Alot to Explain [2]

"Junya hear me out." Alice searched for something with her phone before displaying it on the TV before them. While Junya gazed in wonder he spotted his name on the news section.

"What's this!?" Junya was looking at a table of the Apex families in Guram. The family with his name was ranked the 5th.

"They are the Wotanbe family. Before the Eve of Chaos, they were a large business family that held large shares in big companies and sold oil. Anything that has to do with that stuff is a straight bank.

Though After the Eve of Chaos, things changed for them; like everyone else. They lost practically half of their family members during that battle, but the remaining members received some insanely strong blessings, and it was those who were some of the first Mobsters we ever had.

After that, they helped with the recreation of society and with that, their position rose due to their influence and golden hand within the business. As of right now though, they are capturing lands for us to access resources - a new project put forward by the government and the B.M.A to expand."

Alice's explanation fizzled out, giving him time to think. Junya's eyes drifted over at the family's photos and noticed their hair colour was different.

"My hair's different"

"Well, when you're as rich as your grandfather one woman simply isn't enough. Your mom might be a bastard child. Probably why it was easier to cut connections" Alice suggested.

Junya was left to ponder before he simply shrugged. "I got my last name from my mom not them, It won't bother me"

"Well look at you all mature..." Alice joked. "Well, I'm sure I can be a better Aunt. I'm simply here to help"

"And I thank you for that," Junya never wanted to be that guy, so he thanked her for her good intentions. He couldn't totally trust her now, but he knew that he needed help.

"Don't mention it," Alice then backtracked the conversation. "How often do your urges come?"

"It only happened once after I ran away from my shelter" Junya answered truthfully.

"Tell me what triggered it." Alice gazed at his face, his expression was drawn and taut. Secretly she already knew the gist of it from Amus, but she needed to hear from him.

Junya felt annoyed more than depressed thinking about what happened. It was like watching your younger self do something embarrassing and you cringe when you recall it. But this occupied a darker part of his mind. He glossed over it, trying to make it seem far cooler than it already was, which made him sound more of an idiot like it was no big deal.

"Ahh, I see, she cheated on you and you wanted to kill yourself," Alice said bluntly. She read the confusion on Junya's face and explained.

"Just think logically. You wanted to kill her for cheating on you, but you just wanted to kill yourself. I understand that feeling all too well. In fact, the 3rd highest cause of death for Mobsters is a suicide, you might possess a strong blessing but not be strong mentally"

Junya thought her claim was ridiculous but from her perspective, he could see how she got to that conclusion.

"That's not the important thing though, can you remember when you got your blessing?" Alice asked.

During his one tracked state, he was able to recall his actions. "I attacked a Pixie and… I remember them killing me, or at least I assume they did. After that, though I don't know what happened "

Curiously, Alice looked at him. 'That would mean he ran around senselessly. If he is hereafter killing those Pixies he almost certainly ran rampant for days in whatever crazed state he was in. Since he received his blessing in a near-death state it must have been its attempt to keep him alive'

"Tell me your level," Alice queried (AN: Level is the same as rating)

Junya figured it was ok and looked at his Elo Command.

------------------------

[Name: Junya Wotanbe]

Level: 3

Elo: 5/60

Blessing: Fallen Slaughter (Angel)

------------------------

"It's Three" Junya answered.

"That would make you fall in the F Rate category" Alice sounded depressed. She caught up on herself and tried to hide her disappointment in his weakness.

"Don't worry about it, all that will change with time. If it makes you feel better Amus told me about your manifestation" She added teasingly, piquing Junya's interest.

"But… I- I don't know if I trust you enough to tell you though" Alice smirked mockingly, throwing Junya's attitude back at him. He felt annoyed but never revealing his blessing to her, or anyone for that matter was a luxury he fought for.

He was barely sure how the world worked and felt he needed to take necessary precautions.

"It's fine, I'm just pulling yer leg, '' Alice chortled.

Junya clicked his tongue not finding her attempts humorous in the slightest. However, so far, her attitude was unpredictable, and she seemed genuine to Junya. Her questions were straightforward, and she never had any hidden agenda.

They talked for a couple more minutes getting to know each other, she asked him about his past and things he liked to do. Junya wasn't really into hobbies so he could only say training, to which Alice would laugh and mutter 'You won't like it for much longer'.

From conversing with her Junya perceived her as vibrant and nonchalant most times, He knew she was a Mobster, so it was unlikely she acted like this when she became serious. As for her strength, Junya knew it was something egregious from the reflexive kick he got earlier.

They both talked until the night fell over the sky.

Somehow their topic deviated into Alice explaining the internet and Wetube, her rant covered the latest technology and research using Elo and trends that were popular.

Junya was slightly surprised that they were able to live like this despite being destined for doom at any given moment.

"I know what you're thinking but civilization has to continue with any sort of peace and it's our job to make sure that we uphold it. It is worth it sometimes, like when a kid runs up to you on the road and gives you a present, thanking you.

Humans have an uncanny ability to adapt to any situation, it's just what we do best." Alice spoke with admiration and pride. Junya wishes he could relate.

"Damn it's already 9 p.m., I had a reservation at a restaurant," Alice said suddenly, jumping up after glancing at the clock on the wall.

"Are we going to one of those fancy places?" Junya asked recalling something similar a long time ago.

"Yeah, get ready before we're late" Alice started changing, prompting Junya to turn around.

"I only have these clothes and nothing else," Junya said looking at the full white suit he was discharged in. Instead of shoes, Junya sported a pair of plastic slippers.

"Eh don't worry about that. I can get you some clothes tomorrow. Besides we need to get your uniform made for school" Alice walked to the door already changed into fresh clothes. She wasn't dressed lavishly, only a pair of Jeans and a red top to match her hair.

She wore flat shoes and avoided make-up aside from a dash of lip gloss.

"I'm going to school?"

"You're eighteen, you should have finished college and would be starting University now, Of course, you're going to school, you think I would let you stay here forever?" Alice hissed through her teeth. "Come on we're leaving"

She was already out the door leaving Junya to simply oblige.
