"Kori, Carry, you two fly back to the ship, get it ready and come pick me up once you're ready," said Raiden, now basking in his new Achilles form.
"What about Biot's Gravitational pull?" said Kori.
"Don't worry about it, I'll think of something then! Just go," screamed Raiden.
"Should I stay and help charge you up, Brother Raiden?" screamed Carry.
"No, go with her! I'll need you for later. Now, go, I'm jumping down," said Raiden as he jumped from the high building's windows, landing on his knees, releasing a massive green aura. Raiden drew in all the Manhunters surrounding the deserted planet.
"Come at me."
Clad in intricately designed golden armor that exposed his muscular physique, he embodied the classical Greek hero aesthetic. His flowing green hair and intense eyes filled with strong determination were a testament to his fierce nature, emphasizing his unwavering commitment to battle. He wielded his divine spear, "Diatrekhōn Astēr Lonkhē," in his right hand, while his left hand held the divine construct, his shield "Akhilleus Kosmos."
If this were the real Achilles, he probably would not use the shield until he truly needed it, but Raiden was different. He was not going to risk underestimating the Manhunters.
Confronting the relentless horde of Manhunters alone, the atmosphere vibrated with the symphony of clashing steel and the mechanical whirl of a thousand adversaries surrounding him. Raiden, with a confident smirk, drew his spear. His movements were akin to a whirlwind as he danced among the Manhunters, exploiting their weaknesses with unparalleled skill and precision. The air crackled with green energy, courtesy of Achilles' aura.
However, just like earlier, the Manhunters proved they were a different type of menace. When an enemy loses a limb or two, they become naturally weaker, losing focus and starting to think irrationally. This applies to all people, whether they have truly lost a limb or have been pushed back. However, the Manhunters were not people.
The Manhunters were relentless, ruthless, and determined. Whether they lost an arm, a leg, had to whimper or crawl, they would reach Raiden and try to kill him. Their goal was a must, and their worst quality was adaptation. They adapted to the speed of Achilles, his spear movements, and his strength. So they countered that with their sheer number, stacking atop each other and behind one another, reducing the spear's AOE energy damage. They also used that to cut off his movement, forcing him into a small space.
Simultaneously, they all pulled out their shotgun energy blasts and started shooting.
"Master, I think I'm being underestimated here, ain't I? I've been fighting wars for more than half my life! The fact that they're already standing in front of me means they've already accepted defeat! Let's deploy Hephaestus' Shield."
In an instant, Raiden grabbed his shield and activated it. This was his chance of retaliation!
Akhilleus Kosmos was not an ordinary shield; it was a high-grade Noble Phantasm of one of history's greatest heroes, Achilles. It displayed why it was not something ordinary. This divine construct was special; it could create a defensive type Bounded field, said to be able to stand against nearly any attack by deploying a miniature world described within a hundred lines of text in Book 18 of the [Iliad]. It was the world Achilles lived in, reproduced by Hephaestus into a miniature form in the shield, featuring swirling ocean currents on the outer circumference due to the sea god Poseidon. It was said that "to oppose this shield is the same as making the world your opponent," allowing it to protect against Anti-Unit, Anti-Army, Anti-Divine, Anti-Fortress, and Anti-Country Noble Phantasms.
However, this was Achilles' Noble Phantasm; the fiery swift hero would never accept something purely made to protect him, as his body was already immortal. No, Achilles was special in that he was the only one who could use the shield to attack, something that Hephaestus never devised, only possible because of who he is.
Achilles learned to crush his opponents with the miniature world by continuously pushing forward after its deployment.
{Akhilleus Kosmos: The Miniature World Enclosed by the Azure Sky}
The Bounded field world started to expand further and further as the Manhunters were invited in. Unable to escape, yet unable to move and attack Achilles inside, they were surrounded, crushed, and trampled on by a world.
Sounds of iron crushing and twisting emanated, and their systems were unable to find an escape route. The Manhunters were being reduced to scrap metal.
After a few seconds, the shield's power started to lower, and the world dissipated. The area surrounding Achilles was barren, only the dead Manhunters remained, around a thousand or so, were crushed.
*Clank* *Clank* *Clank*
Yet, as if it didn't matter how many had died, the rest carried on walking closer and closer to Achilles.
'I'd have to admit, Master, I've never faced an enemy as relentless as these guys.'
'Guess that's what happens when you don't have a real brain or emotions; you don't know what fear even means.'
'I'm getting excited here, Master. Wish it was me out there fighting. Come on, let's try the impossible and instill fear onto robots.'
