Jian An, a young engineer, finds himself in a world where alchemy, used to create powerful pills, albeit reserved to a select few. Using his scientific knowledge, he introduces methods that revolutionize pill-making, threatening the control of the alchemists. His innovation sparks conflict, pitting tradition against progress. As the world plunges into chaos, Jian An must steel his resolve and decide how far he is willing to go to protect his vision.
In an incandescent desert, where only the most tenacious creatures have the ability to survive.
A caravan was advancing slowly, from the way they were dressed, they were all warriors seasoned by several battles on the verge between life and death. However, a peculiarity was that all of these did not have legs, but rather snake tails.
In one of the cars, a child was tied by his hands and feet, completely unable to move. Something not strange because humans and this race had a long history of wars and prejudices.
The strange thing was that even though the boy was in a position in which any other person would despair, his face reflected calm and confidence, and the way he was treated by the guards, who constantly gave him cold glances but didn't dare to do anything to him, reflected that he indeed had the confidence to feel calm.
If someone saw this scene, their eyes would pop out, this is because years ago, the snake people and the human empires had a war in which the former lost and were banished to the desert, a place that is totally hostile to them because of the conflict between high temperatures and their cold-blooded metabolism.
Therefore, warriors, who normally do not hesitate to destroy any human that crosses their path, are practically escorting a human child is totally unthinkable.
However, in the world, there are always exceptions. The fact that they are cold-blooded implies one thing, the snake people could never produce an alchemist, people who are capable of refining treasures of heaven and earth in the form of pills, since these require their attribute to be fire.
This boy is called Jian An (建安), from his expression one might think that despite being young, he is someone with enough experience in life to face the current situation calmly, but the truth is that his age is no more than 6 years old, and his calm is nothing more than the last barrier he has left to survive while trying to achieve his ambition.
(A/N: I put in hanzi here, 建 (Jian) means to build or establish and安 (An) means peace or tranquility. I wanted him to be a character who destroys with the intention of building a new peaceful order.)
He is originally not from this world, his original world was called Earth, which was part of the solar system as its third planet. He was originally a university student pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering.
Being an orphan and never having met his parents, he learned at an early age what responsibility and effort were. As a child, the situation in the orphanage was not ideal, so fights were a recurring occurrence. If it had not been for the fact that he understood the world around him in time, he would have ended up as just another thug.
At 15 years old he had not yet been adopted by anyone, so he decided to leave the orphanage and look for some way to make a living. If it is said that he was unlucky, it is true since there were times when he had to eat from the garbage to survive, if it is said that he is lucky, it is also true since he won the lottery the first time he bought a ticket. Although the prize was not much, it was enough for him to use as a base, he looked for a place to live and entered an academy to recover the years of study he had lost.
At 20 years old he finally entered a university. Since he was a child, he had admired the great constructions that humans had made throughout history, so he did not think much about the career he had to choose. However, just when his life was already starting to improve, truck-kun did his job.
One day like any other he was walking down the street when he saw that a child was about to be run over, he desperately tried to save him, but unfortunately, he slipped on a toy truck, fell and broke his neck.
When he regained consciousness, he was in a different world, his father was a first-grade alchemist, these are a highly respected profession, it's a shame that his father was not talented enough to level up. Because of that, he dedicated himself to studying new methods for producing pills.
It didn't take long for Jian An to adapt to this new world. He, who had never tasted the happiness of having parents, learned to love those in this life with all his strength.
The more he learned about the world, the more he realized the constant dangers that lurked underneath the surface. This was a world of cultivation, in which there were people so powerful that destroying mountains was as easy as flipping their palm.
He began to demonstrate his genius and at the age of 5 he had already learned all the basic knowledge that a first-grade alchemist required; however, he could not put it to the test since his cultivation was not high enough.
However, Jian An was someone who would not give up easily. He understood that the most powerful medicinal plants required an alchemist since the important thing in these was the energy inside and that if they were not processed in an adequate way then this property would be lost. However, this did not happen with the most common herbs.
Who was he? An engineering student, and one of the best. Possibly in the theoretical field there is no one more qualified than him.
Taking his father's notes, he began to investigate and achieved what no one had ever achieved before in this world, to create a pill despite not being an alchemist, although it was so basic that it could barely be considered one, it was enough to turn the entire continent upside down.
Although he did not know it, there are other people who are also capable of doing it, although they all share a common characteristic, they are cultivators and their element is fire,
He, on the other hand, was just an ordinary person.
The process was not that complicated, first he selected the herbs according to a recipe that his father gave him, then he dedicated himself to studying those plants for a few months in every way he could, doing studies on where they grew, what properties they had, how long they took. in maturing, if there was any process after harvesting in preparation for the pill, which exactly part of the plants was used and which were discarded in the process, etc.
Later, he began to look for elements that would help isolate these properties of plants, just as mercury is used to separate gold.
Finally, once he had all this data, he created a little furnace. He knows perfectly well that what influences concoction is temperature and pressure, so the furnace was capable of adjusting pressure and temperature using valves and refrigerant.
Thanks to his father being an alchemist, despite only being grade 1, he was able to obtain the resources for such a project, otherwise it would have been impossible.
