Caroline watched him look at her in disbelief at first, but then a smile etched on his face. He probably never expected her to do something like that for him. 

But little did he know what was going inside that mind of hers, for she wasn't someone who liked to leave loose ends.

Turning towards Manila, Caroline asked, "Oh, and by the way, did you send flowers for Dr. Rothman?"

"Oh yes! Twenty long-stemmed white tulips and a thank-you note. Exactly the way you had texted."

"Thanks, Manila!" Caroline replied. "God knows what would have happened if he had not come in time for the surgery." And she turned towards Morpheous, who seemed a bit puzzled hearing the conversation.

"Do you remember Morpheous that afternoon when I reprimanded you about where you were?"

"Yeah." He faintly replied.
