He Chun shook her head, "I don't have Swords Dance, but I have another item that you might find useful."
"What?" Chen Yue asked.
He Chun rummaged through her backpack and quickly pulled out an item that resembled a sharp tooth.
She explained, "It's a Dragon Fang. When carried, it boosts the power of Dragon-type moves by twenty percent, which is perfect for your big green guy."
"Deal!"
They immediately agreed and exchanged items.
Chen Yue accessed his backpack panel, selected Dragonite, and clicked on "Equip."
The next moment, a small tooth-shaped icon appeared in the bottom right corner of Dragonite's avatar.
"Okay!" He Chun also seemed to have equipped her Dratini happily, saying, "How about becoming friends?"
Chen Yue was taken aback, and then a new friend request appeared on his panel.
[Player He Chun has requested to add you as a friend. Do you accept?]
[The friend function is now officially enabled!]
[Note: The friend function is only available for use in the Infinite Space and is disabled in dungeons!]
Chen Yue chose to accept.
Seeing this, He Chun closed her panel, grinned, and revealed eight big white teeth, saying, "Shall we take a stroll? As a gift for becoming friends, I can give you some useful information for newcomers."
So the two of them started walking along the commercial street.
After a while, He Chun asked, "Have you seen the giant Pikachu statue in the square?"
Chen Yue nodded.
"That place is actually the entrance and exit for all dungeons. Pikachu symbolizes the starting point of Pokemon, like Ash Ketchum in the anime or Pokemon Yellow."
He Chun paused for a moment and her lips curved slightly upward, "In addition to being an entrance and exit, that statue also has a very practical function."
"All Infinite players can spend points there to exchange for trainer skills, such as the Detection Technique that allows you to see the opponent's Pokemon Level, or the Viridian Power that can heal Pokemon, and so on."
"The basic skill, Detection Technique, is okay, and all players can afford to exchange for it. But the Viridian Power is too outrageous, with a price of 500,000 points. As far as I know, there are no more than three-digit players in the entire Infinite Space who possess this skill."
Chen Yue thought of the 999,999 points for the ticket and nodded in agreement, saying, "Indeed, it's too outrageous. I feel like I've crossed into a pay-to-win mobile game."
He Chun chuckled at his words, "Indeed, I had the same feeling back then."
Chen Yue had a vague sense that something was not quite right, so he asked, "How long have you been here?"
He Chun counted roughly on her fingers and replied, "Probably for about fifty or sixty years? I can't remember exactly."
Chen Yue: Shocked.jpg
"Then how do you know those modern catchphrases?"
He Chun rolled her eyes, "What are you thinking? We are from the same generation, okay? Besides, the flow of time here is obviously different from the outside world."
"Alright." Chen Yue thought for a moment. He had already accepted the fact that he had traveled through time, so what else couldn't he accept?
However, upon hearing He Chun's words, he couldn't help but be curious, "You've been here for so long and still haven't accumulated enough points?"
He Chun sighed and put her hand to her forehead, "Do you think points are that easy to come by? I can only get over twenty points in a single dungeon, and sometimes, if I'm lucky and complete a hidden task, I can earn fifty or sixty points. Plus, the point expenditure in the Infinite Space is too high. If it weren't for a few shops supporting me, I would have starved to death long ago."
Chen Yue, who had earned 200 points in his first dungeon, dared not speak.
He Chun became increasingly agitated as she spoke, "Damn it! The more I think about it, the angrier I get. You need points for everything, even eating, raising Pokemon, and everything else. I spent my whole last life working, and I never expected to come here and work for something I don't even know!"
Chen Yue: ...
He Chun's chest heaved with excitement like an airport runway, and it was evident that she was trying to control her emotions.
She waved her hand, "I won't talk about it anymore. I'm going back to my shop to have a cup of health tea. You can continue shopping!"
With that, she teleported away.
Chen Yue no longer had any items on him. After wandering around the commercial district for a while without finding a booth selling the Swords Dance move manual, he could only regretfully teleport to the square.
Under the massive Pikachu statue, new players kept appearing from inside. Chen Yue took a glance and then turned his gaze to the statue.
The next moment, his panel automatically displayed:
[Detection Technique]: After use, you can see the Level of the target Pokemon. Exchange price: 50 points.
[Viridian Power]: A magical power that can communicate with a Pokemon's inner thoughts and heal Pokemon injuries. Exchange price: 500,000 points.
[Psychic]: Ability to use simple Psychic moves, such as Teleport, Confusion, and others. Exchange price: 500,000 points.
[Dragon Force]: A magical ability that enhances the power of Dragon-type Pokemon. Exchange price: 500,000 points.
There were also abilities like Wave Force, Overpower Force, and more, all priced at a uniform 500,000 points.
It's outrageous!
Chen Yue looked at his pitiful 200 points, exchanged without expression for the cheapest Detection Technique.
The next moment, his 200 points dropped to 150.
"Go home!"
Without lingering in the square, Chen Yue directly teleported back to his still-undecorated room.
He absolutely couldn't stay in such an empty white room for seven days.
So Chen Yue decided to indulge himself.
Pikachu-themed bed for 5 points each, exchanged!
Eevee cute blanket for 5 points each, exchanged!
Sunny Sky wallpaper for 3 points each, exchanged!
Animal Crossing limited edition Switch for 1 point each, exchanged!
Large TV for 1 point each, exchanged!
As he watched his room slowly transform, Chen Yue felt a sense of satisfaction.
Perhaps this is the charm of spending points!
It really feels great!
After everything was tidied up, Chen Yue was worried that his Pokemon would get bored inside their Poke Balls.
Chen Yue waved his hand and released both of them.
Then, he turned on the TV to keep them entertained.
Mimikyu was fine, but Dragonite, being over two meters tall, looked particularly cramped in the room.
Chen Yue, looking at Dragonite's curled-up body and its lowered head, immediately felt that he needed to earn more points.
He couldn't let his child live in such a cramped space. It couldn't even stretch its wings and soar freely in the sky like it could in the Dragon's Den, let alone use Dual Wingbeat.
The seven days of rest in the Infinite Space passed in the blink of an eye.
On the third day, He Chun sent a message to remind Chen Yue to keep an eye on his remaining points. Failing a mission in the copy would deduct a large number of points, and if it went into negative points, it would be sent away.
Chen Yue wanted to thank her but found that the player had entered the copy, and she couldn't receive messages.
So he had to give up.
Finally, seven days passed.
Chen Yue arrived at the Pikachu statue as instructed. Then everything around him turned black, and a voice without emotional fluctuations sounded.
"Welcome, player, to the super-sized role-play instance! Your identity is [Bug Catcher]!"
