Oneiric: Metanoia
Complete Synopsis -
From day till night, Nori had always believed in the good of the world, and the elysian that encompassed it. He wasn't a fool, certainly, but he wanted to see the world described just as his mother talked of. No pain, no death, no oppression. Just a world of beauty, a paradise without the need to hold hope or to dream as everything is already there for you. Akin to a show with only happy endings. A world he can watch happily and feel content at every moment.
However, this world wasn't that.
This world didn't have "heroes". It no longer had dreams. It no longer had genuine smiles. It was simply a world where your existence defined your place. Where your usefulness was controlled, and your ideals were torched.
Even so... He still loved the world. How could he not? Even a gray world is as beautiful as a pure one.
Someone like him didn't have a place in it, an outlier that wasn't meant to be a fighter, nor could he ever become one. Yet, he has to. He has to.. and he will. Was it for revenge? Was it for repentance? An infinite number of reasons plagued his conscience, yet he could never choose.
After all,
It's human nature to dream, to want, to pursue. It's in our nature to be greedy, to be angry and to reach out for the stars.
And, of course, it's in our nature to do everything we can to survive in a way we see fit. He wasn't like that, a pitiful fool who can't decide even the simplest of paths.
How much can one ignore themselves before they can't take it anymore? How much can one walk without a vision of the future and destination? To dream is a wonderful thing and to see the destroyed dreams of those around you... Well, it's a painful experience.
This isn't a self-righteous journey. This isn't a story about changing the world. No matter how much you lie and lie, this is merely just human nature. Human nature from a child with only bridges to burn for comfort on his own path.
If that path leads to ruin... then it's the only one worth walking.
