For centuries, in the vast lands of the Main Kingdom, there was peace. Trade was good, the forests surrounding the main grounds were safe and full of life. Everyone was happy. That is, until people started developing strange powers.
One person could glow in the dark, while another could blow up a whole house. The people without powers saw them as strange. Not normal. And then became scared. Especially the King and his wife at the time. They could take the throne from them at any moment. So they built walls as high as they could and put a special chemical in them that can prevent one from using the full extent of their power. And they deemed anyone with these powers, Forbidden Ones.
The Forbidden Ones were forced out of their homes and outside, where they had no technology, no medicine, nothing to fend for themselves. Their powers were not strong enough to protect everyone from the outside. Dangerous animals would kill off the weaker ones, and if they could survive that, sickness would take the rest. They grew rageful, and decided they would fight for justice. They called themselves the Rebels. And they would fight until justice was won.
Centuries later, there is war after war, death after death, and peace still has not been found.
Snow
She has spent the last 10 years training and battling the Rebels for killing her father, King Coltin. Everyday, she trained and forced herself to the brink of exhaustion so she can be ready for any battle. Since she took over the battles at age 14, they have been winning. Fast forward three years later, and they have the Forbidden Ones cornered. In what is supposed to be the last battle, she is gravely wounded. As she readies herself for death, a stranger, who she finds later to be known as David, saves her. Along with his cousin, they nurse her back into health and become dear friends. But throughout that period, she forced herself to not forget her hate for the Forbidden Ones. Every single one of them must pay. She will not forgive, and she cannot forget.
David
He and his family were brought up outside of the walls. They have powers, but they stay away from the Rebels. They just want peace and nothing to deal with fighting. One night when he was still a boy, his powers activated. Violently. And it killed all of his family. The only one that survived was his cousin, Fallyn. Stricken with grief and depression, he vowed to take care of Fallyn and to keep her safe. It was his parents dying words. One night, while he is out searching for wood, he stumbles upon a beautiful woman. With a sword sticking out of her. He instantly recognizes her as the princess of the Main Kingdom, but keeps it to himself and carries her back to his tent where he and Fallyn cares for her. Over time, they grow into friends, but David feels more than friendship. But he can never let Snow know about who he really is, or there will be nothing but hate left between them.
Is revenge the only answer? When you have lost everything, can you still love? Born and raised on different sides, will they follow in the paths of their ancestors, or fight for change?
