What puzzled Amelia more was when did her grandmother ask Daniel Cooper to investigate Sophia Parker, and why did she know nothing about it?
Just as she was about to ask, the door was suddenly flung open with a bang.
Then a figure rushed in and abruptly knelt down directly in front of her.
Amelia jumped in surprise, hastily standing up. "What do you think you're doing?"
Benjamin White's eyes were bloodshot as he gritted his teeth and said, "Amelia Foster, I beg you, please show mercy and spare my mother."
Amelia looked utterly baffled. She hadn't done anything, so what was this about sparing Sophia Parker?
This was utterly nonsensical!
Daniel Cooper chuckled softly, speaking leisurely, "Always kneeling at the first sign of trouble. Mr. White indeed learnt well from Mrs. White."
Madam White also frowned at this, "Benjamin, a man's gold rests within his knees. If you have something to say, stand up and say it."
