...
The words were written in a difficult language, as the writing was not from the present time but thousands of years ago by people from ancient Mesopotamia.
Reading the riddle again made the corners of Petra's mouth rise. "In the midst of the sun's heat, there's a large river bank with rushing water, here lies hidden ancient tales where wisdom once reflected clearly, this place is Babylon!"
As Petra mentioned the keyword "Babylon," something amazing happened to the inscription. A low rumble was heard in the underground tunnels, and the large stone covering the inscription began to shift on its own.
With wide eyes, Petra watched in awe as the stone moved, revealing a hidden crevice in the wall. Dim light illuminated the narrow open passage, inviting Petra to explore further into the darkness.
The mage descended the stairs, step by step, through the increasingly enveloping darkness. The dim light of the flashlight he carried illuminated the ancient stone steps, feeling cold beneath his feet.
The deeper Petra descended, the clearer the place he entered became. Around him, layered stone walls gave the impression that he had entered a magnificent and ancient structure. The intricate architecture and delicate details hinted that this place had a long history and was rich in wonders.
Petra was fascinated by the beauty and grandeur of the place he found. However, he also felt puzzled. How could such a large city be so far underground?
As he continued his journey, his mind was filled with questions. He tried to find answers in his deep memory, trying to understand how such a magnificent structure could be hidden so deep underground.
"How beautiful this place is," Petra murmured, his voice echoing in the silence of the underground space. "But how can such a large city exist so far underground? This is truly remarkable."
The mage recognized this place from stories he had heard before about the silhouette of an ancient city buried deep underground. However, he did not expect that the city would be Babylon, a place whose historical value was still clearly etched in his mind.
Petra explored the place with fascination, admiring the beauty and grandeur of the well-preserved ancient architecture underground. When he finally arrived at a pyramid that seemed to belong to the ruler of this place, his heart raced in anticipation of what he would find inside.
As he entered the spacious altar room, Petra was greeted by ripples forming beautiful paintings on every wall, as if telling a story full of miracles and grandeur.
Without further ado, Petra felt connected to the magical atmosphere around him, which made his mind sink into the peace and wonder of the place. He felt the time had come to do his final task.
Digging into his pocket, Petra found an object resembling a baseball-sized seed. This was the core of the tower he would build, and to grow it would take at least 100 years. But Petra was sure that the end result would be worth the effort and patience.
Not only that, Petra also pulled out his own artifact as a gift for successfully completing the tower. This artifact was a token of appreciation for the long journey and extraordinary achievements that the future challenger would achieve.
His heart trembling with a mixture of enthusiasm and sadness, Petra planted the seed in the middle of the altar. The final touch was to give a mantra that would move the entire city into the dimension contained within the seed. Thus, in 100 years, a magnificent and mysterious dungeon would be created.
With a deep breath, Petra recited the mantra with honor and dedication, letting magical energy envelop the altar and the seed planted within it. And as the ritual ended, Petra felt relieved and satisfied, as his task was done and a beautiful legacy had been left for future generations.
Finally, his task was done, the mage felt his responsibility now was to keep the secret of this tower until the time came to announce it to the world. Petra knew that to achieve his grand vision, information about this tower had to be kept safe and only announced at the right time, which was 100 years from now.
...
Grayfia sat alone in her inn room, feeling slightly bored. She looked out of the window, seeing the dusk sky starting to darken. In the silence of the room, she began to miss the adventures and excitement she used to experience with Petra.
"Ah, how I miss Petra," Grayfia murmured to herself. "He must have found something interesting at that place."
The low buzz from the square crept into Grayfia's inn room, reminding her of the ongoing festival outside. An idea popped into her mind.
"Maybe I should go to the square and see what's happening there," Grayfia thought. "Who knows, maybe I can find Petra there."
With a firm decision, Grayfia rose from her seat and stepped out of her inn room. She walked outside with steady steps, ready to enjoy the colorful and joyful night at the harvest festival in the city.
