Friend or foe?

Snapping out of her thoughts, starting to work towards the minor task that fell upon them and by work I mean she orders Dalerus to do it.

"I don't want to touch that dead man's body, so grab him and stuff him down the basement." She ordered while gesturing for the body to be dragged away from this spot as soon as possible.

Even though she can simply stand up and walk away from the chair if standing near the body isn't the easiest in the mental state.

"You're the boss." Dalerus replied to her with a high pitch tone.

Unintentional, because of still being a bit nervous. That and he never handled a dead body before.

Unconscious maybe but dead no.

However it was still nice to see and hear his nervously high pitch tone, at least from Ursa's point of view. Seeing men become this nervous is certainly something hard to run upon, therefore it feels... cute.

"By the 3 gods just get the body down there." She replied to the salute a bit rudely but not exactly aiming to be rude.

Actually the lady meant to let out a joking tone but it just didn't come out right.

Ursa just enjoyed the salute a bit too much and it got her little bit shy, just a little. Which explains why her tone sounded rude, not knowing how to react to feelings shyness is the base root.

Finally having the opportunity to think about this situation further since they managed to put this small problem behind them, Ursa thought to herself. "What exactly is he doing here? I don't think I called for him."

Letting out a slightly stressful sigh afterwards, she proceeded to think. "This idiot either messed up hard or has some new information about the ships! Let's hope it's about the ships, yes it has to be about the ships."

Transporting that body to the basement wasn't such a big hustle, for Dalerus at least.

To spare his clothes and an hour worth of cleaning the floors and stairs to destroy the evidence, the man first grabbed a low quality cloth from surprisingly underneath the transaction table.

Used the cloth to wrap the dead man's throat where all the blood was coming out of and tied it tightly.

Soon as he wrapped the cloth around the dead shop owner's neck, lifting the body off of the ground felt considerably easy.

Barely breaking a sweat, placed the body over his shoulder and started walking towards the basement.

Thing is with a dead man on his shoulder, Dalerus struggled to find the basement door at first, even tangled his legs with some wooden buckets and almost fell down.

Seeing him struggle to find the basement door, Ursa snapped her fingers to catch his attention and then pointed towards a door, showing him where it's at.

A short giggle followed right after the lady directed him, that was the first time Dalerus heard this woman laugh even though it wasn't exactly a laugh.

It filled his heart with a warm ray of emotions even though carrying a dead man, the bad thing about that was Dalerus' face boiling red in embarrassment.

Coming back a couple of minutes later, Dalerus didn't bother removing that quality dagger from the wooden door's casing which signified that he indeed has a lot to talk about.

"So..." Ursa broke the silence with a rather straight face while gesturing for him to reach a shorter chair located on the top left corner of the shop.

A chair which doesn't exactly have back support and is very short, commonly used to reach for topper shelves in the shop.

Although hesitant at first to sit at such a chair, insisting to stand on his feet, the man didn't take long to obligue when her facial expressions transformed into angrier than usual.

"I told you to come here only in case of an emergency!" She reminds while trying to hold in her laughter after seeing Dalerus looking so short once he sat on the chair.

Only the merchant's chest and head could be seen from her point of view.

"I know." Replied Dalerus while rubbing the back of his head in embarrassment and rather strongly nervousness, right before telling her about the first issue. "A perceptive merchant is on my tail. He acts like a fool most of the time but that's just a mask covering a brilliant mind."

Sighing in rather strong diss satisfaction, not liking what she's hearing at all.

Dalerus is the only person she could rely heavily on this project, because they worked long enough to not be considered strangers.

But Ursa also understands that Dalerus can make this problem go away, which is why her patience hasn't yet spread thin. "I'm just going to ask you one question which can help us decide how to approach the situation."

At such a response, Dalerus already became very nervous but his skin is itching to know. "Do ask?"

"Do you label this merchant as a friend or foe?" She replied, with her face as serious as ever.

This nosy merchant can really be a threat to the big plan, so she has to be extremely sure and can't risk for the plans to have gaps, or people breaking in gaps on it either.

Being puzzled with his own thoughts, left speechless because even Dalerus doesn't know what to consider this man.

Sure the merchant poking his nose around Dalerus' private business is tremendously risky for Ursa but again that same merchant proved useful at providing information about such a professional matter.

Sitting in quiet for a while, giving this question quite a strong thought.

It isn't exactly the best trait to bring into a conversation, but Ursa likes the way Dalerus' face looks like while the man is deep in thoughts.

It looked like he swallowed something very sour, the man almost caught her giving a big smile even.

At the end, he finally decided to reply with. "I don't know how to respond to that. He could either make our job a lot easier or bring a shitload of trouble."

Confused at what exactly he's trying to say, Ursa queries. "Your point being?"

"He is the one who told me everything I need to know about the ships." After giving it a little thought, Dalerus decides to sink this topic deeper. "The bad thing is that he is trying to get sensitive information out of me."

Those two facts considered, Dalerus whole heartedly expresses. "So I don't know how much I can trust him."

"So he is a foe!" Replied Ursa feeling quite sure of her words.

Still not feeling sure about that, Dalerus answers. "His qualities can be used to our advantage, so a foe isn't it. I will have a talk with him again and see what I can do."
