Advising the Lower Beings

NIdhogg POV:

That officially made it my hundredth demon. I had collected their mana cores, whether they were Archdemon or lower. Of course, for my evolution, I knew I probably could only consume Archdemons, but that number required was unknown. Besides, this was a good way to think about the direction for the Midnight Covenant.

If I had to dictate their every action, I wasn't going to be their leader. I was ok with providing them advice, but if it turned into a daycare, I wasn't interested. While I was out collecting these for them, I hope they were doing something. They had everything they needed to carry out the simple instructions I had given them.

Picking up my collection of mana cores, I mentally sighed. Maybe I was overthinking things. My faith in people were low due to my last life. I knew that people could always let you down and if given the chance, would forget everything you did for them and throw you under the bus.

I would like to think that these guys were different, but human nature was the same no matter where you go. But it was no matter, I would always just remain stronger than them, that way, the betrayal, should it happen, wouldn't matter.

Throwing open a Kumon, I return to the planet. I raise an eyebrow in surprise, as I find an entire temple was built in front of the altar where I step out of Kumon. It was huge resembling more of a fortress than a temple though, with a lovely shade of black and banner with my mask shape on them everywhere. It was actually pretty impressive.

My presence was immediately felt and several Fullbrings came to greet me. Among them was everyone but the ones who had yet to earn a name, along with another man who trembled before me.

"What progress have you done in my absence?" I ask preparing myself for disappointment.

Achlys speaks first, "I have established a branch, who dedicates themselves solely to healing, and alchemy. We just await funding to purchase plants to begin the process of developing potions and poisons."

Finished with her report, the person next to her, Odin, speaks up, "I have created a group who will be your eyes within not only the church, but everywhere else my lord."

Next was Chronos, the one who had Forsake Infinity. "I have reassured the security of our planet and have done a census among our group. I and many others will maintain the stableness of this planet. There won't be a single intruder without us knowing about them." He assures me. [A/N: I forgot to mention his name last time. My bad.]

Montgomery bows lower, "I will be head of the finances, distributing funding wherever we need it and making sure a constant flow of income comes our way. I have a group with me that will ensure the treasury is never empty."

Gerald speaks next, "I will be your voice my lord. It was decided that besides the initial members who gazed on your presence, only those who prove themselves may see you now. As your strategist, whatever plans you have, I will come up with the most efficient way to accomplish them."

I look at Lenatti, who flinches under my intense glare. "Should you ever need anyone dead, I will do everything within my power to make it happen."

I wasn't planning on taking it easy on her, despite her being a child. The first step was her being willing to use the powers I've granted her. The second step was proving to not be a burden. Only time would tell her effectiveness.

As they were done giving their report, I looked at the stranger among the group, who only trembled more when I looked towards him. "Who are you?" I ask him.

He freezes up, unable to speak to me. "He is Malcolm Oliver, the one who trained me." Oh, that was surprising. I didn't expect Gerald to have gotten him so soon. That makes things easier and will progress faster.

"Excellent. If I'm being honest, despite what I said before, I didn't expect much from you. If you all are looking for praise just by getting yourselves organized, you won't find it with me. If you couldn't do just simply this, then what use would I have for you." I admit to them.

They hold their heads down further, but I continue. "Malcolm was it? You will train everyone here that isn't Proficient. Odin will train them in close combat and weaponry. Meanwhile, Montgomery will use these mana cores to provide funds. We'll keep those that are of higher tiers for ourselves. Achlys will begin her project. I will continue on my own goals until I return. Once I do, I expect results. Do I make myself clear?"

Everyone stands, shouting, "Yes!" Excited at the prospect of serving me. I roll my eyes, or at least I think I do. Being a god after having minimal social interactions was mentally taxing. I'd rather be out hunting demons at this rate. Each of them scampered off doing what they were supposed to, as I tore open a Kumon back to the Demonrealm. I was planning on leaving them to their own devices for a while, as I focused my attention on evolving. Hopefully, one of us would get results.
