screamed, "I am really thankful to you, Fortuna-san!"

"No no... I am thankful to you, Naegi, and besides, I didn't quite teach you how to use your magic, didn't I?"

Naegi scratched his head No, you didn't. Haha.".

"Well, it is more of a practice than a usage. My magic doesn't make you stronger; it just affects your life."

"What do you mean?"

"Well, try to break that tree by screaming something like 'Lucky God's Roar."

Makoto was embarrassed. He didn't want to do it, but there was no time to back down, and it's not like it would harm him. He breathed in as he screamed, "Lucky God's Roar!" As he said it, he suddenly tripped on a small rock, launching it towards the tree, which suddenly and surprisingly fell down, causing other trees to fall, creating a chain reaction, and in a matter of seconds, nearby trees were all laying on the ground.

To say that his jaw dropped to the ground was an understatement, as it was even more than that.

He looked pale as a white sheet of paper, and the only word he could say was "What the hell!?"

Yo! Jumbo is here! Well, I know that it is nonsensical power he got, but well, Fortune is my OC, and she is the goddess of fortune, and making Naegi a dragon slayer will be, well, kind of overused. Every fic about Fairy Tail makes Mc have Dragon Slayer magic, like really letting Dragon Slayer rest. So well, Naegi is now super lucky. Think of Naegi as the King from Opm. He is weak, yet somehow things turn out the way they do, which makes him popular.

Naegi is weak in the beginning, but people will think of him as if he were someone on par with Gildarts.
