Chapter 84: Tower of Heaven (6)

~Third POV~

[September 16, X784]

The next morning soon came as a big meeting was being discussed within the Magic Council within Era a big argument was being held within the chambers of the meeting room with other Council Members.

*BAM*

Slamming on the desk in disbelief is Org a member of the Magic Council, where he occupied the 2nd Seat crying outrage, "You're saying that the R-System still exists?!! That's impossible!!!"

Replying to Org is Leiji another member of the Magic Council with some news coming to light about the incident at hand, "8 years ago a religious sect that worshiped Black Magic gathered vast amounts of money. Their plan was to build the R-System."

Next another of their members responded to Leiji's claims is another member of the Magic Council, "You're talking about those 7 towers, right? The Council took those down. Even their ruins should be gone."

Belno another member of the Magic Council responded expressing a worried look as she spoke out, "There were 8 towers. One was near Ka Elm sea."

Org expresses his worry about the matter of the R-System being around through gritted teeth, "Th-they couldn't have already built it, could they? Unnn…"

Belno only wishes their investigators were joking around but sadly comes to the truth of the matter, "Unfortunately, the local investigators aren't the joking kind."

Ultear within the Council Members calmly pointed out the issue in false curiosity, "So… it has been built?"

Michello another member of the Magic Council replied to input his thoughts questioning the matter, "Why would anybody be working on the R-System now?"

"The Tower of Heaven!"

Listening to the words of their young members Siegrain all eyes were on him as pointed out the issue of the name of the R-System, "It isn't called the R-System. It's called the Tower of Heaven… right?"

Michello sneers at this news but regardless starts to remember someone calling it in the ownership papers of the tower, "Yes, I think somebody did name it that according to the papers…"

Org on the other hand interrupts Michello's words as he expresses his concern about the S-System being aware to the public at large, "Shut, your mouth Sieg!! It doesn't matter what anybody calls it!! The R-System is forbidden magic!!! It has far too great an effect, on the public!! It could cause panic!!! I want the military dispatched immediately!!! We must get it under control without delay!!!"

Listening to Org's words the other Council members understand as another member with 3 eyes spoke out concerned about the lack of information ahead, "However, until we know who we're dealing with… we don't know who we're up against?"

"What?!!"

Org cried out surprised as Leiji began to share the information they managed to provide of the person in charge of the Tower of Heaven, "The force in possession of the R-System at present doesn't seem to be the old religious cult. It's some mysterious man calling himself Jellal. We have no information about him except his name."

All the other Council Members tense at the scene but Siegrain and Ultear remain calm as Yajima tilts his eyes towards the two with suspicion as the rest of the Council Members begin to argue with each other.

"The R-System ignores the rules governing human life and death."

"It is forbidden magic that gives rise to dangerous thinking!!"

"No matter who is controlling it, we must consider them an enemy!!!"

"We must send out the military at once!!!!"

*Murmur*

As the rest of the Council Members began to argue more Siegrain spoke through with his blunt words of the matter, "You are bleeding heart doves!!!"

*BAM*

His words caught the attention of his seniors slamming his hand on the table standing up gesturing for his idea to use their secret weapon in fake outrage, "Only doves would send out a peacekeeping force!!!! We need hawks here!! That thing is dangerous!!! It's too dangerous!!! You people have no idea what you are talking about!! There is only one method left of eliminating the Tower of Heaven now, right?!! The satellite square, Etherion!!!"

When Siegrain cried out the drastic measures needed for it to be possible the rest of the Council Members cried outraged at such a drastic move.

"Wha—?!"

"You're saying to use cross-dimensional destruction magic?!!"

"Are you out of your mind?!!"

"Have you calculated the damage in lives and property?!"

"It could take out a whole country within its blast radius!!!"

"Etherion is our weapon of last resort!!!"

"It's magic even more dangerous than the R-System!!!"

"Sigh…"

"The Satellite Square can affect any target on Earth!!"

"There is no other weapon aside from Etherion that can take out as big a structure as the tower!!!"

Ultear seeing the situation unravel raises her hand and votes for the use of Etherion, "I agree. And so, vote."

Org shouted out loud of such a dangerous move for them to agree, "Ultear!!! You, too!!!"

Ultear makes her point to use the Etherion to explain its needs with another Council Member's assistance, "The Council is made up of nine members. If only 3 other members vote for it, we can use Etherion."

Siegrain yelled out loud the immediate use of the Etherion as he talked to the Council Members 'nervous' of the R-System, "We don't have time to waste!!! We cannot allow the R-System to be used!!!"

While the Council Members worry about what is the right or wrong choice the Thought Projection of Jellal acting as Siegrain grinned wickedly in his mind, 'Perfect!! Now I need to force these geezers another vote for Etherion to be activated. I need its power to activate the R-System and soon Zeref will walk with the living again.'

Getting off the ship Simon's group soon saw the guards as they left behind everyone inside waiting for a chance.

The guards out front were confused as one of them began to inspect the ship after several minutes had passed looking around with one muttering, "The hell… didn't those brats say –"

*BOOOM*

A loud explosion soon engulfed the ship destroying it alerting everyone with a group of people coming out with their Magic at the ready Natsu beginning the first attack, "Now that's more like it!! Time to serve you punks the Fairy Tail special!! <Fire Dragon's Roar>!!!"

*BRRR*

Chaos soon erupted onto the battlefield of the coast of the island…

The Tower of Heaven is straight, neat, and very symmetrical. The entire building was comprised of many differently shaped sections stacked one upon the other, many of these segments being built from brick and containing large windows and doors.

