Harbinger of Calamity

a Neet who has worked hard his entire life, who has experienced the vicissitudes of life, living much of his life in poverty, depression and drug addiction, at the end of his difficult road, dies of cancer at the age of 26. Having suffered his entire life trying to face the cruel reality of the world, always chasing higher pursuits and exploring ideas but his pursuit of truth only leads to his own collapse. In his last days instead of weeping, he laughs, he laughs at the absurdity of it all. It seemed as if fate had played the biggest joke on him, he had taken too seriously what had no value. What is life? a blink of an eye! as unreal as a dream, what a mysterious world, we are just born out of nowhere only to vanish later on. A profound sigh was uttered "If only I wasn't dealt such bad cards! I was made for the heights yet here I am crashed in the abyss of life."  Looking at the world he was soon to leave, he sighed "Humanity truly has fallen in this era, it has crashed from the heights of embodying divinity to succumbing to their animalistic selves becoming creatures of decadence, slaves to pleasure, lust and the lowly desires of the body. Truly my heart weeps for the tragedy of humanity, the industrial revolution, a slave society disguised as 'modern society', poisonous foods filled with chemicals, an entire network engineered to enslave minds called the internet, an absolute infestation of decadence and mediocrity in the very Human spirit that used to overpower all. All humanity is enslaved, what can't parents even teach? they are slaves themselves. Atleast in this life, I refused to be a slave, I was a free being, atleast in the later half of my life, I followed my own passions and lived my own life but in the end, sigh I failed! But oh well, who ever lived a perfect life in this world? as the darkness of death engulfs him, he fully accepts it and is gone. A pair of eye opened and an absolutely stunning sight appeared, he was transmigrated. For the first time in so long, he could see clearly without glasses or contacts, he could feel physically powerful instead of a sickly body and a destroyed pleasure system. He resolves that this time, this life, He would pursue his own freedom! He would never give up on himself and he will walk his own path to the very end. "That's right, I was wrong depending on sympathy. Cold, heartless, I won't forgive them, they can't be forgiven! That's right, it wasn't me who was wrong, it was the world that was wrong!" A descent towards Madness. A cruel world where no refuge can be found, countless obstacles obstructing one's path, mountains of corpses, an abyss of blood, a heart of darkness, a cruel fate to all living beings. No heart or soul, only an abyss of despair and a heart to ascend beyond. ... Blood frenzy anima

Yugo layed on the grass outside of the cave watching Ecto cook.

"Sigh, when will you get better? even the human would cook better than this." Yugo teased Ecto as the latter was cooking.

"Shut up! stop metioning him! Hmph, just watch as I cook!" Ecto spoke with eagerness.

He extended his hand over the giant pot while doing all sorts of grandiose weird movements yet nothing happened.

"Sigh, this guy can't cook." Yugo said as he held his laughter.

"Shut up!" Ecto gritted his teeth as his face turned red.

Ecto made the same movements again but this time, a bit of electricity appeared on his palm, it crackled before rushing towards the ingredients in the pot.

Yugo's eye slightly opened in suprise.

"Ahh noo!" Ecto spoke as he watched the ingredients get burned and the meal ruined.

He expected to be scolded but Yugo only put his hand on his mushroom head as he smiled : "You stole the thunder spell didn't you?"

Ecto felt chills running down his spine : "Nooo! I swear I didn't! The elder was just sleeping beside it and I took a small look."

"Hahaha you pesky brat, I'm not gonna lie, I'm impressed. It seems you have an affinity with lightning path."

"Really?!" Ecto enthusiastically spoke.

"But spells are dangerous so don't you dare steal another spell! got it?" Yugo lightly punched Ecto's head as he shot a threatening look at him, the latter felt chills up his spine.

"I understand."

"Good haha, to celebrate, let's cook! Go tell Flobo to get me the ingredients and a rank 2 anima."

Ecto's mouth watered just thinking about it, eating a rank 2 anima was extremely rare even for them!

It didn't take long before Flobo, the elder with the long beard brought the anima and the ingredients before leaving.

Yugo began his cooking, all sorts of exotic ingredients were thrown in the giant pot, some had no relation to each other but in this hands of the miniman immortal, they all combined perfectly.

