Standing over the smoldering remains of Logan’s body.
Holland comes to hug Lissie where she’s standing, holding Curtis’ hand. She holds her closer than ever before.
“We need to get someplace safe,” Nihira says, tearing her eyes away from her friend’s remains. “Where’s Damien?”
“When we, uh… When we saw the dead coming up through cracks in the streets, he ran to the Manor to help Laube and Will,” Hayley answers, a haunted look in her eyes.
“We should get back there,” Nihira decides.
She breaks into a run, the others falling into step behind her.

At this point, Will is very aware he’s lucky to still be alive. Thankfully, they’d left him with plenty of ammo.
These things aren’t vampires, though. They’re not really anything. Shadows, sure, but more like remnants. Things that died, but hadn’t been twisted into something else by wherever Iblis came from yet.
