Danmachi-Angels of the forge

Regulus pov:

I was doing my morning spear routine while waiting for mom or dad to show up for today's training; they should be back today. Last week, they left on a long trip to escort some merchants. One or both take some odd jobs occasionally for some extra money. This is the first time I've been home alone, even though our neighbor stops by every night to make sure I'm okay. Mom left some food, and I get all sorts of food from GoB, and the boy has been a godsend. I'm not completely sure how it works, but being able to turn mana into an edible hamburger or pizza has to be one of the greatest uses of magic I've discovered, the best being soda.

It has been six years since the day my parents agreed to train me in everything they knew. My father used two short swords when he was an active adventurer, so he started by showing me single-sword style, then slowly shifted into dual-wielding as I progressed. You would've thought that dad would have been responsible for my physical training, but no, that duty went to mom, along with meditation for centering oneself and feeling mana/mind, yoga/footwork exercises to always stay balanced, tracking/countertracking to always be alert, and flame training. Oh boy, was that a revelation?

*Flashback*

As I stare at my flaming hands, I try to focus on turning it off, and slowly it extinguishes. "Dad, did you see that? It was like some super-cool magic. Where did mom go?" I asked. "I don't know,looking around, dad continued,she looked a bit startled." As we were thinking about mom's reaction, there was a loud bang startling us, and then mom reintered the room shouting," I found it! I'm so glad this didn't get lost when I left Orario." She then shows me a book called History of Liones.

"Before I married your father, my name was Melinda Liones. This book here contains some of our family history. Back during the time of heroes such as Albert Waldstein, before the gods descended, < my ancestor contracted a spirit of light. She was a great mage, and having been imbued with light, she used it to heal allies and slay enemies. As time passed and spirits started to die out or disappear, something happened in the dungeon, corrupting some spirits, driving them mad and causing them to disperse. Since Leo, the spirit of light, was a greater spirit, he kept his sanity, but the corruption changed him. His light was darkened into a twisted flame that would feed on light itself. Later in life, they settled down and began a family; they had a single son before Leo mysteriously dispersed. In memory of him, his son took on the last name Liones; because he was a half-spirit, he was able to wield the dark flames that fed on light to go against the monsters of the world." (Leo and Eclipse Leo from Fairy Tail couldn't find a good spirit in Danmachi.)

I sat there listening and couldn't help but think, 'Is this some fairy tail 7DS crossover verse?' (It's not), but then again, Danmachi didn't really name spirits aside from Aria. When mom finished, I couldn't help but say, "So we are related to a spirit of light or darkness, and I managed to manifest its abilities?" "Yes, exactly; it hasn't been seen in generations!!!" mom said. Dad was just staring at her, shocked, because he knew none of this. Mom said," With this book, I'll be able to teach you how to control them and help with your magic training so you get a jump start on the competition.".

*Present*

As I was finishing up with the spear, I heard the back door open. "My little prince, we have returned! mom yelled as she and dad came into the backyard. As soon as dad saw the spear in my hand, he raised an eyebrow and asked, "Where did you get that spear from?" 'Shit shit shit, how the hell am I supposed to tell them where I got it from? I know, I'll just play it off completely normal to have a super magic treasury.' (Mc had been training all week in the spear since he had gotten time alone, and having already mastered his father's fighting style, he wanted to get started working the spear to be well rounded.)

"Oh, this? I got it from my treasury. Why?" "Regulus, what treasury?" dad asked. "This one,"  I said as a golden portal opened next to me and I slid the spear back inside GoB. "Honey, when did you open your treasure? mom asks, and dad stares bewildered. "Dunno just kind of happened a few days ago; it has all this cool stuff inside, though for some reason I can't call most of it yet. Maybe I have to be stronger or something; right now it's just a bunch of different weapons, some training manuals, and utensils for cooking and eating. Oh yeah, there is a bunch of gold and jewles too." 'NO WAY in hell, I tell them I can make food' My parents just looked at me. gobsmacked dad then said,Son, you must promise me never, and I mean NEVER disclose this ability to anyonene, his face looking deadly serious. Mom continued, "Yes, don't tell anyone, and if it doesn't show up on your status sheet, then don't even tell your God. If it becomes known that you have storage magic, all sorts of bad people will hunt you down to work for them or kill you so others won't be able to." "Okay, mom,dad, I promise I won't tell a single soul," I said as seriously as I could.

"So, how was the mission? Did anything cool happen? Did you fight monsters? Did you meet anyone new? Was there any exciting news? I asked them. Mom and dad laughed and replied, "Everything was fine; there were a few monsters, but surface monsters are weak for the most part; no one new really stands out; and the most exciting news is that apparently Evilus has been on the verge of defeat." "That's great; I hope everything turns out well," I said.

Over the next 4 years, I perfected my fighting style; coating my arms and legs in fire without destroying my clothes was quite the workout. Once combat was down, I started reading various manuals for forging. After my 13th birthday, mom and dad would take me to kill surface goblins once a month. The first time I killed one, I was vomiting for about 20 minutes. Although I felt an increase in stats, nothing too noticeable happened. Since I killed my first goblin, I noticed the connection between me and my angels strengthening, but I still couldn't summon them.

Today is my 15th birthday. There are still 2 years before Cannon starts, and I plan on bringing up going to Orario with my parents. I walked into the living room and saw my father carving a piece of wood, and my mother was reading a book. *ahem* I said,Mom, dad, I have decided that since I'm now 15, I want to go to Orario to become an n adventurer." They both looked at me, then at each other, and then dad just shrugged. Mom gave me a long look and said, Regulus, while you have exceeded my every expectation, I first want you to give me your plan for when you arrive at Orario and what kind of family you want to join before I give you my blessing." I paused and thought for a moment, then said, "I'll set out early one morning, then head north-east, and since it's only 3ish km, I should be able to make it and get in line quite early. Once I make it into the city proper, I'll register with the guild, then see what Familia are recruiting, or if none of the ones I want are open, I'll wait. While waiting, I'll stay at an inn and wait; hopefully, selling my crafted weapons to a smith shop will get me the money I need. If not, just spend some gold." Mom looked at me proudly and replied, "Wonderful plan, so what family do you want to join? I have an idea but want to make sure." I replied, "Hephaestus Familia, it will allow me to perfect my craft, have a backing, and they go on occasional explosions with other Familia."
