33. School Library

The hand to hand combat training is the last lesson for today. They end their lesson right when the school finishes too. Ben tells the students to train on their own at home and not slacking off.

"I want to see good progress from you again next week, alright?"-Ben

"Can we ask for a reward again?"-Dito

"You really like rewards, don't you? Sure, as long as it doesn't need to use money."-Ben

""Eeehh~.""-Students disappointed

"If you want money, then work for it yourself! Help your parents or do a small job. Even Bella & Carla work for their own money, so don't lose to the cats!"-Ben

After that, the students leave and are ready to go home. Wendy asks Ben to join the girls who want to play at Olive's house. Ben allow her and even ask her to bring Bella with her.

Bella protests, but when Ben says he wants to read books in the library, she decides to follow Wendy. She doesn't like books and will always leave Ben when he read books.

"I will pick you up at 4 PM, alright?"-Ben

"Yes, Commander."-Wendy salute

Wendy & the cats leave the school with the girls. Ben goes to the library after seeing all the students leave. He will scan many books today, and add them to A.I Chip's database.

Ben enters the library that doesn't look that big, just like a normal school library. But there's no desk inside, and only rows of book cabinets because students can't read here. The books in the cabinets also just have an introduction & description, so they can save space.

They need to ask for a copy to read the books in class. Only teachers are allowed to read here, in a special room for teachers. Even so, no copy is allowed to be taken home. Any book copy that leaves the school perimeter will burn automatically.

Ben starts to scan the books using A.I Chip to find something that he hasn't had yet. Then just like what he thought, the school has many books that he doesn't have.

'I can find almost all the books that I bought from the public magic stores in here. Well, it will be strange if they don't have something that available in the public magic stores.'-Ben

Ben takes 15 books that he doesn't have yet and take them to the librarian. The librarian is an old lady, and she's very friendly.

"Do you want all these books' copies?"-Lady

"Yes, this is my permit from Headmaster."-Ben take out a letter

"Ara~, a teacher at such a young age, you must be very talented."-Lady

"I just work hard to reach this level."-Ben smile

"Fufufu, alright then."-Lady

The lady write the books' title and then she give the paper to someone in the secret room behind her. Sometime later, a man comes out from the room with the books and places them on the table.

Ben thank the lady & man before he take the books to the reading room for the teacher. It is located on the 2nd floor of the library, and the stairs are right in front of the librarian's desk.

Ben goes up and takes a seat on an empty desk. Well, no one is here, so every desk is free. Ben open the first book and start to scan the pages. He can scan faster now because of A.I Chip's ability has raised after scanning many books.

Ben didn't bother to read anything & just focus on scanning. The old lady watch this through a monitoring lacrima device. She's intrigued by how Ben 'read' the books at fast speed.

'Did that young man have magic that help him to read fast? Hmm, interesting.'-Lady

Ben knows he is being watched, but he ignores it and focuses on his task. He scans the books fast and finishes in 3 hours, right at 4 PM. It's time to pick up Wendy, so he immediately leaves the library.

Ben goes to Olive's house, following the address that Olive gave to him. He arrives at her house, it's a normal house in a housing area. Ben knocks on the door, and a middle-aged man comes out.

"What do you want, brat? If you want to meet my daughter, then forget it! I won't let my daughter date anyone except me."-Man cross his hands

"Are you Olive's father?"-Ben

"That's right, as long as this Olaf is still alive, no boy can get close to my cute daughter Olive."-Olaf

'Uwaah, an overly doting father.'-Ben

"Well, I'm here to pick up my sisters who play with your daughter."-Ben

"Your sisters? Then it's fine, as long as you don't come here to meet my daughter. But I won't let you get inside, you aren't allowed to see my daughter even if you just want to pick up your sisters. I will call them for you."-Olaf

'This guy is troublesome.'-Ben

"Alright, they're Wendy, Bella & Carla."-Ben

*SLAM* Olaf slams the door without saying anything else. Ben is really pissed by this, he will beat Olaf if that guy isn't his students' father.

'Calm down Ben, he is not as bad as your superiors in the Military that will spit on your face.'-Ben calm himself down

Sometime later, Wendy, Bella & Carla come out with Olive. Ben didn't see Olaf with them, so he's confused.

"Where's your father?"-Ben

"H-he's..."-Olive

"Dead."-Bella

"Huh?"-Ben

"He is dead after Olive said that she hates him."-Carla

"Olive is angry at him for being rude to you and not allowing you to come inside the house."-Wendy

Ben sweatdrop at this family's drama and sighs.

"Well, whatever, let's go home, girls! Gramps will be worried if we return too late."-Ben

""Ye~s""-Wendy, Bella & Carla

"Olive, thanks for playing with them, see you again next week. Don't forget to train okay? I expect good progress from you."-Ben

"Yes, I'll show you that I am the best."-Olive said with high enthusiasm

"Ooh, that's a good spirit."-Ben

After that small talk, Team Ben leave and return to their guild. Wendy, Bella & Carla keep telling the story of what they did in Olive's house with the other girls. They're really enjoying their time.

Ben just listens to them and smiles because they're having fun. He's really glad that they take this regular job. Wendy needs friends her age, not just older people like their guildmates. Even Ben is too old because of his mental age.

They arrive at their guild after half an hour and immediately report their job to Roubaul. Roubaul also seems happy when Wendy starts to tell him her day with her friends. He even tells Ben to be like Wendy and play with the boys too.

'Ugh, why would this old fossil ask me to do that? He knows I don't like doing something like that. There's no way I'll play with kids, right?'-Ben has a displeased expression, but he doesn't say anything to Roubaul

Roubaul knows what Ben is thinking, and he sighs. He doesn't know that Ben is 25 y.o inside, so he wants Ben to play like boys at his body's age, not just training & learning magic. But he doesn't force Ben to play and just gives advice.

The next day, Ben train again like usual, but now he is more focused on physical training. His stamina is good, so he will focus on his strength and agility. His intelligence is the fastest to grow because he keeps learning from many books.
