Kali stood in the center of the guild. Laxus was watching from above in amusement and the members were on her left and right side. Natsu and Gray had already been punished to "that" which made them cry in terror.
"As the Master of Fairy Tail, I must give you a punishment for breaking sacred laws." Makarov said.
The atmosphere was tense, everyone's hearts were beating rapidly since they were nervous. This was the first time they've seen Master Makarov punish one of their members, a high ranking one at that.
"I, as a member of the Fairy Tail guild, will accept any punishment given to me. But first, could you please name what I've done wrong?" Kali asked.
"Alright." Makarov said as he opened up a journal. "Instead of bringing back Natsu and the others, you decided to follow them which is deemed a betrayal of the guild. As well as breaking one of the Sacred Rules, you brought the demon of destruction, Deliora, back to life. That also means you've used Black Magic."
When Makarov finished his sentence, everyone didn't know how to react, not even Makarov could believe the words that came out of his mouth.
Suddenly, Laxus made a statement.
"Amazing Kali!" Laxus said with a grin. "You brought one of the most destructive monsters in history back to life and performed Black Magic? I wonder what your punishment will be."
Because of this, there were murmurs around the guild.
"She performed Black Magic…"
"I know she's a SS-Rank Wizard, but what was she thinking…?"
"What are we going to do…"
"Be quiet! I still have more to say!" Makarov yelled which made the entire guild shut up. "Kali, for your punishment, you will be banned from Fairy Tail until I lift."
There was a moment of silence until everyone started to shout.
"She's banned?! Isn't this too much?"
"I get what she did was wrong, but do you really have to go this far?"
"Think of a different punishment, please Master!"
Kali smiled at the people defending her but she knew it was of no use. After all, what she did broke the balance of life. Nothing should be brought back to life under any circumstances.
"Everyone." Kali said, which made everyone quiet. "It's fine, I'll accept the punishment."
"But-" Macao was about to protest but Kali stopped him from doing so. "It's okay, Macao. The ban is only temporary."
This caused Macao to turn to Master Makarov.
"Is that true? Is the ban only temporary?!"
Master Makarov nodded his head. "The ban will be lifted when I want it to be lifted, until then, Kali is banned from entering this guild or affiliating with it."
"Will she still be able to talk to us?"
"She can, but she may not help in your missions or anything like that."
"I see."
"Cheer up everyone. It's not like I'll be completely gone, it's just that I won't be here in the guild for the time being. We can see each other somewhere else." Kali tried to lift the mood, but it was no use.
"Kali." Makarov said with a nod.
Kali knew what he meant by that gesture, she turned around, and started heading towards the exit. She couldn't look at the soft eyes that were about to cry, it was impossible.
Before she reached the exit, she was suddenly blocked by Natsu and Gray.
"Natsu? Gray? Is there something you need?" Kali asked.
"You can't leave just yet! We still have yet to fight you and beat you!" Natsu exclaimed.
"For once, I agree with this idiot who has flames for brains." Gray added.
Kali smiled helplessly at the two. Now, she was wishing she fought them earlier, but they needed to become far stronger. She needed them to keep chasing her in order for them to become stronger.
Kali simply walked past them and patted their heads. "When you both become ten times stronger than you are now, I'll fight you two."
The two couldn't do anything as Kali exited the door. Right when she thought she could have some peace, Mira was now in front of her.
"Mira, don't tell me you're looking for a fight too." Kali said with a smile. Suddenly, the smile disappeared when she was slapped by Mira. "Huh? What-"
Kali stopped talking when she saw the tears that flowed down Mira's cheeks. She stood there in shock since this was only the second time she's seen Mira cry. The first time was a long time ago.
"You deserved that." Mira said while staring into Kali's eyes. "That's what you deserve for leaving me."
Kali widened her eyes in realization. "I'm sorry-"
"Don't apologize, I know you have your own reasons for doing the things you do. But please, think of the consequences before you do anything rash, okay?"
Kali couldn't resist Mira's eyes and only nodded. She couldn't find the right words to speak. Instead, she went over to Mira and wrapped her arms around Mira's waist.
"Okay."
At times like these, Mira was glad she was taller than Kali. She gently caressed Kali's head and smiled.
"Promise me one thing, Kali."
Kali looked up and asked, "What is it?"
"You'll come back. It doesn't need to be soon, but one day, you have to come back to your home."
"Okay, I promise. One day, I'll come back to see you again."
"Oh yeah, take this." Mira said as she handed a cloak over to Kali. "News would be spread all over, I'm sure people will be looking for you, and want to ask you a bunch of questions."
Kali wrapped herself in the black cloak and pulled the hood over her head. Her entire appearance was now covered, though it would be better to stay away from the public even with a cloak on.
"Hey…Mira…" Kali muttered while looking around.
Mira tilted her head. "Hmm? Is something wrong?"
Kali looked around to make sure no one was around to see this. She wrapped her arms around Mira and whispered, "I'll miss you."
When Kali said that, she immediately turned away so that Mira wouldn't be able to see her face.
Mira laughed, even if Kali hid her face, she knew that Kali was embarrassed. After all, she wasn't the type of person to express how she really felt about things. Mira didn't even think Kali knew how to express those emotions, though she was glad Kali was trying.
"Kali." Mira called out which made Kali turn back around. She smiled and said, "I'll miss you too, Kali. So come back soon for me, okay?"
Kali nodded and decided to leave. If she were to stay there any longer, she would stay there even if she was banned. Her thoughts then trailed off to Erza, Kali knew she wouldn't come. After all, she had just recently come back, Erza didn't want to say goodbye again.
Suddenly, a certain place came to mind.
"Hmm, maybe I'll visit him."
