Chapter 27 - Fighting seven second order wolves [II]

"This is going to be a pain." Isaac was at a significant disadvantage since the 7 wolves that were his enemies had the power to travel through shadow. Isaac's health had dropped and was still dropping with each and every passing second.

After the vampire prince was pushed back, he quickly charged at the wolf's pack but this time he put his mana in his lance causing his Executioner of Nightmares to glow in brilliant red light. To others, it was as if a layer of red energy had been added around the 1.5-meter long lance.

As if the lance was made up of a stretchable rubber, suddenly the lance grew in length. Clearly, the wolves were not expecting this. They had managed to push Isaac 7 meters away and assumed that Isaac was going to be an easy target.

What Isaac did just now had stunned them for a second there. At a very fast speed, the tip of the lance which was also covered with a layer of red energy reached the wolves. Just when the tip of the lance was about to touch the Boss wolf, the leader of the wolf pack, Isaac couldn't stop himself from feeling shocked seeing how quickly the boss wolf exchanged its position with its subordinates.

When the tip of the lance was only a few inches away from the boss wolf, he activated one of his hidden skills and exchanged places with one of his subordinates, using his underlings as a sacrificial tool for his survival.

[Ding! The host has...] In this situation Isaac was in no position to listen to the system's notifications. Isaac pretended as if he never heard the system's robotic words and continued to fight.

Isaac couldn't remain stunned for too long as he suddenly had sensed the presence of the Boss wolf behind him.

Seeing that he was surrounded by wolves being on his front and his back, the Vampire Prince of Aetas Empire quickly changed the shape of his weapon. At this moment Isaac's mind was running as fast as the speed of light. He was processing every single detail that his eyes managed to capture. Every single detail that his senses captured were being processed in his mind at super fast speed. In less than 2 seconds, Isaac had thought of a way to counter enemies on his two sides. Seeing how fast Isaac's response and thinking was, even Lusha thought that Isaac was an experienced fighter with at least 5 to 10 years of experience.

Little did the dragon Empress know that the Vampire Prince had a mythical class that was influencing his way of fighting. The Moon Marshal was helping Isaac quickly adapt and learn new things in battle. Before the apocalypse, Isaac never had any real-life and death situations. The only reason why he managed to remain calm and think this fast was mainly because of two of his skills. These skills were Heart of Ice which kept Isaac calm in an emergency while the Moon Marshal passively influenced Isaac, making him very quickly adapt and learn.

Being a gold-tier weapon, the Executioner of Nightmares also responded as quickly as Isaac wanted it to. The Executioner of Nightmares changed its shape to a golden staff with red runes written on it.

Before the Boss Wolf fully emerged from the shadows, as its head was still rising from the ground he momentarily widened his eyes seeing staff with red runes on it heading towards his head. The same thing happened with the other 5 wolves who had opened their mouths to attack Isaac. Who would have expected Isaac to attack at a lightning speed?

Bang!

When the shell of a nut is cracked a cracking sound is heard that gives off a satisfying feeling, similar to that, when the Executioner of Nightmares changed into a staff, Isaac felt greatly satisfied when he heard the cracking sound.

This unexpected attack has taken 5 more lives with it. The 4 lives of second-order beings gave Isaac a lot of EX resulting in him leveling up a few time more times. Unfortunately, the Boss wolf still hadn't died.

Isaac was kind of shocked seeing the boss wolf still alive after taking an attack from his Executioner of Nightmares, but then he realized something seeing the dark mist around his head that seems to look like a glass container that is about to break.

Seeing the crack, it was clear that the boss wolf was using all the dark Aura to increase its defense to the next level. This means, that even a third-order being's attack probably wouldn't be enough to kill the Peak second-order being. This didn't mean that Isaac's weapon was weak or anything. When Isaac changed the shape of his weapon and swung the staff around, he didn't have enough time to even use 1/10 of his weapon's powers.

The dark Aura that once looked frightening and dominating now had disappeared making the Boss wolf look no different from an ordinary Black wolf with an overgrown body.

Red, fresh, drops of blood began to roll down his head and fall on the ground. For a moment the boss wolf was seen shaking his head hard as if trying to get rid of the pain in his head.

"How about a second one?" Only a fool and idiot would let go of this golden chance to waste. Clearly, the wolf was stunned here. If Isaac doesn't end this wolf now then when he will do it.

Holding the other end of the staff, Isaac used all of his strength to smash the head of the Boss wolf, the second-order being's head.

Bang!

Like a watermelon, the head of the boss wolf had exploded causing some drops of blood to fall on Isaac's cheeks. When Isaac looked down, he realized there wasn't even a single bone or flesh of Wolf's head left. Everything had exploded into millions of tiny pieces and then get mixed with the rainwater.

"What is that?" Ignoring the words of the system, Isaac curiously picked up the dark small round bead that was laying next to his left leg. The round bead seems to shine even though it had dark color.

"That's a spirit core or monster core or Mutant beast core. You can call it whatever you wish."

"Spirit Core?" Isaac has heard of the term Spirit Core in the past before. Not every beast possesses Spirit Core. Only rare and unique kinds of beasts have Spirit Core in them.

As Isaac was thinking about Spirit cores, he saw 6 other small round beads that were shining in different colors. "I know Spirit Cores were rare. I definitely wasn't expecting to find 6 more of them at the same time."

Lusha waved her hand. The next moment Isaac witnessed something magical and phenomenal. All 6 beads that were around Isaac started floating in the air. The multi-colored beads flew toward Isaac when he opened his palms all the beads gently landed on his palm.

"Even in my time, finding a spirit core was a rare thing. But now that the whole world is evolving, the ordinary beasts of the past are also given the chance to evolve.

Lusha then pointed at the dead body of the Boss wolf. "This wolf had darkness affinity so it evolved to become Dark Wolf. In this world, spirit cores have become a common thing."

Looking at his left palm, Isaac could see round beads of dark blue, black, and red colors. Each color was representing one nature. The Dark blue was representing lightning, black was associated Darkness and Red was representing Fire Nature.

Normally when a cultivator reaches gold rank, meaning second order, they are able to use certain natures. To use elemental power, one must have nature affinity otherwise it is impossible to use elemental powers. However, this rule can be bent by mages and wizards.

"Using these beads, I can do many things. If these beads were used when forging a weapon, that weapon would have a certain elemental affinity." If a sword is forged using the dark round bead of the boss wolf, then that sword would have an affinity towards darkness. When someone uses Dark-type attacks, the sword would grant the user passive buffs and help the user with his dark attack.

Isaac carefully put the 7 round beads in his inventory. In the future, these beads were going to come in handy.

"What are you doing?" Lusha asked with a tone of a surprise seeing what Isaac was doing. Isaac after putting the beads in his inventory, then took out a small notebook and a pen.

"I want to study the runes on this wolf's bodies." Hearing Isaac's words Lusha was left speechless.
