Atlas grabbed my hands. "Promise we'll be friends forever?" I smiled and nodded "Promise." I replied.

"Elirian! Elirian! come on, snap out of it! Wake up."

"You may come in now." A stern voice said. My hands trembled as I pushed open the large detailed wooden doors. The cold wood sent shivers down my spine. "I am so not ready for this." I put on the politest face I could muster. "Have a seat." The head mistress, Mrs. August offered me her hand. "Welcome to Hiereath Hills Academy."

I thanked her and listened as she began her long speech about how great the school is, the rules, how demerits work, and all that junk. Her voice become increasingly boring, I tuned her out.

I had begged my dad to let me stay, but no, I have to go to some stupid school full of royalty and other rich people. It's not the school in particular that I hate rather it's the students.

Although there is one student that personally I despise the most. That's for me to think about at another time.

"Well since that's all sorted out, there is a student waiting outside to guide you perhaps you might know him. Run along now." She said escorting me out of her office.

The second I stepped out of the office I a pool of relief washed over me. I'd gotten through that quickly, now I hope the rest of the year will pass just as I quickly. I didn't even realize that someone was standing in front of me, my guide.

My eyes moved on their own, and looked up. "This can't be happening." I thought to myself. Why him out of all these people? "Elirian." He said gritting his teeth.

"Atlas." I replied. It felt weird seeing someone who had been very close to me, a totally different person.

It took me a moment to register he was walking I grabbed my bag and followed along.

"Let me tell you this man has long strides my short legs can barely keep up with." Burgundy is a horrible color on him. Especially since that's all I can see since his back is to my face and he's about a foot taller than me

I dreaded each step I took, my head was spinning and I was seeing black and white. "Keep up." He said from in front of me, I stood still. "Not again." It was as if each beat in my heart felt like rain hitting a bucket I could hear and felt it. I begin to sway and darkness consumed me.
