概要

Qin Lin was playing a nostalgic game called “Ranches Story” when he was electrocuted. He suddenly discovered that he had the ability to enter into the game. He could even bring a watermelon he had planted in the game back to reality. At first, his plan was to sell watermelon for 2 yuan a catty. In that case, he could earn 20,000 yuan by planting 10,000 catties worth of watermelon in the game every day and selling them in reality. Later on, he discovered that by leveling up his ranch, he could obtain high quality crops that surpassed that of the real world. If he reared livestock, they were of far higher quality than that of reality. After he built factories, he obtained various recipes that far surpassed that of the real world. Everything changed after that.

First 400 or so chapters are pretty good. The story focuses on business, as the MC develops his tourist attraction and food company with the help of his cheat and builds his social network among high society and other useful acquaintances. It may be because I don't read this type of stories often, but I found the story quite engaging. There were few major translation problems. Then, at around ch 430, the translator changes into one who does barely edited MTL and has zero regard for consistency when it comes to names. The MC's wife especially has like 5 or 6 different names. It's still understandable, but it's not fun to read. What's worse is that the story is becoming political and the old nationalism/supremacism problem that plagues most Chinese novels set in the real world raises it's ugly head. Early on, there are a few incidents that gave me a good impression of the author/MC, they seemed to treat foreigners fairly and even subtly criticise Chinese racists. At most there was "positive nationalism", glorifying their own country, which is not that bad. Now, he seems like a different person, and the story is clearly becoming more political, sh*tting on foreign nations and companies with relish. The formerly mature and balanced MC starts acting like a juvenile prankster who thinks that wiping his butt with the flag of a foreign nation is funny (he does something vaguely equivalent in intention, if not as serious). At around ch 460, I'm seriously considering dropping this, my enjoyment totally spoiled.
