Attilius, Hero of the Arena

As Victor already expected Attilius didn't take long to take the life of the Dothraki warrior. The free folk of Lys went crazy as the arm of Jhiro was cut off. The proud warrior didn't even beg for mercy as he fought till his last drop of blood was shet.

Among the cheers of the colosseum Attilius achieved his first victory... but to the surprise of the crowd he didn't want to leave at all.

Contrary to the plan of the noble families of Lys, Attilius wanted to achieve fame and fortune on the first day, without any patience to wait for the next event.

After a short gathering of the shareholders, they decided to grant him the right to fight, until he either died on the sand of the arena, or lived till the end of the night, achieving fame and fortune, and becoming a legend of Lys and a famous fighter through Westeros and Essos.

Robert Baratheon especially was extremely fond of Attilius, as he continued to win fight after fight. Either handicapped against two people at the same time, or in a single duel but becoming increasingly fatigued. After his sixth match Attilius was already injured and visibly slower. Even Victor himself started to worry and wanted him to stop. Attilius was one of the finest warriors of the Di Natale family and he didn't want to waste his life like this, as pure enjoyment for the nobles of Westeros and Essos. That should not be his destination.

Mace Tyrell on the other hand was already red-eyed and full of hatred. After repeatedly losing his bets against Attilius he was already broke and had to take a loan at the Bank of Rogare, an act for which his mother will probably beat him half to death.

The final fight of the night would not be human versus human, but a fight of human versus the force of nature. A human vs a lion.

Kevon Lannister was rather excited, as the symbol of the Lannister is the mighty lion himself.

The crowd went completely mad as the announcement for the final fight was made. Emilio Di Natale himself announced, that if Attilius were to win this last fight and achieve glory for the Di Natale family, he would personally free him of his status as a slave and award him with the finest beauty of Lys and a Home at the estate of Di Natale. He would henceforth no longer be a slave, but a free member of the Di Natale family.

Attilius, visibly exhausted and injured, started breathing heavily. Finally. Everything he ever wanted.

One last fight.

Blood running down his face, his hair sticky, his eyes wandered to the other side of the arena, as the door was slowly opening.

Roar! The lion announced his visit with all his might. Annoyed and confused at all the voice he wandered at the walls of the arena, until his eyes finally met Attilius. For a sheer moment time seemed to stand still. Everyone gathered their breath, whether in the stands or on the sand.

As the lion started sprinting towards Attilius he went into fighting stance. Memories of his childhood started to surface. Ugly faces, dirty streets, black bread, and a slave ship. There was nothing much left before his time in Lys.

The endless training drills and combat missions tired his spirit again and again and tempered his body. His muscles tensed; his spirit rose to the highest point. Adrenaline bursting through his body.

Before the claws of the lion could reach his chest, he dodged and managed to cut on the back of the lion. Blood dripping down his back the lion slowly distanced himself, still focusing on Attilius.

This time it was Attilius turn to move forward, step for step he came closer to his final battle as a slave. In what seemed to be years, but was only less than a second, the sword of Attilius, a gift for every slave warrior of the Di Natale family, finally pierced the heart of the lion. Under the eyes of the nobles of Westeros, under the cheers of the future King Robert Baratheon, witnessed by all the noble families of Lys, the former Slave Attilius, Hero of the Arena, led down exhausted on the body of the dead lion.

Cheers, endless cheers. Nothing left was remembered by Attilius at this day.

He woke up three days later, as a free man of Lys, member of the family Di Natale. He did not understand how many changes to this world his fighting spirit should bring. Everything that truly mattered to him, was the beautiful woman at his bed side. Anika, the most famous courtesan of the Ormollen family. Famous for her paintings and beautiful dances. Untainted like an angel straight out of heaven and well kept away from the dirt of the world.

She was the gift to the Hero of Lys, decided together by all the shareholders of the arena. Of course, the Ormollen family would be compensated. But honestly, they earned so much money with the first night of the colosseum, nobody really cared about a bed slave. She explained him what happened after he lost consciousness after his win over the lion.

How many noble families extended invitations to him and how famous he would become in the next few months, after all the noble lords would return to their home and spread his tale, the tale of a gladiator.
