概要

Humanity is throwing an ever increasing amount of scrap into landfills. Plastics which no organism can digest. Chemicals so toxic no organisms known to man dare touch. Yet life finds a way amidst all this. The plastic can be absorbed as modular armor. The chemicals contain potent energy in their compositions.

Chapter 1My life

"In a junk pile far far away... Hah, no I'm just kidding with you, this is dump site 19"

"It's a wonderful place full of treasures no one can appreciate except for me... and my competitors."

"But that's irrelevant, the real fun is in the conflicts of the humans!"

"I mean, every time they have a conflict, something good comes here, whether that be high energy storage cells or military grade plastics!"

"The very thought of it makes me drool!"

"Anyways I haven't seen a human in a long time, not since they started dumping that energy drink down here."

"Oh I know it's not an energy drink, it's just a waste product of whatever…but it's healthy and delicious!"

"The humans have been pouring that down for a long time now so we -- ah! darn… Alejandros must've bit me."

"Damn cockroaches will survive anything but this one in particular. Somehow he got lucky out of his bunch and didn't die. Luckily he was sterilized when he bit his own pair off. Don't know what he was thinking but damn thats a sad place to be."

"Almost feel sorry for the kid, was there when he was born, back before they started dumping that sludge, middle of the bunch, wasn't protected since he was the worst at something, wasn't the best at anything. Just left alone… even by death I guess. HAH! Now that's a funny one."

"Guess I'm lucky enough to not have a bunch of him running around."

"Anyways, I guess this is as good of a time as any to introduce you to my neighbors! Meet Senny! Well we used to call him sunny, but he hates the sun HAH!"

"Senny's a really sweet guy, he won't bite… not like Alejandros that is."

"He's just one of the little worms that are around here, poking air holes here and there. If you want an airway, Senny's your guy. Or girl. Or another gender. Do worms even have genders???"

"Damn why didn't the encyclopedia set include that. I guess we're set far away from reality as everybody else knows it though that we're so different nobody knows what we are anymore."

"Anyways he'll do anything for free, emphasis on the free. Me and Alejandros offer him 'protection' in exchange for him to work for us for free. HAH! What a sucker."

Now are there more monsters in our junk pile? Yes. Do you or I want to meet them? All I know is that I'm sure as hell not interested in meeting them. Geez the last time I met one was some walking and writhing indiscernible mass. I mean, do you want to meet him? The damn mole was pink! Pink I tell you! What ungodly color is that!? That's the color of the food I eat, the color of the walls that surround me in my mound! It's a sickly ungodly pink! Like Senny but worse! You can see the blood vessels just looping around his body! Now when you combine that with the solid colors of his muscle what do you think you get! The most ungodly sight you've ever seen! I would spurt my digestive fluids everywhere if I got too close to him! Who wants to live near that guy! And there is a high chance that more of where that came from where he lives! So no I don't want to live in a den of the most ungodly creatures I've ever seen!

"Now do I know his character? No. Do I know why he looks like that? No. Do I know anything other than that he looks like that? No. But what I do know is that that is the most ungodly sight I've ever seen and God can I not focus on knowing anything about him! Nor do I even want to! That's simply how ungodly of a sight he is!"

"Now take Senny. He's a very nice straight line. None of that looping around stuff I see in the dumb mole. Now take Alejandros. A very nice dull brown shell. A comforting sight to see. None of that disgusting pink. Now look in contrast to that ungodly sight that is the manager of duties here! I'd do twice as much as work if I didn't have to see him every few days!"

"Not that I'd mind getting more duties… All I have to do is eat. Simple."

"What they call trash, I call junk food. It's simply delicious, all those different tastes and smells whirling around and around and around up into heaven. Just kidding. I can't taste. I just secrete my digestive fluids and I suck them back in. Simple. None of that 'hey I'll put this in my mouth and after it gets treated like a bazillion times it'll come back out again' - I mean just imagine, what does it feel like to have something coming out of you?"