*BOOOM*

*THUD*

At least it was neat and symmetrical as the surprise attacks by the Fairy Tail wizards are showing some damage being done right away from their destructive force eliminating their forces.

"<Fire Dragon's Wing Attack>!"

*BRRRR*

"<Circle Sword>!"

"<Ice Make: Ice Geyser>!"

Barrages of attacks magical attacks were aimed at the Cults of Zeref members defenseless against the continuous assaults from the Fairy Tail members surprise attacking them.

One of the cultist guards tries to call in for backup talking to a communication Lacrima, "Ah!! Those damn brats betrayed lord Jellal!! Quick get – "

*Bang*

A couple of gunshots were heard from a far distance the Archer took care of the ones in communication killing off any stragglers with clicks of bullet shells dropping from his Magic Rifle hiding in stealth using the Shroud of Shadows.

Opening Rongo Rongo Archer began to move to the locations written in the blueprints of vital areas needed for the R-System to contain the Magic Power in giant Lacrimas while gunning down any enemy in his way.

Continued to shoot down any potential threat while the main attack force dealt with the groups of armed cultists as Archer was tasked to assist in silence.

Shooting down any communication Lacrima the enemy possessed caused disarray in the chain of command as the armed cultists were flaunting around like headless chickens without any leader to guide them.

*Bang*

The surprise attack certainly was felt and heard as multiple guards heard and saw the commotion witnessing destruction at a widescale with panic filling their hearts, "What the hell is going on? Did the Magic Council already find us?!!"

Soon Simon's group with Wally, Millianna, and Sho walked towards demanding to know what was going on unaware of a change of allegiance, "What the hell are you brats – "

*Bang*

Wally shot the man between the eyes acting dandy in the situation talking to Simon in a curious tone, "That's the last guy that wasn't with us as slaves right?"

Simon nods his head to confirm as they manage to convince or knock out their previous fellow slaves away from the destruction about to come, "Right Wally. These guys are genuine Cultists of Zeref and need to be dealt with. While Erza's group handles the outside force will deal with the interior since taking care of the Communication Lacrimal's will stall before Jellal finally notices."

Sho remained quiet but agreed with the logic as they had their roles to fill according to Silva's plan of taking out the communication first voicing out his concern, "Yeah big bro Simon. But honestly… It's kind of scary how that guy came up with a plan on the fly."

Wally for his part agreed with Sho's words as they continued to take care of the Cultist of Zeref feeling a slight shiver to his spine, "Ain't that the truth Sho. To be honest, I thought we had everything planned went good as dandy as well before… well that plan came crashing down when he came as Simon."

Simon for his part agreed but nonetheless admired Silva's quick planning and usage of his mind turning this situation of chaos a reality, "I'll be first to admit when Jellal mentioned he knew everything with his Eye Magic I was skeptical to think how he would deal with an immediate threat… I was heavily wrong to assume he wouldn't use that info right away to blind me but also thank him."

Millianna looked confused and tilted her head at what Simon meant in a curious tone, "Myaaa? Thank him for beating you up?"

Simon shook his head recalling Kagura's illusion with a bright smile on his face responding to his friends, "No. Showing me I have another goal to look forward to when I finally find my little sister again. My biological one out there in the world."

They all nodded their heads with Wally smirking agreeing with Simon's idea sharing the same sentiment as his older brother is out there in the world, "Now that is the truth. A dandy man like my big bro is strong out there in the world it would be a shame if I Mad Dog Wally didn't have a future goal like you Simon old buddy."

Doing their objectives needed they focus on accomplishing them immediately defeating Jellal's forces.

*Thunk*

A chess piece soon fell by Jellal's hand putting another piece in its place before finally responding to the situation surprised by the turn of events, "Sho, Millianna, Wally, and Simon have all betrayed me for her huh? To think they would lie and attack the communications causing them to be out of commission. They are certainly ambitious."

Pausing for a moment Jellal merely smiles contently at such a situation occurring before him having fun, "But this how the game should go! It would be boring if it turned out to be all one-sided."

However, interrupting Jellal's fun Vidaldus informed Jellal about the situation occurring with concern, "Jellal-sama, we must capture Erza and start the ceremony! We don't have time for games!"

Jellal then replies to Vidaldus surprising him with his response he should be the one to deal with them while revealing their infamous title, "If that's how you feel, then why don't you go, Vidaldus? They've had their turn. Now it's mine, don't you think? Assassin's Guild Death's Head Caucus Special Guerilla Squad… Trinity Raven!!!! It's time to put you in play."

Vidaldus merely grinned as he began to switch to his main appearance, which mirrors that of an extreme Metal musician who always seems to be swinging his hair around wildly. His skin is now much paler, and he dons dark makeup around his eyes and on his lips.

Vidaldus Taka a Mage who's a member of Trinity Raven, an elite squad of highly revered Assassins in Death's Head Caucus replied with his Guitar at the ready, "YEAH!!! GO TO HELL!!! Hell!!!! I'll show them the best of the worst hell!!!

Fukuro one of the members with an owl head and a member of Trinity Raven, a group in the Assassin guild Death's Head Caucus, that worked under Jellal Fernandes spoke out as his head tilted with some surprise but his body on guard, "Hoo-hoot!"

Ikaruga the leader of the Trinity Raven, having her hand on the handle of her weapon Mugetsu-Ryu with a calm manner, "Love and life are doomed to fail. This evening, we celebrate."

The stakes have just been raised and now the incoming confrontation will soon become clear…
