6 First Mission

Previous chapter:

"Yeah, I suppose–" seeing Rune's character was already asleep, closing her eyes then faced to Sam.

"–it's time for me to logged off too. Bye!" finishing my sentence as I climbed up to my bed, tucking myself beneath the blankets. The last thing I saw before I went into my slumber and consumed into the darkness was Sam's waving in farewell.

And again, I was sucked into a hole, a dimension path leading back into reality, waking her up and proceeds to remove the headset drive as she stares away.

Just before dawn, when the darkness of the night still consumes the city. Silent streets patiently await the arrival of golden light. The sublime serenity of this time of day endues cathartic transcendence that deceives our perception of normality. The calmness that exists throughout the city is preparing itself for its termination at dawn's arrival. When it night turns to day and seemingly like a dead come alive.

I stood on a balcony, admiring the ambered beam of sun cuts through the darkness as if took on the form of a lightning bolt; awakening the inhabitants as the light floods through their windows awakening them their endless slumber. Peering through their windows, seeing people embarking on their morning. Slowly people arise and awake—they race through their routines, as if their life depended on it.

A morning breeze brushed my face with its cold grasp as the morns brings the sweet sounds of singing birds and the rustle of their leaves dancing with its flow of their branches as it clapped in sheer bliss. I was faced by the mixture of a sudden sublime encounters with beauty and blissfulness that is sunrise; become mesmerized and fall in love with the moment.

The moment, when the city is with its epiphany, is when its people realize the awe of the situation and that all of the little things form a part of a bigger picture. That is beauty, that moment is what makes the sunrise such a magical time of a day.

As the sun shines brighter and brighter, the day moves on and the magical moment near its end, no wonder people see why this time of day is grateful and impeccable, the simplicity of a sunrise can make one  change the way they see the world.

Now, I get back inside the room to prepare for the new request, a job that was taken from the Sentinels which make me filled with excitement.

I reached over my bed and grabbed the REM headset that was above at the bedside table. Before I put my headgear on, a thought came on my mind about the stone that I did on my last request. The touch of the stone that pressed on my palms was still there, leaving me something like a lost connection that was lingered through the deep of my soul. I shook my thoughts away as if it was just my imagination.

And later on, I let myself consume again into the world of Lyruxia.

When I got into the game, a pair of brown eyes were staring back at me, leaning closely on my face. A yelp escapes my lips and throw my pillow to the person infront of me, for gaining my personal space and glared daggers at him.

"Oh good, you're back. We can finally go to our quest." He said, not looking my eyes shyly.

"Ugh, Sam what were you doing?" still recovering for what happened.

"Uh nothing.." he chuckled nervously.

"Ahuh.." raising my eyebrows, not believing him as I lift myself up and sit up on my bed.

Once I glanced up at the bedside table, knowing that there's something was missing..then realize..

"Sam, where is my purse?" I said myself panickedly, searching it everywhere.

"Oh that? I thought it was a gift so I spend it all. We had breakfast, the important meal of the day, and some healing potions for the big quest we have, and lunch of course, we might be up for heaven knows how long then some snacks—" he was cut off when I yelled at him.

"Sam, most of that was food. It's a game! We don't need to eat." I whined.

"But it's so delicious.." he talked while his mouth is full, crunching them up with his teeth.

I sighed. I was saving that..

"Oh, c'mon! Everyone knows the best memories are made around a good meal." I sighed again.

"And those are my money! Thank you very much.." I threatened him, glaring at him.

He chuckled softly.

"Well, thanks for the breakfast at least." I thanked him, shoving the food on my mouth.

"Mhm, It's delicious!" I moaned, flavoring the taste of it. I wonder what's its name..

"Glad you like it!" he smiled.

I blushed, looking away.

"So..Rune left..?" noticed Rune's bed was empty.

"Yeah..she wasn't here when I logged in.." he faced at her empty bed.

"I know she wasn't interested but I thought she'd be here anyway.."

"Well, you know some people are like that for one reason or another..they just stay away.." He said sadly.

"Sometimes, people talk too much.."

We walked out the room, heading towards the bar.

Louis saw us and greeted, "Oh goodmorning, heading out?"

"Yep!"

"Well, looks like someone's raring to go that probably won't get you killed.." Owen said smirkedly.

"Why thank you! I do my pride on—Oh wait Hey!—" a sudden realization came to me.

"Thanks for the recommendation by the way, for the pastries which was extremely luscious." Sam thanked.

"That I could help, everyone knows the great journey with a hearty meal. You need breakfast, lunch, second breakfast, brunch, late lunch, early dinner, and snacks—" Louis advised.

"IT WAS YOU! You're the reason why Sam spend all the money on food—"

"Well, I bet you have to get on Val job now. Let's not keep valuating." he changed the subject.

"Ah yes, and while were on that subject. Please kindly elaborate on the story with that Sentinel captain. How long have you known eachother—" Sam asked curiously.

I shooked my head, and do the move.

"Ugh, Samuel. We don't have time for that, Let's go!" I pulled his hand and dragged him forcibly.

"Aw, C'mon! We have another cutscene since yesterday—" he whined.

"No time, get moving!" we ran heading to the camp.

"Your pals are going." Louis looked at the duos ran away.

She scoffed, revealing Rune rising under the table.

"They're not my friends, Bar man.."

"They're almost at the door.." He teased.

"Yeah, I know. I can see that. I don't care anyway..." she ignored.

"Suit yourself, if you don't have friends. You can help me here.." he turned around to see Rune disappeared.

He chuckled when he saw she ran downstairs to follow her new friends.
