Someone Feed me

Inside forty-fourth training ground, also commonly known as forest of death. People may remember it more as the place where the second stage of the chunnin exam were held.

A young toddler about 2 was trying to catch fish by the river which cut the forest in half. Nearby, an odience composed of a bunch of flame monkeys (D rank chakra beast) watched their green head dinner.

'I miss mama and sisters but I miss food even more. I haven't eaten in 2 days.'

Levi started feeling the chills from the gazes of the hungry monkeys so he quietly stood up and left. Luckily, it was about to rain so the monkeys didn't follow the boy and instead went to find shelter.

"There's a building in the middle of the forest but my plan to leave this scary forest."

It was sure that the rain would flood this part of the forest. So Levi had to leave quickly.

Entering Konoha was easy, but it was almost impossible to enter the noble's district, where most of the forbidden Jutsus were preserved. Entry of non-shinobi without permit would be a grave crime. And so, Levi waited by the gate hoping to catch a guard's attention.

However, konoha was still in festive mood as they got it's new Hokage and so security was light by the border. Most of the guards were stationed in the central part of the village.

The rain continued to fall and Levi was already soaked. He also seemed to have fever.

Crack!

Kaboom! Boom!

Lightning flashed and thunder echoed. Levi hid under a bench in the park. Curls himself and cried for help under the cold rain. But no one heard the child's cry.

"Mama.... It cold...."

For hours Levi resisted the cold and sleep, he was in pain and all he wanted was a warm bed and a delicious food.

The rain had subsided by midnight and the next morning, Levi roamed around hoping someone would feed the hungry toddler, only for the guards to slash him with kunai and throw him out. The shinobi world had transformation jutsu, so no one could blame the guards for being paranoid.

Levi was absolutely famished. With the little strength he had left, he ate from the garbage bin.

This became his new routine- dumpster dive, keep edibles in the system inventory. Search for clothes, and sleep to conserve energy. A few people with humanity even gave him clothes and fresh food. This continued for four days and three nights.

On the fourth night, Levi was seated by the corner of a restruant, his face was bruised, his ribs broken and he would die if not treated soon. Why was he in this state? The restruant owner had paid a guard to chase him out from the vicinity for disgusting away his poor customer.

Like a lifeless doll, Levi laid there gasping for air.... waiting for death...

"Hey! Why are you sleeping there, it's dirty." a sweet voice of a child, probably not older than the current him called out. Is it an angel... calling me to the afterlife? Mused Levi.

"W..wa. water.."

Just one last time... please. Quench my thirsting throat...

Seeing a puddle of blood scared the poor little girl.

"Okway! I'll go ask mama."

Please don't leave... Levi wanted to ask the child to not go but he couldn't even speak... he continued to lay there as his eyes started loosing it's light.

Himawari rushed to her mother and pulled on Hinata's clothes asking her to come along. Hinata was buying groceries and was bothered by it. However, she did wanted to see what her daughter had found. And so, she was led by the toddler with blue eye and wiskers.

Himawari led her to an empty alley, there was no one around but a dead child in a puddle of blood. Hinata may have seen death but she was a mother now. And seeing a baby even younger than her daughter in the puddle of blood reminded her of the unfairness of life. It scared her.

Activating the byakugan she saw a string of pulse in the child's heart. 'There's still hope!' Holding the green haired child and Himawari, she flickered as quickly as possible to the hospital. And so she was able to save the child's life, just the last moment.

...

Outside the emergency room. Naruto held the weak Hinata giving her support. ' Hinata you're a very kind soul.' Thought Naruto and continue to console Hinata.

Sakura seeing them smiled gently and began missing Sasuke herself. Still she asks for her doubts to be clarified, to which Naruto explains.

"He's simply nobody. I've looked the report and it says he was rescued from bandits. Just a 2 years old toddler without parents..."

My god. Gasped the two lady and Naruto continued.

"I've matched a few reports and the conclusion is not something very pleasant.... the baby name's Levi, from the Fuma clan. He was taken into the orphanage not long ago, however he was chased out the very night. The matron had a few displeasure with Green hair, especially someone from the Fuma."

Naruto clenched his fist and calmed his anger. No one better than him knew how that felt like. Letting out an inaudible sigh, he continued.

"He then hid himself inside ground forthy-fourth for two days before coming to Konoha. I don't what happened after that but we can conclude it was hell for him.."

No one spoke. The silence was suffocating.... the world was still cruel as ever.

But everyone here, knew what they had to do. Naruto had become hokage not because he wanted fame, he once did but not anymore. He had promised to remove any unnecessary pain from the village.

And it seems old dissatisfaction were still there. He would have to re-educate everyone.

Thinking for a bit, Sakura made her decision. Her eyes beaming with determination.

"Naruto, Hinata.... I'm going to adopt him." Sakura just wanted to help the child and surely, Sasuke would understand her motive as well.

"That'll be for the best... thank you Sakura." Naruto smiled grateful.

"Thank you Sakura." Hinata said holding Sakura's hand.

The Uzumaki couple appreciated that a lot. All of them were kind souls. Filled to the brim with love and humanity.... and also money.