"But I mean, now that the bit Alejandros bit off me is done healing… Oh yeah that's another part of humans that absolutely sucks! I mean just imagine losing a small part of your body and not being able to grow it back! I mean all these arms and legs and bodies and heads I've been receiving! I mean why can't they just grow it back after they've had their head blasted off of them by an explosion!"

"Anyways a bit off track there I guess I gotta turn back into the form for doing my duty."

"God what if he stays an extra bit longer because I didn't eat fast enough."

"I would dump out much of my digestive fluids that my carefully constructed floor might dissolve!"

"I'm off to work!"

Apocalypse Days: I Rule with Foresight and a Powerful Son

You’d think seeing the future would give me a head start on surviving the apocalypse. I had it all planned—until everything I knew shattered when my husband sacrificed himself to save me and our son. Now it’s just me, my three-year-old son Leo, and my cursed gift of foresight that only seems to kick in when it’s nearly too late. I’m doing my best to keep us safe, to find food, to make some kind of plan— “Mommy?” I glance down, trying to ignore the tug on my pant leg as I focus on our supplies. “Not now, Leo. Mommy’s thinking.” “Mommy!” I sigh and finally look down. My three-year-old is standing there, clutching… I blink. “Leo, where did you get a knife?” He shrugs, grinning like it’s the most natural thing in the world. My heart stutters. “No, really. Where did you find that?” I try not to laugh. I mean, he’s three. Maybe he just—found it somewhere? But the next day, it’s a water bottle. Then, a tiny flashlight, somehow with batteries still inside. I don’t even know what else; he’s pulling things out one by one with the pleased grin of a kid who’s just figured out his favorite game. Well, we may just survive this mess after all. Now, if only the universe could have spared me from him. I don’t even know his name, but I know his type: tall, broad, and annoyingly handsome, with an air of calm control that’s out of place in this chaos. Ex-military, if I had to guess, with a voice that’s just as infuriating as his smirk. The man has a habit of showing up at the worst—or best—possible times, with a gun at the ready and secrets buried as deep as those bright green eyes. I mean, he’s probably useful, but I’m trying to keep my eyes on the prize here: survival. For Leo and me. Because, foresight or no foresight, nothing is guaranteed in this new world—except the fact that people like him are trouble.

Fight, Flight, or Freeze: The Healer's Story

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to wake up in a body that wasn't yours? A much, much younger body? I can't say that I had ever given it much thought. That was until one night when a patient entered the ER where I was working at and shot me point blank in the head. You know, if he wanted a second opinion, all he had to do was ask. But that's besides the point... Some how, some way, I work up in a strange hospital with a woman that looked suspiciously like my mother holding my hand and crying. Over joyed to see her, it took me a few minutes to realize that I was no longer the 25 year old, successful doctor at one of the most prestigious hospitals in the world. Nope, I was a 6 year old girl that for a moment... wanted her mother. When the apocalypse comes, it is everyone for themselves. I have three choices: do I fight for what I want? Will I run away and hide, or will I freeze when the demons of my past come back to haunt me? You might know me as the Healer, but this is my story to tell. ------ Fight, Flight, or Freeze is the second novel in the Rebirth in the Apocalypse series, this time featuring the Healer: Wang Tian Mu and her men. You won't have to read the first one to be able to understand this one, and she is not going to stay a child for the whole thing. Li Dai Lu and her guys will be popping in occasionally, but this is strictly Wang Tian Mu's story! I hope you enjoy! Eve of the Doomsday