Yugo didn't stunt on using the wildest food path mortal killer moves.

Killer moves were moves made by using various anima together, mixing their abilities or combining them in a specific way to produce a unique result that a single anima wouldn't be able to produce.

Even though Yugo only cultivated food path as a secondary path but he always experimented on food path animas and cooking techniques.

Cooking anima wasn't easy at all, for the meal wasn't just a meal but rather a refinement, a nourishing meal needed powerful refinement capability, not only was Yugo training his food path attainment but even his refinement path attainment.

His refinement path experience made Yugo treat the meal as if it was an alchemical process, all ingredients had their strengths enhanced and their weakness removed.

The process would look incomprehensible to a person without food path attainment, Yugo did not stunt nor hesitate on using poisonous ingredients, he knew the right combination of ingredients and the cooking process, not only would the toxins naturally disappear but the flavor would become even better.

Ecto always went based on inspiration, to a person with such mastery in food path, he nearly always relied on instant inspiration to create his stunning meals.

After a wild show, Ecto's mouth was left agape and drooling with the movements used and the wild appetising scent that invaded his consciousness and almost made him go unconscious by its intensity.

As Yugo was about to finish however, he couldn't help but sigh.

The meal was gurgling and ready to be perfected but he lacked an ingredient.

"Sigh, this meal is nearly perfect but it requires a blood frenzy anima as the last ingredient but we run out of them and collecting them is hard requiring time and an elder or supreme elder to spot their concealment. I guess I have no choice but to end the meal prematurely."

"Nooo!!!" Ecto wildly cried out, he wanted to taste the best possible meal but reality was cruel.

However just as Yugo was about to end the cooking, he turned his head.

He felt a change in the space of the environment as if something was about to appear.

A purple formation shone as Nameless appeared.

Yugo rushed at high speed jumping in the air, Ecto only saw his figure disappear.

"Got it!!" Yugo grasped a red cicada in the middle of the air before he immediately threw it, sending it flying to the hot pot.

As soon as the cicada entered the soup in the giant pot, an explosion happened as a huge amount of red smoke and heat rose from the pot forming a mushroom cloud.

"Hahah, the Heavens have answered our prayer! They couldn't bear to see such a good meal ruined." Yugo wildly laughed as he spoke.

It was only then that he noticed Nameless laying on the ground full of injuries.

"Did this guy attract the wrath of the Heavens or something? Just gathering beast cores and he's almost dead again."

Yugo casually moved a finger in Nameless's direction as blue chains enveloped his body before they began healing the various light injuries that covered his body from head to toe.

Although Nameless didn't care about minor injuries which were inevitable when crossing such a giant environment but the accumulation of them and the countless twists and various types of attacks left him full of injuries which he didn't notice due to the adrenaline in his veins.

"What happened?" The minimen immortal asked.

A purple figure came out of the remaining purple dao marks on his body, its figure looked faint, very different from its vivid purplish image of before.

It spoke relating everything that happened.

"So not only did this unlucky bastard collect beastcores and risked his life drinking one, but he even dared to put those beastcores inside a beast before awakening it and unleashing havoc on the forest. This same beast was the new beast emperor of the area and not only that but even had a high amount of animas of all type ranging from attack, defense, concealment, to even an extremely rare anima that can shrink the body and even a flying anima! And to top it off, the beast was infected with the blood frenzy anima making it a frenzied mess."

He continued : "Is this a joke or some kinda of performanc? there no way a person can be this unlucky, right?"

"Sigh, it was my fault for telling him to put the beast cores in its stomach."

"That doesn't matter, it would have awakened anyway by an intruder near its body especially since the beast seems to have been corrupted by the blood frenzy anima when it was hibernating, well he's alive now, it doesn't matter."

"But..."

"what a shame, the raptor always have thick meat, such a beat up beast would paradoxically be tender and tasty..." Yugo kept speaking as his mind began to drool.

"Sigh, it's decided. Ecto tell the elder to prepare a new banquet! and don't touch the pot soup, we are having raptor meat for dinner!!" Yugo spoke as he began to ascend in the air before he flew at high speed after he finished speaking.

"Let's goo!!" Ecto's mouth watered as he run back towards the cave to find the elder.
