God System: The Path Beyond Heavens

One fateful day, Luke was betrayed by the person he loved the most, leaving him with a deep sense of betrayal. Consumed by a desire for revenge, Luke's life was abruptly cut short in a tragic accident. However, fate had other plans for him. Just as his soul was about to depart to reincarnate, a system intervened, offering him a second chance to seek vengeance and reunite with his beloved family. Luke found himself reincarnated in a new world, vastly different from the one he had known. Here, infected zombies and animals underwent horrifying mutations, transforming into terrifying monsters that launched large-scale attacks on humanity. In the face of impending destruction, humans constructed walls and established fortified cities, becoming humanity's last bastions of hope. The trials faced by mankind during this period were known as the "Nirvana Period." In this harsh and unforgiving environment, human physical strength gradually evolved and developed. Martial arts flourished, and human capabilities surpassed their previous limits. The qualitative improvement in human physical strength led to the rise of the finest warriors known as the "Star Warriors." This is the tale of Luke's journey as he embarks on the path to becoming a Star Warrior and reclaims his lost revenge.

It's Not Transmigration But Reincarnation!

"P-Please, sp-spare me; I-I would never do it again," the trembling Tony pleaded, his voice shaking with fear.

He could barely move; his body was wracked with pain from his destroyed limbs and broken bones.

He gazed up at the towering figure before him, desperately hoping for mercy.

Luke just watched in silence, his expression unreadable.

"Heh! You want me to stop."

"When I asked you to stop at that time, did you stop? You and that bastard Jasper just kept on torturing me, laughing while I was holloing because of my damaged limbs."

The memories in Luke's mind kept replaying, fueling the rage that burned within him. He clenched his fists, feeling the familiar surge of power course through his veins.

Tony's pleas for mercy fell on deaf ears as Luke's anger consumed him.

"I n-never wa-anted any of this; please, I beg you, l-let me go," Tony stammered, tears streaming down his battered face.

Luke's eyes narrowed with a flicker of sadistic satisfaction as he watched Tony's desperate pleas for mercy.

"Don't worry, I'm not like you and that bastard Jasper," Luke sneered, his voice dripping with venom.

"I know how to show mercy and forgiveness; …I will forgive you," Luke said with a cruel smile.

"T-Thank you," Tony stuttered, relief washing over him as he processed Luke's unexpected words.

But as Luke's smile widened, Tony's hope turned into a chilling realization.

Slowly, Luke reached out a hand and held Tony's head in a vice-like grip, and with a force that spanned his entire strength, he twisted Tony's neck.

|Crack|

The cracking sound echoed through the place as Tony's lifeless body slumped to the ground.

There was a shocked expression that froze on Tony's face, forever etched in a moment of fear as he died.

Luke's sadistic satisfaction grew even more.

[Ding! You've killed a Late Warrior Apprentice Stage Human. +50 God Points.]

"Your actions have consequences; even if I forgive you, a price must be paid." With those words, Luke turned away, leaving.

The alley was covered with the bodies of 11 other men, their lives brutally taken by Luke.

Blood stained the pavement, creating a dreadful scene.

The air was heavy with the stench of death, but for Luke, he didn't feel any remorse. If he had become numb to the scene in front of him,

He knew that the previous him would have vomited at the sight of such carnage. But now, it was nothing.

When he got these new memories, it's like his personality had been entirely replaced with someone else.

He couldn't explain it, but Luke knew that something had changed.

[Ding! 50 God Points have been deducted.]

A notification popped into Luke's head, interrupting his thoughts.

He looked around to see a mysterious power surge around him, causing the air to crackle with electricity.

The bodies on the ground started dissolving, leaving only wisps of mist, and the blood that covered the floor disappeared—even the blood on his clothes and on his body, like it was never there.

Luke stood frozen as he checked his body.

"You even fixed the cracked wall and floor," Luke said to the system, not knowing something like that was possible.

[Everything is possible if there are enough God points.] The system replied with a voice that seemed to echo in Luke's mind.

"In the first place, system, what are God's points?" Luke asked, his curiosity piqued.

[Sorry, host, but that is information I cannot disclose at this time.] The system responded cryptically, leaving Luke even more intrigued.

"Fine."

Luke didn't bother and decided to move on from the topic; he knew that the system wouldn't answer his question.

When did a system ever tell its host about a secret?

Anyway, he had more important things to focus on.

With a cold look, Luke turned away and left the alley, using his Cosmic Energy as a way to leave through the top of the building, since he didn't want anyone to see him leave the alley.

Luke went back home when the night had already fallen and quietly made his way up to his room. The door creaked as he pushed it open, revealing a dimly lit space filled with books and scattered papers.

Luke took a deep breath and closed the door behind him.

"Can you tell me now what just happened?" Luke asked the system.

He still didn't understand where these memories came from or why they felt like his memories.

Luke needed an explanation, and the only thing that could provide answers was the system.

He sat down at his cluttered desk and waited for the system to speak.

As Luke waited, a womanly, robotic voice echoed in his head.

[The host is not wrong. The memories you are experiencing are yours,] the system said. Luke's heart skipped a beat as he tried to comprehend the implications of what he had just heard.

"What do you mean by that?"

"How could these memories belong to me? I'm not Luke of this world." Luke tried to make sense of the situation, his mind racing with questions.

The system's response only added to his confusion.

In the beginning, the host didn't transmigrate to this world but has been reincarnated in it. There is no previous Luke since, in the first place, you were always Luke," the system explained.

Luke's confusion turned into shock as he processed the revelation.

"W-Wait, how is this possible!" Luke stuttered, his voice trembling with disbelief.

He couldn't comprehend how he could have always been Luke in this world. The system's explanation seemed impossible.

"Are you joking with me? How could I be the same Luke in this world? I just got transmigrated to this world a couple of days ago."

Yes, he clearly remembers that he woke up as Luke in a completely unfamiliar place, with no recollection of anything.

[…]

The system sighed, sensing Luke's growing frustration.

[I understand your confusion, host, but there is no need to panic. The concept of time in this world is not linear to your previous world. While you may have only arrived here a few days ago, your soul has traversed here earlier." Luke's eyes widened, his mind struggling to grasp the magnitude of this revelation.

"If that's true, why didn't I remember anything before? Why can't I remember my previous experiences, and just now I recall everything?" Luke said.

[When the host died in his previous life, the host was in his twenties, so when the host was reborn into a new body, the host brain was still developing and wouldn't be able to accept more than 20 years of life and would have caused damage to the host brain, so the system sealed the host memories and waited for the right time to show them.] The system explained.

"That doesn't make sense; I've read many novels about Mc's being reincarnated with their memories intact, some with 20 thousand years of memories, so 20 years shouldn't be that hard" Luke argued.

The system replied, [Those are fictional stories, host. In reality, a baby brain wouldn't be able to handle such an immense amount of memory without causing irreversible damage. The system has a responsibility to ensure the host's well-being, and therefore decided to seal the memories until the host's brain was fully developed and capable of handling them.]

"Oh! That makes sense now," Luke said, finally understanding the system's reasoning. "So, all this time, I was Luke."

Luke was in deep thought as many feelings surged through his heart and mind.
