Chapter 3 - First Treasure

Xin Jin's eye nearly twitched when he say his first mission.

what did this System mean when it meant Steal her heart?

'You mean make her fall for me, or sleep with her?' He asked internally

[Yes. Either. If you can sleep with her it can be said you've claimed her heart, no?]

'I...suppose so.'

[What's wrong with you? I give you the chance to bang a bunch of hot women and you sound like your hesitating. Is your Dick broke?]

'Hell No it ain't!' he yelled

"So, now that you're awake, what do you plan on doing?" Luo Mei asked as they enjoyed a light breakfast along with fragrent tea.

"I'm not quite sure." Xin Jin replied as he held his chin.

"Is there perhaps a city nearby?" he asked after a moment

"There are a few relatively close by." She said after a second of thought "Sky City is the closest and most well developed." Luo Mei explained

"Excellent. We'll head there first." Xin Jin said with a slight smile

"Wait...what?" Luo Mei couldn't even react as Xin Jin grabbed her delicate and soft hand and made their way outside

She wanted to resist at first but when she realized how nice his hand felt she just blushed and followed obediently

Once outside, he asked which direction Sky City was, and Luo Mei pointed towards to southeast. After getting a direction, they both chaneled some spiritual energy and flew towards the city.

After roughly 45 minutes of flying, while they were telling funny stories, suddenly Xin Jin saw the glint of metal coming from the trees bellow.

"Let's stop here for a moment." Said Xin Jin

"Mmm." Replied Luo Mei shyly

After landing, it didn't take the two long before they stumbled upon an old skeleton in the hollow of a big tree.

The object that had caught Xin Jin's eye turned out to be the skeletons ring.

As it turned out, it was a Storage Ring. A very sought after item in the immortal world.

"I wonder what's inside..." He muttered

Xin Jin injected of bit of his spirituality into the ring and suddenly the space inside and the items it contained appeared before his eyes.

What he found nearly made his eyes pop out of their sockets.

10,000 Taels of gold, 1000 Spirit Stones, 3 Spirit King Level Techniques, a rank 4 Artifact called the Blade of Impermanence, and some kind of Cube with intricate engravings on its surface. It didn't seem to have a keyhole or any other noticeable way to open it.

Xin Jin could barely contain himself. based off the memories of this worlds previous Xin Jin, this is basically an insane fortune. It would probably take 1000 peasants their whole lives and still never get close to that amount.

After going over his gains, Xin Jin put the Storage Ring on his left index finger.

He once again took Luo Mei's hand before setting of for the city again.

Not long after, the two of them arrived at the gate to the city. All of the dozen or so guards were Spirit Apprentice Level 5 or above while the captain was Spirit Warrior Level 3.

When the Guard Captain, whose name was Lu Bing, saw the aura of Luo Mei, he immediately let them enter the city without paying while calling her 'Senior' and giving a look of envy towards Xin Jin.

Xin Jin didn't mind the looks of jealousy that he was receiving.

If everything went according to his plan, then before long, there wouldn't be anyone that wasn't at his beck and call.

"What's your plan now?" Luo Mei asked curiously now that they were inside the city.

"You'll see." Xin Jin replied vaguely

He quickly asked directions before leading them to a housing authority.

"Welcome to Jade Dragon housing! how may I be of service?" Asked a cheerful looking middle aged mortal woman who had a few wrinkles but was over all still pretty by normal standards.

"Yes, My wife and I would like to purchase a new home with a courtyard please." Xin Jin said politely with a slight smile as he wrapped his right hand around Luo Mei's waist.

His hand moved so quickly that she didn't even have time to react. All she could due was look down to hide her blush.

She was not expecting Xin Jin to be so bold. Though, he did appear to be quite handsome.

"Certainly." said the saleswoman with a big smile.

"We have a new home that it up for sale. It has three buildings, the main one has the master bedroom and bath, and 2 smaller rooms for children.

The second building is for the guests and servants with a total of four rooms with a shard bathroom.

The final building is a joint kitchen and storage room along with a well. The rear courtyard also has an apricot tree. so you can expect fruit in the springtime." She explained

"And how much is that in total?" Xin Jin asked even though it didn't matter since he knew he had enough.

"It will cost a total of 180 taels of gold in total." said the saleswoman after calculating.

"Deal." said Xin Jin as he took the money from his storage ring and set it on the counter.

After signing a simple contract, he received the key and given directions to his new home.

Along the way, Luo Mei finally mustered the courage to ask a question.

"Um..." She started

"Yes?" Xin Jin responded with a raised brow

"Why, why did you call me your wife?" she asked hesitantly

"Oh!" He replied as if coming to a realization

"Well, I figured that if we're going to spend a little bit more time together, we should have a cover. why, do you hate it?" Xin Jin asked with a deep expression

Luo Mei hesitated for a moment as she thought back on all the years she had been alone since her mother ascended to the next realm.

In addition to being quite handsome, she also found Xin Jin to be very kind.

"No." She said softly. "I don't hate it."

"Good." He said with a smile and a glint in his eye.
