Every noble of Westeros and Essos enjoyed the first event in the colosseum of Lys quite a lot, except for those that went broke due to gambling debt.
But the happiest people were none other than the shareholders. The income of the colosseum was high enough to offset the whole investment end even earn on top. Many families of Lys were able to connect with new partners and sold the special goods of Lys for high prices. Slave traders of Essos became increasingly excited at the thought of future business. Overall, the first event of the colosseum was a great success. As Victor already explained many ideas about the Gladiators and the spectacular fights to his grandfather, he was able to stay away from the trouble and watched his family achieve success. Being a rich second generation is truly an enjoyable process.
The day after the event Oberyn received an invitation from the Di Natale family. Of course, he was willing to meet the benefactor who not only helped him gain a lot of face in front of the nobles of Westeros, but also earned him tremendous wealth due to the bets on Attilius.
Canahs was truly an incredible sight for Oberyn. Not only the architecture of the temple, but also the sheer number of skilled warriors and trained mercenaries. He really couldn't imagine breaking through all the defenses of Canahs. Especially considering the fact, that you would need to transport so many troops across the ocean. The risk would never be the worth the gain. This made the Di Natale family a very suitable friend and a terrifying enemy as they didn't really have any weakness to exploit whether in a direct military conflict nor due to deceptions.
When he finally met Victor Di Natale himself, he was incredibly surprised. The youth that looked to be 10-11 years old was only a small child of 4. But during their conversation Oberyn slowly lost the ridicule he first felt, as Victor was understandably incredible mature.
"Oberyn, nobles of Dorne told my father about your recent situation. It looks like your mother wants to arrange a marriage for either you or your sister with a noble of Westeros. I guess she would prefer a Lannister." Victor explained to the surprised Oberyn.
"I am not sure about the ideas of my parents, but nobody will pick a Viper of Dorne as a husband for their daughter, that I am sure of." Oberyn ridiculed.
"Well, at least the Lannisters certainly won't pick you and neither your sister. I guess Tywin wants to marry his daughter to the Targaryen. And depending on the child that will soon be born to him and his wife they will plan their next relationships. Tywin is truly a remarkable chess player." Victor told Oberyn.
Seeing Oberyn's surprised expression Victor continued. "I don't think your next journey will be very successful, but I still wish you luck, my friend. If one day you need a place to stay, the Di Natale family of Lys will always welcome you. From a geographical point of view the nobles of Lys and the rulers of Dorne should be friends, am I right Oberyn?"
Oberyn burst into laughter as a response to Victors offer. A little child was offering him, the proud son of Martell, asylum. No matter how smart or mature Victor seemed, this situation was ridiculous to the 15-year-old Oberyn. He didn't know at that point, that one year later he would accept the offer, right in this very seat he was currently sitting in.
After spending a day introducing Oberyn to his family and having a pleasant meal together, Victor sends Oberyn to his boat and watched him start his return journey. Over the next day's Victor planned the future of the arena together with his family and eagerly awaited Attilius' awakening.
After being noticed by his servants about Attilius recovery he paid a visit to Attilius together with his mother Isabella. Attilius was visibly shaken by the situation, even after already knowing his situation due to Anika, his soon to be wife. After getting another conformation by Victor and Isabella the iron blooded gladiator broke down in tears. Tears of joy and gratitude. Even though he was bought by the Di Natale family as a slave and brutally trained into a war machine, he was still grateful. Without the Di Natale family he would have either starved to death on the streets or sold to some random noble as either a servant for life or a little plaything until death. There was literally no way for a poor orphan like him to rise to fame and fortune without the teachings of the Di Natale family and the opportunity in the colosseum.
Victor was relieved as he found a way to give a little hope to slaves without having to fight against all the nobles and slave traders of the world. He was able to give every slave a way to crawl out of the hell of slavery. At least for all the man in slavery. He might be able to find a way for woman in the future, but he needs to achieve things little by little. He must always remember that he lives in a world of feudal society and his family is a major benefactor of the rules.
After his full recovery Attilius was put in charge of training future gladiators as an official member of the Di Natale family. Every slave looking at the hero of the arena suddenly lit a fire in their eyes. The training speed and efficiency increased to an insane level.
As a show of appreciation and to further enhance the legendary story of the first gladiator to ever earn his freedom in the mighty colosseum of Lys, the major shareholders decided to hold an incredible wedding for Attilius and Anika. The Di Natale family accepted and supported this as a matter of course.
Two weeks later the whole city of Lys celebrated the wedding of the legendary gladiator and the most beautiful courtesan of Lys. The wedding itself was held in the cathedral of Lys and every major noble family of Lys sent a representative to the wedding. Attilius and Anika were completely mad with joy. Neither could have imagined such a day of fame and fortune in their life.
The party after the official wedding was hold at Anikas former home. The Goddess' Touch - the most famous pillow house in Lys, and arguably the Known World, the Goddess' Touch boldly claims to be capable of serving the tastes of every patron to visit, regardless of any oddities they may desire. Bed-slaves from north of the Wall to Naath, courtesans from as far east as Yi Ti and the Plains of the Jogos Nhai, the Goddess' Touch has them all, and offers a bag full of coin to those who do not find themselves pleased after their attendance. The courtesans and former teachers and friends held an incredible party and bid farewell to their former friend. Not only the slaves and future gladiators dreamed of freedom and a family. Even the courtesans of Lys longed for it and desired something just like Anika. Every courtesan present wanted to achieve the former position of Anika, as the most beautiful and gifted courtesan of them all, to be the bride of the next hero of the colosseum.