The most important thing is in the furnace. Jian An noticed that the study of nature was far behind in this world, and the reason was that everyone put their energies into cultivation, as they preferred individual progress to collective progress.
He lamented that and wondered if his old world would have been the same if they had gained some similar power.
For example, when Jian An explained to his father how a valve works and what a refrigerant was, he felt as if a new door was opening. Asking how he knew that, Jian An only responded that he was observing nature, which is not a lie, in any world nature will always be the most important teacher that any researcher will have.
Jian An could only lament the common sense of this world which makes it easy to ignore many things to focus on others.
The problem arose when he showed his parents what he had achieved. At that moment instead of being happy because their son achieved something that no one else had achieved in thousands of years, they just turned pale and started to shake.
For him, it wasn't so difficult. Al alchemist only used his sense to analyze, the wood element to control and guide the medicinal energy and their fire element to adjust the temperature. The only thing that Jian An did was to separate that into many little steps so that a pill could be prepared by any normal people with the help of the corresponding instruments.
They immediately explained to Jian An that the profession of alchemist was highly respected and envied in this Dou continent, which gave them great power and social status above others. If the world knew that it was possible to make pills without being alchemists, even the most basic ones, they would instantly become enemies of them. It would not be an exaggeration to say that the entire empire would be razed to the ground overnight.
His father was an alchemist, so he understood very well that, and although his mother was a Dou Ling, that power was a joke in front of the world.
The three decided to destroy all the research and data collected so far.
However, Jian He was still unwilling to leave things as they were. Throughout his past life he always longed for the great minds that left their names in history. For him, each country had its heroes, its presidents, kings, generals, emperors, and a countless number of people who are remembered and admired, but only the intellectuals, those who contributed to the advancement of the human race, were honored by everyone regardless of religion, country or race.
The possibility of being one of those people, even if his name is erased from history, that he is the one who makes this stagnant world begin to move forward once again, filled him with an ambition that he never thought he possessed.
So, before his small furnace was destroyed, he wrote a letter to his parents and left the house at night, when they were not paying attention to him.
However, he didn't know much about cultivators, he knew of their tremendous strength, but he didn't know their keen senses, mostly because he was always a quiet child and his parents never controlled him very much.
From the first step he took out of the house, two silhouettes followed him stealthily to protect him.
They saw how he used his money wisely, his way of negotiating, how he tried to protect himself as much as he could, they saw his tears, and how he called them at night when he missed them.
Jian An traveled and learned more about the empire, two months later, when his money was going to run out and he had no idea how to get more, he decided it was all or nothing.
He headed to the Tager desert and after thinking about it for a while, he went in.
That's when his mother was about to stop him, but was instead stopped by her husband.
He knew of the snake people and their need for pills, but due to their inability to produce alchemists, they could never get more than a few when attacking humans.
It can be said that if Jian An managed to enter safely with them, then that would be the safest place in the world for him.
When a patrol captured Jian An, he used all the resources at his disposal to take him to his capital.
The moment his parents saw how they put him on a cart and treated his little furnace with care, they knew that from that moment on their son had arrived at the place he should be. Such irony that it was with the enemy of their race.
For them, Jian An was always an anomaly, his intelligence and perseverance were not seen in anyone his age, he was undoubtedly a prodigy.
Children generally inherit the attributes of their parents, so they were sure that he would leave his mark on the empire as an alchemist. But now things had changed so much that they didn't know what to do.
A 6-year-old boy had ventured out into the world. He did not ask for help from them, because he knew that the possibility of them accepting was high. For Jian An, who came from a society where the number of stories was higher than the number of people, no secret was eternal, and when it came to light, it would be his parents who would pay the price for it without hesitation. Such a tragedy was not uncommon.
In his letter, he only apologized for being a bad son and not being able to fulfill his responsibility to them. Furthermore, he promised them that at some point he would return for them.
'If our son chose his path, the least we can do is not hinder him. It's time to get stronger too.'
Stopping him was easy, but that meant killing his dream, perhaps that was something even crueler than killing him. Despite being a child, in this cruel world, some decisions must be made.
— Hey you! We are about to arrive at the village.
— Thank you
— Hmp !
The treatment was not the best, but Jian An understood his position and did not complain. You could tell that he was surrounded by enemies. He wasn't like those idiotic protagonists who behaved arrogantly all the time. Now he was very weak and had no one's protection. If one of these guards was in a bad mood and killed him, then everything would be over for him.
Notify Commander Yue Mei , there is something important to discuss with her. Yes sir!
Waiting at the entrance of the village, Jian An waited as calmly as he could for the others to decide what to do with him.
From the leader's respectful tone, one could infer that the so-called Yue Mei was someone of high rank among the snake people. That was good news, the higher his rank, the less time it would take him to prove himself, which prevented the emergence of many variants in his plan.
After a while, an extremely beautiful and well-built woman approached her from the center of the village, from her heroic bearing and way of moving among the others, one could see that she was an excellent warrior. Jian An was grateful to be a child right now, otherwise, he doesn't know if he could control his hormones. He knew that women of this race had a reputation for being extremely beautiful and he still ended up being surprised. If only one subordinate was like this, he couldn't imagine what level Queen Medusa's beauty would reach.
