One Chance

(A/N Sorry for the late Update, I've been having many problems recently with my account, I was hacked and lost some money, thankfully Patreon has helped me get it back and also helped me secure my account, it's been a very hectic few days, but we're still surviving, I've also finally take my Summer break so expect the number of chapters to increase! thanks for Reading!)

"The Phantom Zone? The place where you were sent? Does that mean Wally is in space?" asked Artemis, to which Raiden shook his head "No, I only went to space, because I escaped the Phantom Zone, Wally has no means of doing that, which means one thing, Wally is still in there, of course I'm not sure, We'll first have to discuss this with the others" 

"If….If he's there! Then we can save him, right? We have to save him!" said Artemis shaking a bit, this made Raiden get close and hug her saying "I will do anything I can to save him, if he's alive, and inside the Phantom zone, Then I will find him"

….

A few weeks passed, and the team discussed the Wally situation, the Phantom Zone theory was kept hidden, from Wally's family, and the others, just to not give them any false hope, the team then assigned some of the best scientists in the teleportation fields and discovery of new dimensions, just so they could find a way to open the gate to The Phantom Zone

One of the lead scientists who helped in this research over the last few weeks had been Adam Strange, he was sitting down with Raiden and the original Team members, Wally's friends, Flash was there as well as the highest-ranked League members, discussing the opening of the Phantom Zone

"Well? Why did you gather us here? Any progress" Asked Raiden, looking at Strange, Adam closed his eyes saying "Well, I suppose we could call it progress, but it's nothing solid, or useful, we managed to finally reverse engineer Ivo's bomb that sent you to the Phantom Zone a few years ago, however, we've got a problem" explained Adam, to which Artemis said "Well? What is it?"

"We can send up to two people to the Phantom Zone, but we have no way of bringing them back since the portal can only be active for a few minutes at most, and you can't exactly create this portal in such a destroyed land" explained Adam, killing the hopes of everyone in the room

Raiden sat down and started to think, He's got a child coming soon, He promised his girls that he wouldn't do something dangerous again, but at the same time, it was one of his best friends, Wally, one of the first ones to welcome him in the team, and treat him well, he can't do nothing about it

"I'll go, I escaped before, I can do it Again," said Raiden, the entire room looked at him with shock as Batman spoke "You can't! You have no idea if you could come back, and you don't even know if you'd be back on Earth or be thrown into space like last time" 

"It's too much of a Risk, Raiden, you can't risk losing your life like this," said Connor

"So what! It's Wally! I have to do something! We have to do something!" screamed Raiden, but then holding him from his hand, Artemis spoke "You can't Raiden….you're expecting, you can't risk not being there for your child, I don't want Raven and Kori to experience my pain" 

"Damn it! Adam! Are you sure there's no other option? Just a one-way route?" asked Raiden as he grabbed Adam's shoulders almost begging him, Adam looked down, disappointed at himself before saying 

"It's too dangerous, too risky, and unproven, I don't even know if it would work, but there's another option," said Adam, to which Hope engulfed Raiden's heart again as he asked "Well? Tell us!"

"It's not that different, We'll send two people to the Phantom Zone using this one-way gate, the two people must memorize the location they landed in, and come back after a certain period of time, a time we must agree upon, let's say a month, after a month passed, us back here, we'll open a new gate, and the ones in there must come out through it, as I explained before, we can at most keep it open for around four minutes, so you'll have to come back to whatever spot you dropped in at the exact agreed upon time, over the month we can increase the size of people who pass when you come back, but I can't guarantee to keep it open for longer" 

Hearing that, Raiden Understood what Adam meant, Raiden would have to spend a Month in the Phantom Zone locating Wally, not only that, he'd have to remember the exact location of where he was first dropped, and hope that it was not a bad location, then come back to the exact time, in about a month, this was extremely dangerous, not only did he not know what kind of threats exist in the phantom zone, he didn't even know how time passed there, if it's even possible for a human to survive, all of these variables played a big part in him making his decision, but the Variable he needed the most, was the approval of his girls, he just couldn't make them go through pain because of him again 

"I Will go, We'll plan this out, and once we're ready I'll go, I'll find Wally and bring him back," said Raiden, to which then from behind him, Artemis spoke "I will go with you, he said it can take up to two people right? Then I will go" said Artemis

"No, it's too dangerous for you Artemis," said Raiden, the others all started to agree but Artemis cut them all off shouting "ENOUGH! I DON'T Care! I'm going, and no one is stopping me, none of you can risk it, you've all got people to care for, But me? Wally was my life! Without him, I'm nothing, So I will go with you Raiden, Whether you like it or not, Whether the team likes it or not"

Hearing the spiteful and angry tone of Artemis, as she threatened them, shocked everyone, but they couldn't say anything, after all, no one else was volunteering, except Raiden, the Mission was too dangerous and unpredictable, and to anyone's knowledge, the only person to ever escape the Phantom Zone was Raiden, so it scared them

"Fine, But prepare well, I'll do my best, but I can't guarantee your safety 100%," said Raiden, to which Artemis nodded saying "I wouldn't have it any other way"

Taking a breath, Raiden entered his home, he was nervous, walking into the kitchen, and there she was, cooking something, even though she didn't need to, her belly in front of her, carrying his baby, Raiden felt pride every time he saw her, Raven turned around and noticed how Raiden was looking at her, love in his eyes, mixed with pride and happiness 

"You look silly," said Raven, as she laughed a bit, she sat down on the table, inviting him to sit with her "I don't mind, I'm just happy seeing you" 

"Are you excited about the birth of our boy?" said Raven, to which Raiden corrected "Could be daughter, we don't know!" they both could easily tell that it was a boy, due to their magic senses, but Raiden was still pretending to not know, to keep the surprise alive

"Yeah, sure, anyways, I've been working on some names, how about we sit down with Kori and discuss them? Also, hurry up and knock that girl up as well, she's too excited about our kid, I can't even tell how she'd be once she gets pregnant" said Raven, Raiden Raised his hand saying "It's not my fault that Tamaranians have a very low rate of pregnancy! Anyways, We can discuss that later, I've got something serious to talk to you about" 

Hearing that, Raven narrowed her eyes saying "What is it?" to which Raiden sighed as he said "Look, I promised that I'd be with you, and not endanger myself, but, I'm a hero, and my friend is in danger, I have to do something" said Raiden, as he continued to explain the Situation to Raven, about Wally and the Phantom Zone

"Raven, I….I love you and Kori, and I want you safe, but Wally is also someone I care about, I blame myself for not protecting him and not being there for him, And I want to do the bare minimum, and to me, this is the bare minimum, If you don't want me too, I'll send Scáthach or Merlin, and stay by your side, this is your decision, not mine, because you deserve it, after all of what I've put you in" 

Hearing all of that, Raven closed her eyes, she was thinking, and thinking, then she opened her eyes saying "Promise me Raiden, Promise me to come back to the birth of our son, No matter what, no matter how, whatever dangers you face, just promise me, that YOU will come back to me" 

Hearing that, Raiden felt fear, not from a battle or death, but rather, from disappointing his love and missing out on his Son's birth

"I Promise you, Raven, I'll be back before his birth, I'll be there, to hold your hand, to watch you give birth to life, and to name that life with you"
