Met a cold couple.

It was a stormy Monday evening, and the entire street was deserted and pitched black. The time was just past ten o'clock, and thunder could be heard rumbling. The rain was still falling heavily, and the wind was too much for Freda to bear.

It was late at night and Freda Rowan was driving her car. She fixed her goggles properly because she needed them to see clearly.

She was currently returning from her workplace, and as the secretary of the company she works for, she had to work late to take care of some files for her manager.

Freda was having difficulties in driving her car as a result of the rain, and the more she tried to drive in the rain, the worse it got.

The car windshield was blurry, and Freda did her best to be cautious.

The sound of her phone ringing could be heard suddenly, and she had to pull over to the side of the road to pick up her phone call. "Good evening, Dad." After picking up the phone, Freda greeted the caller.

Freda was her adoptive parents' only child. She was 29 years old and has autism, but because she was well-treated, her illness does not have a significant impact on her daily life.

"Hello, baby. Are you still at your workplace?" Her father questioned her.

"No… not at all. I am on my way back home, but it's pouring outside." Her father received a response from her.

"Why did you bother driving in the rain when you know it's pouring heavily? I won't advise you to drive the car home, so why don't you take out your umbrella and park your car for the rest of the day?" Her father suggested.

She thought about it for a while and realized it wasn't a good idea. "Dad. Are you aware of the risks of parking on the side of the road? One. It most likely reduced the width of the road, especially if parking is perpendicular to the road. It contributes to vehicle collisions. In such circumstances, bumps and prangs are common. It poses environmental risks, encourages theft, and…"

"Hahaha. That's enough baby girl. You should listen to me because I'm your father and I know what's best for you?" Mr. Rowan, Freda's father, suggested this to his daughter over the phone.

One characteristic of autistic patients is that they think and act differently than other people, which distinguishes them.

ASD (autism spectrum disorder) was a developmental disability caused by brain differences. ASD patients frequently struggle with social communication and interaction, as well as restricted or repetitive behaviors or interests.

People with ASD may have different ways of learning, moving, or paying attention, and while Freda walks normally, she has a completely different way of learning and paying attention.

Freda exhaled after hearing her father's statement and declared in a friendly tone. "Around the year 1500, the word 'Dad' was first recorded. According to scholars, the word DAD derived from the first noise that children make. 'Dad' or 'Dada' sounds similar in many languages and is made up of two similar-sounding consonants. I'm not your biological daughter, so I didn't call you Dad when I was a kid because I was in an orphanage. Because the definition of a Dad states that he is a male parent, I will pay attention to your words." Freda asserted.

Her father was already accustomed to his daughter's manner of speech, and he understands that she does not mean any harm. One thing about his daughter was that she is too direct, which was typical of autistic patients.

"Alright. If you're going to listen to me, I'd appreciate it if you get out of the car by grabbing your car umbrella. Make sure to protect yourself from the rain and place a safety signal at the front and back of your vehicle. When you're done, lock your car and walk to a nearby location to wait for the rain to stop before calling a cab." Her father declared.

"I'll do as I'm told, Dad." She mumbled for a moment before pausing. "I believe there is a reason you called me at this time of day." She continued.

Her father understands that keeping something from Freda was impossible, but he must force his mouth shut. "I'll tell you tomorrow, but for now you must follow the instructions I gave you." Freda nodded in agreement to her father's advice.

After wishing her father a good night, she decided to do as her father instructed her. Freda also grabbed her backpack and walked inside the rain, making sure her backpack was secured.

Freda waited for the rain to stop for more than an hour, but when she realized it wasn't getting any better, she decided to walk home.

The umbrella she was holding was useful at first, but it quickly became obsolete. The umbrella was damaged as a result of the strong wind.

She began running with the damaged umbrella in her right hand and a multi-colored puzzled box in her left.

Freda enjoyed having the box nearby because it made her felt safe.

The storm grew stronger, draining her entire body and she decided to seek shelter under a bridge.

