Let's get it started

Despite Yousuke's feeling of apprehension after greeting the Symbol of Peace, the man didn't treat him poorly at all during the short time they'd been together. The blonde man was headed to meet David, Melissa's father, although neither Yousuke nor Melissa actually knew what they were to talk about. That being the case, they didn't stay for long with All Might.

Currently, the two teens were looking out a large window of the central tower at the beautiful landscape below.

"Wonder what they're talking about." thought Melissa out loud, like simply saying that would make Yousuke lose his sense of self-conservation and try to spy on All Might and David's meeting or something.

The teen didn't say anything, simply deadpanning at the blonde girl whose intentions were obvious.

"I'm not that foolish, Melissa." he commented, making the girl throw him an annoyed glance, before she seemed to remember a discussion they had at one point.

"...Are you really going to become a hero?" she asked.

"Yep."

"Even if you might get injured?" she continued, slightly nervous about her own friend's safety.

"Yup."

"All of your work to become a doctor... Will you really throw it away?"

"Mhm."

"And you won't have any regrets?" the girl asked her last question.

"I don't know." replied the boy.

"Huh?"

"I'd probably have some regrets, yeah. My main goal is still to save people. But now," Yousuke looked down at the people walking on the streets in I-Island with a smile on his face. "now, I can help people not get hurt in the first place, instead of just waiting for them to come to me to get treated."

Melissa looked at the smiling teen next to her, and she couldn't help but smile herself. It was a nice dream to have.

Kamino, Yokohama

"Hm." a man clad in a black suit was looking at several screens lined up on the wall before him. Though, looking would be a strong word for the man. It was closer to aiming his eyeholes at the screens. "It would seem that All Might already found his succesor."

"Do you intend to do anything about that, master?" asked an old bald man of a portly and short stature, the only other person in the room.

"No, our plan will continue as usual. Tomura won't be ready for some time, regardless."

"What of the Nomu made for Tomura's attack?" asked the old man.

"Make sure it isn't strong enough to kill All Might. His retirement must be televised for all to see. It can't happen inside UA." replied the man in a suit.

"Very well."

The man in the black suit looked at another screen which displayed the most likely list of students in class 1-A at UA. He looked satisfied with it, since it contained both All Might's successor and his spy.

|INTERMISSION|

Musutafu, Japan

Standing behind an U-shaped desk almost as tall as he was, a white dog-bear-mouse thing was currently sipping slowly from a cup of tea. He was looking at his phone, and even if it wasn't showing on the surface, he was somewhat agitated.

"Any news yet, principal?" asked a tall, curvaceous woman with sky blue eyes, who was wearing a white bodysuit.

"No." replied the animal-ish thing.

"Is All Might sure the kid is-" started a thin man with long blond hair spiked upwards, but he was interrupted by the principal.

"No. He hopes it wasn't him that did this, but if he managed to get his people on I-Island, that'd be very bad." the animal stated.

"How so?" interjected a humanoid block of cement with shut eyes.

"I-Island has lots of tech and hero support equipment not yet released for various reasons. If he, of all people, were to get all of that, his power would increase even more." replied a short man who was wearing what seemed to be a helmed made out of two excavator claws put together.

The principal grimaced.

"Not only that, but All Might received news from David Shield, his friend on I-Island, that he has made a Quirk Amplification Device. According to him, it has no drawbacks." he added.

All of the people present at the table sucked in a deep breath. That man with such a device was a scary thought.

At that moment, the principal received a message from the man in question, making all eyes look at him. The rodent-looking thing opened his phone and read the message in silence, before breathing a sigh of relief. As if broken from a trance, everyone else breathed out too.

"It seems that the boy didn't receive another quirk. Rather, it spontaneously evolved on its own. And... the boy intends to become a hero." said the principal.

"He'll want to come here then, no doubt. What will we do about that?" asked a man who looked as if he hadn't slept a wink in the last month or so.

"This situation made me realize a problem none of us had expected: kids with quirks from him coming to UA. The backgrounds of every wishful student must be intensively investigated from now on. Not only that, but current students will be checked too, just in case." spoke the principal.

"He seems to be preparing for something." added a man whose face was covered by an old-school gas mask.

"Entrance exams and the sport festival events will have to be altered to allow only those with heroic inclinations and a useful quirk in."

Most teachers didn't look thrilled at that decision, even if they understood the reasoning behind it: they had to teach the best of the best. They couldn't afford to lose time on less than that.

"Midnight, Snipe, Eraser Head, Vlad King, Ectoplasm, I want you looking into the current students' background for now. Power Loader, Cementoss, I want you and Thirteen replanning the entrance exams and altering the grounds from Alpha to Eta. I will inform Lunch Rush to increase the production of gummies for Recovery Girl's patients in advance." ordered the principal with the vitriol becoming of someone of his position, despite his small stature.

"Yes sir!" replied the other teachers, hurriedly going out of the conference room.

The principal slumped in his seat, rubbing his temples.

"Good grief."

Ain't that some shit?
