Chapter 20: Awakeners world

"So.. how do you think the awakeners world will be?" I asked my partner who scratched his bald head pondering for some time while the elevator continued to descend silently.

It's been one minute from when the doors closed and i can say we crossed some kilometers, I can't say an exact number since there's something interfering with my perception but after some time my energy is adapting.

So i won't feel this sense of powerlessness for long.

After Tom took his sweet time thinking things through he said while looking at the ceiling: "I'm not gonna lie... I'm kinda nervous, who knows if the awakeners are like the cultivators type? Always wanting to kill everyone?" His tone lacked his usual carefree tone.

At his words i deeply thought about my first encounter with the awakeners, and the news of the lost humans, especially how murderous and dangerous the Djinns are.

What if I didn't have this overpower power? Would i have died? Omar and the others weren't hostile but who is saying that the other humans are this kind? I know perfectly the human nature.

So Tom worries are well founded.

"You're right Tom." I turned my head meeting his eyes, with a faint smile i added: "So follow this one rule, never trust someone 100% and never reveal your every card." I said sagely but he just gave me a death pan stare.

"Man, that's common sense." He stated. I laughed, he's right, for us web novels enjoyers this is common sense...

So i said: "Well, just go with the flow and say Bismillah." I nodded, my words made sense.

He scratched his bald head again and said: "But I'm christian." I struggled and said: "You can say it anyway, God is Allah in english so there is no difference." An light bulb appeared on his head.

He nooded and said: "Bismillah!" At the end of his statement the elevator came to a stop with it's doors opening showing light?, we looked at each other and walked out decisively.

The more i walked the more the light became blinding and seeing the groans of discomfort coming from Tom i think he doesn't like it too, the light increased in intensity until it became blinding and then...

...We saw.

Do you know the hollow earth of the titans universe? Godzilla? Yes that.

But we saw an immense city and another on the roof flipped down! My eyes widened in shock and excitement and hearing the shuttering of Tom I'm sure he is feeling the same, this shit is crazy!

I then patted Tom's shoulder to bring him back to reality, succeeding, he looked at me and then at the futuristic city with some people flying around and even some pillars of light that connected the two cities.

From the panels of light i could see some silhouettes of various sizes.

I then looked behind us and saw the same pillar of light with it's brilliant glow, weren't we walking??? How is possible that we have been going down for all of that time.

And seeing the look of Tom he was thinking the same, and to cater at our questions a voice made it's presence known: "Seeing your foolish reactions must mean that you're new to this." The feminine voice said.

I turned my head on the right and saw a blonde woman casually walking towards us while continuing: "These pillars are made with technology and essence, basically allowing people to walk but never going out of the border. Perfect for crowds."

"And what you just experienced is normal when you take a pillar for the first time so don't put much thought into it."

Before we could ask something she continued: "And yes, that on top is a city with a different center of gravity, and as currency we use credits here, and to learn more go to the tall building with the big ass square on its front." After finishing her small explanation she walked past us to do her own business.

I and Tom looked at each other and then struggled: "Well, at least we know what to do." Tom said and i dapped him up: "Facts."

So the two handsome men (us) walked towards their destination.

We took our time and observed the place, how the technology here was more advanced than the normal world, but we weren't surprised since super powers exist, this means that some super intelligence is not impossible either.

We walked for some time along the bustling streets full of different types of people and ethnicities: "I'm pretty sure that all or the grand part of the awakeners are here." I said since the light pillar we came from it's on top a taller building.

And from there we were able to see that these two cities are massive, and from it, we could still see the horizon full of buildings.

The architecture here is new, everything is connected by stairs or hovering elevators, or people just jumped or flied around, there were vehicles on big roads but were we were was a way only for pedestrians.

After enjoying our trip we came in front of the building with the big square, with people going in and out continuously in an orderly manner.

And by looking at the visual instructions we headed towards the right open entrance were people entered, when we trepassed the threshold of the building we came in front of a spacious inside with various lines and seats.

I read a big hologram in English that said 'Registration' and walked towards the line with Tom behind me, since there were many people, more than one registration reception was open.

"This place is really big man.." Tom said while looking at everything: "You're right, let's try to not lose each other." We got behind a man who stood in line.

Then i suddenly turned my head and looked at the crowd going from place to place in confusion, i just felt someone looking at my back, Tom looked at my weird face and asked: "Everything good man?" I shook my head: "No, nothing."

Bullshit, I'm sure someone was looking at me, i trust my senses. Tom struggled and said nonchalantly: "Okay."