When she arrived at the bridge, she was about to discard her ruined umbrella when she noticed a young man and a woman.

It was extremely dark, but the only way she knew the two individuals were a man and woman was because of their voices.

Freda discarded the umbrella and was about to continue walking towards her house when a cold voice abruptly stopped her. "Stop and turn around to face me." The voice command.

Freda slowly turned around as instructed by the voice. She had mistakenly assumed that the owner of the voice was speaking to her. "Do you need anything else from me, Jayden?" Another person declared.

The first voice belonged to a man, while the second voice, which just asked a question, belonged to a woman.

"Savannah, I want you, and why are you being so cruel to me? I have feelings for you, and you know they are genuine, right?" The young lady was asked by a man named Jayden.

As he confessed his love to the lady, he appeared unconcerned because his voice was cold. It was almost as if he was forced to do so, and for the first time in Freda's life, she found herself being curious rather than panicking.

She was curious as to why the young man was cold when he has clearly stated that he was in love with the lady.

"You want me?" Savannah sarcastically declared. "I'm not something you should want." She went on, sounding enraged. Her words were as cold as ice, and they were lethal.

Jayden's voice, as well as Savannah's, was cold, and to Freda, they both appeared to be a compatible match.

Jayden exhaled and reached for Savannah's hands, but she shoved his hands away, causing him to smile amusingly. "Don't touch me, you indigent individual. You are an orphan, and you should know where you belong." The lady barked as she insulted Jayden.

Because Freda was beneath the bridge, the rain was unable to fall on her, so she took the initiative to wait for the rain to stop while she began watching the two couples.

"Savannah, come on. I've already told you that I love you, so why are you treating me this way? You once said you loved me, so stop acting up." Jayden declared, his voice hypnotic and seductive.

Freda couldn't see his face, but she believed that his lips curled into a smirk after his statement.

Jayden wasn't afraid to let go of Savannah because she wasn't valuable to him. He has only used Savannah to provided a roof over his head because he ran away from home, and he has no romantic feelings for her.

Jayden was a playboy who always used his charm to get the girl he wants.

"Did I just hear you say LOVE? In this situation, you still agree to say you love me, huh?" Savannah questioned Jayden, and she sounded irritated. "I'm in love with you as well, Jayden, but we can't be together. You're broke, and I'm a needy lady. I can't keep providing for you because it feels like I'm caring for a child."

Jayden inhaled deeply while licking his lips and dipping his fingers inside his hair. "I've already stated that I intend to work hard. I told you I'd be great, so give me some time." Jayden stated.

Jayden initially concealed his identity from Savannah. He was the CEO of one of the city's largest corporations.

Being a CEO necessitates dedication to one's company, and Jayden was attempting to avoid his responsibilities in order to live his life to the fullest.

He has been diagnosed with stage four cancer and has only three months before he dies, so he wanted to enjoy himself while he still has some time left on earth, and because he was an orphan who built his company with his hard earned money, he handed his company over to a highly trusted individual who managed his company on his behalf, so he has nothing to worry about.

Currently. Jayden closes the gap between them, his lips curved into an amusing smile.

Savannah's gaze was locked with Jayden's, and when they were close to each other, Savannah became immobile. She was drawn to him because of his allure.

"Come on Savannah, you know I'll always treat you right." He mumbled as he placed his hand on her shoulder and locked his gaze on hers.

Jayden leant in closer to Savannah's ear, biting the helix of Savannah's ear.

She closed her eyes, determined not to be duped by Jayden.

Jayden was impoverished in the eyes of Savannah and she has been caring for him. Savannah lived under the same roof as him, and the house was hers.

Jayden sucked her skin as he kissed her ear and moved slowly towards her neck.

Savannah gathered her courage and whispered. "You are a playboy, and the moment you become financially stable, I will turn into a piece of trash in your eyes." She yelled.

Jayden pulled away from her, amused that she is attempting not to fall for him. "Jayden, I have something to tell you." Savannah declared in a cold and flat tone.