"RAIDENNN!" screamed Kori as she drove the ship closer to the airspace he was occupying. Hearing that, the Manhunters started to shoot at her, but a blue shield surrounded the ship.
"Kori! Fly up directly to space; I'll get us out of here! Just stir the ship," said Raiden as his aura started to emanate with green energy.
"Carry, support me now!" said Raiden.
"I'm coming!" Carry dropped down flying from the ship as her ring started to increase Raiden's energy directly, creating a thick line towards his back that charged him up with energy.
"I can't keep this up long, Brother Raiden! I still have to protect the ship with the barrier construct," said Carry.
"You don't have to, Carry. Prioritize the ship. Just charge me up as long as possible, because I'm calling for a special type of backup."
Putting his two fingers in his mouth, Raiden whistled.
'Ah! You calling for my boys? Aight! Let's have some fun.'
"Xanthos! Balios! Pedasus!
Let's go!
Run as if your life depends on it!
My life is a shooting star!
Troias Tragōidia!!"
Tempestuous Immortal Chariot, Achilles's three-horsed chariot that is able to move through the sky! Driven by the two divine horses Xanthos and Balios, who are as strong as servants themselves, and in the supporting role Pedasus, the chariot emerged in the skies, descending close enough for Raiden to jump on top of it.
He swirled around in the sky for a few seconds, charging it up and dod
ging the onslaught attack of the Manhunters. Then the entire chariot started shining a bright green aura; its speed increased as well, creating what looked like a comet.
The green comet-like chariot slammed onto the hordes of Manhunter Robots, creating a massive path and eliminating half of them, distracting them and disorganizing them as much as possible.
While the attack did prove to be fatal, it wasn't going to destroy the entire Manhunter Army. He could tell that even now, in the city, he had only eliminated about 20% of them, roughly 2000 or so. Imagine if the entire planet were to fully awake.
So instead, he gained their aggro, creating a perfect escape route for the ship, ascending further and further into the sky. Its speed started to slow down; the Biot Gravitational pull started to take a toll on it.
That was Raiden's cue. The chariot's direction shifted to the skies.
"CARRY! FOCUS ALL YOUR EFFORTS ON THE SHIELD! I will ram onto the ship and push it beyond the gravitational pull," screamed Raiden.
Carry, stopping her support to Raiden, increased the amount of blue energy going to the shield. The Manhunters all pulled their energy blasts and started shooting at them.
The chariot kept on pushing the ship, going beyond its limits to escape the strong gravitational pull of Biot.
It took a while, but he made it.
'Hahahaha! Well, the quests you go on are pretty invigorating. It's satisfying. Make sure to call me again sometime! I might even start to like you, Master!'
{Bond Increased! Achilles Bond 1 → Bond 3}
With his energy finally depleting after using two S-Class Noble Phantasms, Raiden's body returned to normal.
The chariot that had carried him to the skies disappeared with Achilles, so he found himself free falling back to Biot, but a blue cushion held him and grabbed him back to the ship.
As he was pulled inside the ship, Raiden, completely exhausted and tired, looked at Carry and said, "You save me once again."
"You should always be grateful for me then! As such, I get a boyfriend at the age of fifteen!" spoke Carry as she tried to take advantage of the situation.
"No," replied Raiden with a flat response.
"Damn it!" lamented Carry.
As the ship soared through space, Raiden collapsed into a seat, exhausted but happy. Catching his breath, he smiled and said, "NO MORE SPACE! EARTH IMMEDIATELY!"
"Well, you damaged the ship a bit too much with the push, so we'll have to land somewhere to repair it. But overall, our next destination, Earth!" said Kori with a smile on her face.
"I wonder how Brother Raiden's planet looks like!" said Carry.
"Well, it's not boring. I'll at least admit to that. I sometimes wonder if the dangers we've faced here in space are worse than the ones on Earth. We'll just have to wait and see!"
Raiden then closed his eyes and smiled as he imagined the face of his other lover, Raven.
'I can sense it, Raven. That spell you are using to catch my heart beats, just a bit longer and I'll be home.'
No matter who it was, locating Raiden using magic was impossible, due to the sheer number of servants inside his heart. It's impossible for him to have a single Mana imprint, and while that was usually a very good thing, it also stopped Raven from finding him as well. However, she was able to at least hear his heartbeats, proving that he was alive.
'I'm coming home, Raven.'
…
Six months later, Earth's Solar System
a ship was passing Mars, closing in on Earth.