Eve Ziffer always believed that one day her nano-machines would save humanity. It needed to be saved—from pollution, from the climate change, from the wars. Yet in the end, her research instead turned out to be the thing that pushed it into the very abyss. After surviving an attack and waking up from a six-years long coma that followed, Eve opens her eyes to see the world changed beyond recognition. Walking corpses roam the streets, and humans fight them with swords and superpowers. Now Eve is the only person able to finish her own work and fix the nano-machines that brought this devastation. Whether the last vestiges of mankind would disappear, or would the human race rise like a phoenix from the ashes—all lies in hands of Eve and the people she will meet along the way. They will fight and they will scheme and they will talk, because human vices are adversaries as bad as the zombies; and trials of friendship and love can be as perilous as any battle. ===================== Victor leaned towards her face, burning her with his glare. “No.” “I’m doing this for myself, for you and for science. Any single one of these reasons is enough to keep disagreeing with you.” Victor’s eyes dropped to her lips. ‘There is more than a single way to dominate a person…’ Before he could even try to stop himself, he dived in, pressing his lips on hers. His hand grabbed the back of Eve’s head, another fell on Eve’s thin waist and followed the alluring lines of her figure to her hip. His body was burning with inner fire. Eve was too shocked to think. She never expected for this standoff to end like it did. Victor kissed her as if he wanted to eat her. His bites stung, but his lips soothed. The heat of his hand burned her skin even through clothes. Then Eve finally regained her sanity. She drove her knee into Victor’s groin. He gasped and bended in pain, letting Eve go. Before he could resist, she continued the combo with a strike to the back of his head and a submission hold on his arm. “What are you doing?! I should’ve listened to Xia better. Men really are worse than dogs! How did I miss the moment when your brain had turned into mush, Victor?” “I didn’t think that I would need to spell it out, but there can be no romantic interactions in work time, and no romantic relations between researchers and test subjects. More than that, I’m not interested!” ==================== [Status: completed] Warning! Caring for Mr. Mutant

[COMPLETED] How can a Mutant and a Mutant Caretaker fight for their love, if science is their greatest enemy? ------------------------ Year 2023: Random DNA mutations suddenly occurred around the world. These mutations caused newborn babies to acquire animal traits, and no one knows why or where they originated. Year 2033: When funds, advanced technology, and a capable workforce became available to study these mutants, a national team of scientists was formed, called the "DNA Mutation Cadre" or "D.M. Cadre". They were given modern, state-of-the-art laboratories complete with equipment and isolation rooms. Here, mutants were studied and monitored in exchange for a large sum of money and government assistance. Year 2048: In the busy city of Makylee, a 25-year-old part-timer, Lia Brentvale, got fired from her two part-time jobs in just one unlucky day. Since her parents aren’t around, she’s the breadwinner of her family, providing for her two college brothers. She applied as a Mutant Caretaker in the D.M. Cadre Research Facility and after passing their exam, she was assigned to the mysterious and aloof vulture mutant. But as she got to know him, she also learned more about D.M. Cadre. Together with her hacker friend and their batchmates, they tried to uncover the deep secrets that lie within the research facility. ------------------------ PREVIEW: Aesop had always felt that being a mutant is a curse. But upon meeting Lia, he started accepting himself. Lia was always pointing out his strong points. She was always encouraging him to enhance his skills and discover his talents. She always tells him not to think of himself as a test subject just like how the scientists treat him. She reassured him that even though he's a mutant, he's not less than a person, so he shouldn't look down on himself. It was her uplifting words and her mere existence that gave color to his monochrome life. "Lia… I love you," Aesop uttered as his golden eyes stared through her deep blue eyes. "Ae, I… I love you, too," Lia then wrapped her arms around Aesop's neck, drawing in close to him. Aesop's hands slid down to Lia's lower back, and he embraced her. Their heartbeats quicken as their lips graze against each other. Lia thought it would be just a simple kiss, just like they had always done after their very first kiss, but she was wrong. Aesop's right hand suddenly caressed her back, then he placed it at the back of her head, pulling her to him with a little force. The vulture mutant's majestic wings enveloped them, and it was as if he was owning her. Aesop's wet tongue slid into her mouth, and it surprised her. She tried to resist, but with his hand at the back of her head, she couldn't get away from him. Eventually, she gave in to that passionate kiss... NOTE: Not a superhero story, but tackled more of science ethics and social issues ------------------------ UPDATE: Added CFMM Special - The Afterstory chapters after the Finale.
