Chapter 28: One Hell Of A Skirmish

The Outskirts, The Coyote M. C. Hangout, Canyon Creek, Iowa....

Growls rumbled through the air as much as the roaring of the various motorcycle engines that had come to a certain area before being shut down as gunshots could be heard ringing out all along the patch of dirt the rival M. C. called their own. From first glance, Brick's keen grey eyes took notice of the damage done via the shootings and the struggle that ensued once The Badger M.C. happened upon the "Zygote" territory. Dirt and dust filled the air making it much more difficult to see one's hand in front of their face, but the Howler M.C. had multiple advantages in comparison to The Badgers M.C. and The Canyon Creek Coyote M.C. Brick gave the order to leave the bikes behind and Goldie along with them, despite her pouting about missing out on all the action.

It was better to be safe than sorry and she wasn't going to come to harm on Brick's watch. There was no telling what kind of punch "the Zygotes" packed in terms of weaponry as they were a notorious one percent gang here in Canyon Creek and quite a nasty bunch as it were. Criminals, low lives, and thugs were what made up their ranks. it was also a well known fact among the other M. C.'s that cooking and dealing meth was their bread and butter.

Brick instructed his boys to move about at strategic positions and keep their wits about them which wasn't difficult given their distinctive advantages of being actual werewolves when it came down to it. The mere human gangs didn't stand a chance.

"No deaths...and if you put a hurting on em, make sure they can function enough to tell you where my fish is?" growled Brick before taking off.

The Howlers all scattered and Goldie stayed on guard in case anyone got any funny ideas.

Brick found Ken near a toppled van covered in a good deal of overgrowth.

"Well, look what the cat dragged in." said Ken narrowing his eyes at Brick. "Took you fucking long enough."

"Long John Silver got stuck in your wife's cave." growled Brick crouching beside Ken as they looked toward a possible entry point to "the Zygote" hideout. "Now stop being a bitch and tell me what the fuck is going on."

"The Coyotes are hold up in that strange structure coked up something awful and very violent when approached....they put a hurting on a few of my boys and we circled back until you came up." explained Ken. "The fish you looking for is among them....fancies himself a prospect."

"Of course." remarked Brick as he rolled his eyes. "Everybody is a wanna be these days."

"Who are you telling." remarked Ken.

"I guess it's time to make this party a lot more fun." said Brick as he stood up and took off toward the hideout at speeds unheard of dodging bullets and explosives like he was back in the service.

Ken had barely been able to shift his expression as he watched his rival in awe like he had when they were in service together.

"Son of a bitch." he remarked shaking his head as he rushed after him not wishing to miss out on a good brawl himself.

Brick seemed to be having a field day cracking skulls as he tossed a few unfortunate Coyotes into the air and beat them into the ground. His large fists were definitely something to consider when attacking head on, but nothing else seemed to work against his movements either. His Howlers all charged when they saw him do so and each took on a few of the coyotes in groups enjoying the spectacle of the now all out brawl before The Badgers decided to finally get in on the action.

The sea of clashing leather vest wearing men had been quite a sight as many fights broke out and the dust kicked up in the wake of the all out brawl. Half of those that were participating had not even known why they were fighting in the first place but deeply held animosity and resentment of each other's club was good enough for many of them to throw hands.

Brick leveled at least half the group that came for him smirking and making wise cracks as he moved about tossing them around like they were small children with ease due to his superior strength and reflexes. He made his way through the would be guards of the establishment and found himself face to face with Vec Tanner, the leader of the Coyotes himself.

Vec Tanner Dawkins was a typical no good self-mutilating, drug popping, so called "realist", that seemed to always be in the worst place at the worst time since childhood. Word was he was abused so bad by each and every foster service that took him in that he ended up killing several of the family members before running away and becoming a Coyote.

Vec was a thin bastard, something like a long walking stick with shaggy brown hair always covered in dirt and he smelled of sweat and sewage when one got too close, or rather if one was unlucky enough to be too close to him. His fingernails were black due to polish and the fact that he kept them filthy, like his dealings. He couldn't even pay fully functioning prostitutes to screw him but was rumored he stuffed his cock in dead bodies and strung out coke whores.

His coyote vest was denim in terms of material and his patch was that of a prowling coyote with a gleam in it's eyes, not so unlike Vec himself.

"Fuck you doing here Bricker Brac?" hissed Vec as he stood wearing his denim cut, and a pair of skinny black jeans with dark brown hiking boots untied due to him never learning how.

His slim pale belly was exposed and had various tattoos all black ink and pertaining to death and his coyote crew on it along with his rather thin and formerly pale arms.

"Looking for a fish that got caught in your swamp." replied Brick with his arms folded across his massive chest. "Word is he's hold up with you lot."

Vector arched a brow at this news.

"You mean the pissy prospect?" he asked his voice raspy from all his smoking and arguments among his own ilk.

"Possibly, it's a fish by the name of Darren Hiller." replied Brick unphased by Vec's sorted appearance.

Vector smirked and let out a long whistle. Two of his boys brought a trembling and naked man whom had been covered from head to toe in blood and bruises as a result of his venturing into Coyote territory.

"Seems like he didn't like his stay here at Che Coyote." said Vec with a wicked grin. "Was curious about why he bothered to venture here, didn't know he was your fish, hope you don't mind I took a few nights to dip my rod if you know what I mean."

Brick had known exactly what he meant and from the look of absolute horror and shame on the face of the now captured man, it seemed he was relieved to have been found otherwise he'd have been dead within the next few hours and there was no telling what Vector would have done with his corpse.

Brick escorted Darren Hiller out of the hideout and through the crowded whom had stopped fighting once Vector summoned his boys inside and Ken rallied his to head back toward Kanid. Darren could hardly move but Brick was patient seeing the results of such a coward get what was coming to him in the worst way seemed to improve his mood. They managed to collect an old no longer valuable company van that was parked nearby that had the keys left inside along the way the perfect place to store the bloodied Darren Hiller for the return trip back to Temperance, South Dakota.

"Time to haul ass." announced Brick when he and his gang reconvened near their bikes. "Goldie's driving the cage."

The rest of the howlers hopped on their bikes and Brick lead the way back to Temperance and incidentally, back to Layla Quinn.
