Genesis: tales of the fallen

okay , let's begin my story. See ,I was born 50000 years ago. No name ,No thoughts ,no memories, no mother nor a will of my own.

Spawned with 500 others ,we were dropped to earth. It was like a haven created only for us, we knew exactly what we wanted ,how to get it, what we needed and how to make it.

We crafted and shaped the earth, gave meaning to the inferior lives that praised us as deities. Two thousand years later , Father announced his retirement. What he left for us was nothing more than a meer fruit, the apple of Eden.

He told us that only 1 of 500 of us could have it, along with his position ,rising above all of creation. Nothing but a game to him. Though to this day it remains hard to believe that it only took a single apple to divide us.

Unable to overcome their greed, 6 of my brothers decided to go against father's word and search for the fruit on earth, they created beasts that turned the planet upside down searching for it. But they also terrorized the little lambs below ...and creating a life without father's consent is a sin no celestial dare commit.

This brought their fall ,one by one ,they all fell from grace. His light had grown dim, their wings were plugged out and hell was created...just for them. That's when I realized...love ,even a father's love was nothing but an illusion. Basically a load of bullshit.

The beasts my brothers had created still roamed the earth ,I was sent with 5 others to hunt down and exterminate every last one of them. Only father was allowed to give or take life. that's how we justified our actions ,we were called Grigori or the watchers as some may say. They bred and we hunted , over and over and over again.

For 5000 years ,this senseless war continued.

During my time protecting the earth ,I earned praises from the mortals along with a name, Icarus, the light chaser.

As Time passed, I had grown rather attached to this world. I learned everything about it. Its formation , terrains , inhabitants , their beastiality,traditions,cultures , habits, likes , dislikes, anything I could find to pass the time.

By the end of the 5 thousand years, I had become conscious of my existence, something that shouldn't be possible. I was bored ,I was tired ,I was lazy, and I started to feel empty. My life had no meaning, my endless empty life started to feel like a curse.

I wanted something to drive me. I had grown envious of the humans who lived on borrowed time...so I started searching. Another hundred years passed like 5 minutes and I had found nothing, the hole in my chest had grown so wide that I slowly started to despise the father who made me this way.

Then ,one day ,while I sat beneath an apple tree that seemed half my age, I met her. She came falling from a branch ,I quickly stretched out my wing and caught her, a fragile little girl no more than 12 years old. Her eyes were so innocently red ,I could see my soul through them, her pale white skin that reflected the sunset and silky smooth white hair left me spellbound.

I bet you must be wondering ,"What kinda sick ass thousand-year-old grand-pervert falls for a 12-year-old kid!?". Well ,to be honest ,I was ashamed of myself too

"Hey ,quit staring at me you pervert!" she said to me

"I think I'm more of a savior than a pervert. Don't you think

"you owe me a thank you?" I asked

"It's not like I asked for your help!"

"oh sure ,cause breaking a few bones is always fun"

"hemp!"

She glanced at me from head to toe and finally realized what I was. "... What's an angel like you doing here anyway?"

"I don't see how that concerns you"

"It does, I'm the village chief's daughter ya know?"

"that right? So what's a princess like you doing out here without an escort?"

"...I don't see how that concerns you"

"well played."

I immediately stretched out my wings and prepared to leave when she called out to me.

"Hey wait! What's your name?"

"..... Icarus"

"Thanks for saving my life ,Icarus..."

She held out one of the many apples she hugged in her shirt. I stared at her for a while before I finally decided to accept it...though my body was nothing but a mere shell that needed no nutrition. It kinda stung a bit.

Since then, I found myself searching for her wherever I went ,it was really annoying , especially for someone who traveled around the world. I saw her face wherever I turned, I started having strange fantasies about her. That's when I developed lust...my first sin.

I went back to her village hoping she could undo whatever it was she had done to me (big mistake). The second I saw her I felt myself walk straight into a jail cell. She was fishing at a river far from home.

"what are you doing?" I asked

I think I may have startled her a bit because she screamed and fell into the water when she heard me.

"Ugh! What are YOU doing sneaking up on people!?"

"sorry...I thought you could hear the flap of my wings"

I descended into the water and pulled her up, though I was a little bothered by how she hesitated before she grabbed my hand.
