Chapter 6

The whole palace was silent.

Ramos had sent out a dozen of guards to find his sister while Queen Padaram had cried all day besides her husband who sat silently.

She knew her daughter wasn't going to be found nor returned. Everyone who went missing was never found and Princess Leah's case wasn't going to be any different.

Ramos's hatred for the witches had increased,he couldn't cry nor mourn his sister's missing as he had channeled all his pains to the witches whom he assumed had kidnapped her.

It had been two days since the ball and still no news about any of the ladies who went missing.

On the third day the cabinet members called a meeting with the Royal family.

"Your majesties may you live long" They all greet.

"So shall it be" Padaram and Laban reply while Ramos stays silent.

Elder Zadok stands up to address the royals and cabinet members acting sad like the princess's departure had saddened him.

Ramos saw through his facade,he didn't even need anyone to act like they actually cared all he needed was his sister alive.

"Your majesties,it's been three days since our princess went missing along with some other ladies...." Zadok says

Ramos felt bile rise in his throat.

If the Witches could fool every other person including his parents they couldn't fool him,he was certain they where fully responsible for the kidnapping of every person who had gone missing in their kingdom including his sister.

He had concluded they where being used for some kind of rituals, that the Witches had just made it look like even their own people where going missing when in reality It was a lie.

A coup.

"The Cabinet members have come up with a theory that of other villagers who had been kidnapped haven't been found then there isn't much we can do" Elder Zadok says.

"So what are you saying we should do now?" King Laban asks.

"Conduct a funeral for our princess so that her soul can really rest" Elder Zadok says.

This has Ramos fuming as he stands up in anger.

"Who have you the right to decide that? have her corpse been found? why should we conduct a funeral for someone who is alive somewhere?" Ramos yells.

Silence envelopes the whole room.

"Prince Ramos,am sorry if I have said the wrong thing,it was a joint decision by the whole board for the good of the Royal family and people, let the funeral be conducted so that people could be given the time to mourn their princess and let go" Elder Zadok says.

Ramos is about to give him a befitting answer when his mother cuts him off.

"We have heard you all,and we think it's the best thing to do. We should prepare for a funeral this evening" Queen Padanaram says.

At that moment the meeting was officially over leaving a fuming Ramos standing there.

"Why did you do that mum?" He yells.

"Because you need to mourn her and let go,she isn't coming back" Queen Padanaram says.

"What makes you so sure?" Ramos asks.

"A mother's instinct" She says.

Ramos stood utterly disoriented,he never got the chance to appreciate his sister for always telling him the truth and covering up for him.

He never even fufilled his responsibility as a elder brother nor as a prince. On the contrary he watched her fufill the responsibility as both prince and princess.

Ramos never imagined nor believed he would loose his sister so early nor have to conduct a funeral without even seeing her corpse.
