Chapter 12 - Shocking the Crowd 2

The dress immediately caught the attention of both Xin Jin and Luo Mei almost instantly. The former because her couldn't help visualize himself taking it off Luo Mei, And the latter because she felt that the dress suited her wind based techniques.

The both turned to look at each other at the same time, causing Xin Jin to laugh slightly and Luo Mei to blush and turn away slightly to hide her embarrassed face.

Meanwhile, Han Yi was so immersed in her new sword that she was completely oblivious to the current goings-on.

Luo Mei stared at Xin Jin for a second before asking a question, "Can I?"

"Sure." He replied with a smile.

Just as he was about to use the device powered by Spirit Stones that indicated his desire to bid, someone else beat him to it.

Accross the way, Xin Jin noticed that the signal of a booth lit up. This alone didn't surprise him. What surprised him was who exactly was bidding.

It was none other than Young Master Huo who was at this moment gazing in his direction with an expression that was like he wanted to tear him limb from limb.

"Heh." Xin Jin said with a smirk.

If this kid wanted to play with money, he would show him just what playing with money looked liked.

Huo Shaoyang had just bid for the lvl 5 Spirit Treasure with 250 Spirit Stones when he noticed Xin Jin accross the way glance in his direction.

Upon seeing this enemy of his, Huo Shaoyang gritted his teeth so hard he nearly heard them crack.

Xin Jin immediately hit the button to send in his bid.

"Wow! it seems like someone is interested. We now have a bid of 500 Spirit Stones. Can I get 550?" Said the auction hostess with excitement.

"600!" Shouted Huo Shaoyang as he increased the bid. He must get that defensive treasure since he was unable to get the sword. And He believed he had a good shot since the only one against him was a hick nobody. albeit a handsome one.

Xin Jin didn't bother speaking as he simply smiled and increased his bid.

"850!" Shouted the hostess

'Dammit!' Huo Shaoyang yelled internally

His father had only given him 6000 Spirit Stones to work with. If the bid went any higher, he may not be able to buy the final item being auctioned that his father ordered him to get before leaving the sect.

"9-900!" He put out as a last ditch effort.

Xin Jin by this point knew he had won, and put in the final amount.

"1100 Spirit Stones! Any other takers?

Going Once...

Twice...

Sold! To the gentleman in booth number 1."

After the bidding was successful, Xin Jin handed over the stones and got the dress in return.

'Dammit! Dammit! Dammit!' Huo Shaoyang raged internally. He wanted nothing more than to vent his anger, but unfortunately, he still had things to do.

"Thank you so much!" Luo Mei was so excited about the dress that she immediately glomped

onto him, wrapped his neck with her arms, and gave him a big kiss.

"Of course, what use is money if I don't spend it?" Xin Jin said as he returned her kiss.

At this point, the auction was beginning to die down.

The last few items we also quite grand.

There were a set of blackened steel armor defensive treasure, An assortment of scrolls, from attack to defense formations, as well as another sword that was lightning based, none of which caught the trios eyes.

All of these items were sold at immense cost. The least of which was the lvl 4 lightning sword that sold for 1800 Spirit Stones.

Surprisingly, it was the scrolls that went for the most for a total of 3200 Spirit Stones.

It was now that the dimmed lights in the auction hall brightened back up as the hostess cleared her throat and prepared to speak.

"Ahem, If I could have everyone's attention, I will now present tonights main attraction."

After saying this, the hostess stepped aside to allow a person carrying a small silver tray covered in a piece of white sil

Under the curious and expectant gazes of the audience, the female hostess removed the thin layer of silk, revealing what lay underneath to all those present.

Xin Jin gazed down at the crowd that was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

And almost as if the silence a moment ago had all been an illusion, everyone, including those in private booths erupted in shock and disbelief.

"No Way! Impossible!" Shouted one woman who appeared to be a member of some minor noble family

"I-is t-that...no...it can't be..." mumbled someone else.

"You have seen right folks, this is indeed a piece of legendary Dragon Blood Jade!" announced the hostess enthusiastically

"This magnificent item came to us by way of a very special friend of our establishment. The Jade is in one piece, roughly the size of a large lemon. It can be fashioned into an ornament of some kind or it can be used to make a fabulous set of jewelry that will be the envy of the heavens." She added with excitement.

After a moment to steady herself, the hostess announced that the bidding for the Dragon Blood Jade was about to begin.

"The starting price will be 500 Spirit Stones with each individual increase required to be at least 100 stones."

A few people at this point got up from their seats and left since the final item would be fought over by all the powerhouses, to which they did not belong.

Others however, despite lacking the funds to purchase the Dragon Blood Jade, still wanted to see who would ultimately end up with it.

It was at this moment that Xin Jin and the others heard another knock on the door, this time gentle and polite.

Xin Jin had a pretty decent idea of who it could be.

After opening the door, Xin Jin saw none other Gu Ling holding a small box made out of exquisite red wood with a gold inlay

"This is?" He raised his eyebrow slightly

Instead of replying, Gu Ling simply smiled and opened the box, revealing a few pieces of the most stunning jewelry Xin Jin had ever seen in either of his lives.
