Chapter 1A Bounty Hunters Life

"Agh, this place smells like a rotten sock with feces."

The crimson-eyed boy looked at the crooked building, an abandoned school made of wood about to crumble down, it seemed very old, a building made over a hundred years ago.

And it's age was obvious.

With the deadly smell coming out, and the collapsing signs and ripped wood.

He couldn't just enter without equipment.

'Well, Well, this thing is gonna become useful for once.'

Crim took a gas mask from his huge leather backpack stuffed to the brim with daggers and gems, and some food.

He ruffled his brown hair and strapped it on.

Crim stared at the building, it gave him a weird vibe.

The smell was familiar, but he couldn't point out what it was.

He sighed and pulled out a chained weapon from his holster with a grin, it was an old-fashioned kusarigama, a weapon from a collapsed country.

He was gonna treat himself to a nice dinner after this.

That was the way of a bounty hunter, after all, to hunt and eat.

"Now why would a target be at this place?"

It smelled terrible, so even for a hunted man, it didn't seem like a good place to camp, the fact that it was close to a village didn't make it any better.

…What if?

Nononono, It wasn't time to talk about logic, he just had to do his job.

With a sigh, he approached the door and rotated the doorknob.

BAM, CRACK.

"HOLY… that scared me"

The door fell and cracked into pieces.

"...???"

He entered inside carefully avoiding the pieces of wood, but when he looked back the door disappeared.

"Concrete?"

The doors and windows had disappeared and the walls were turned into white concrete, it looked like a regular high school, just without windows and doors.

Illusion spell?

"Fu- Damn it."

He walked to the long corridor which had all the classrooms, it was like a prison without the windows, and the creaking lights just put him on edge, making him swing his weapon at every sound.

Crim hated horror games and films.

One time he went to a haunted mansion, and it was the worst mistake of his life, but for some reason, he was way more horrified at this point.

The Illusion wasn't a scary one, so maybe it was a unique ability that inflicts fear.

"That's tricky."

He entered one of the classrooms and stared at the whiteboard and the desks, there was no orb.

Sighing he exited and then…

Flick, Crack, fizz.

The lights went out.

"I'm gonna crush the balls of the pig that created this."

With a face of contempt, he held out his hand in the air.

"Inflict my desires and burn them with the deepest light, shine them through my way, and let it guide me, Lantern."

FWOOSH, Crackle.

A flame appeared on his right blade, burning bright as it lit the way, giving the surroundings an orange tint.

It wasn't that bright, but it could do the job.

He went along the hallway, checking a few classrooms with a disappointed expression on the way, just how long was this hallway? He thought as he reached the end of it.

There were two hallways, one to the right and one to the left.

"As they say, right is right, and if it's not your balls are gone."

He smiled brightly under his gas mask as he pointed the kusarigama forward.

Crack.

"What was that!?"

He turned to his back getting into position with his weapon, there was nothing there… Phew

Crim turned back with a slow momentum, making sure nothing was there.

Crack.

"I HEARD YOU BASTARD."

Crim flipped behind him, launching to the roof and propelling himself to the sound, as he crashed the floorboards turned into wood and cracked into two, along with a shadow hand that was stuck to his blade.

It was a humanoid shadow with no features, like a stickman you would draw as a kid.

"Ah, guess I will spare your balls."

With a sigh and a grin, he raised his hooks as the flames imbued on it became enraged as he brought the core's life to its end with a mighty swing.

Crack.

The concrete slowly turned to wood like how a drunk man would see the world, making Crim a bit dizzy as he looked at the melting illusion.

"AH"

He looked at his blade, where the core once was, there were…

Three corpses stacked on top of each other, and a pool full of blood.

None of them was the target, Crim stood up, his eyes widened with horror.

"How… How many is this?

His lips trembled as he looked at the scene with stock, staring at his feet stained with red.

The whole corridor was a pool of blood, and corpses turned into mincemeat.

I Can Copy And Evolve Talents

Across the vast convolution of worlds, divine beings rule as absolute sovereigns—each god assigned dominion over a singular realm. Skirmishes are inevitable, whether for power, amusement, or sheer pettiness. One such battle, between Nexus, the God of Trickery, and an aging, senile deity, resulted in an anomaly… A soul misplaced. Elliot, an ordinary man, was never meant for Ul’Tra-el. But fate, or perhaps a cosmic prank, had other plans. Unlike other worlds, Ul’Tra-el is an aberration—one that developed a voice. A voice that diverged from the natural order. A voice that changed everything. Its foundation cracked, leaking dimensions into one another. Rifts tore open like festering wounds, vomiting forth unspeakable horrors—monsters not meant to exist. But the world did not sit idly by. In response—perhaps an act of self-preservation—the world gifted its inhabitants power. Talents awakened, granting people extraordinary abilities. And for every rift sealed, the Voice of Ul rewarded them generously. Survival was simple: fight, grow stronger, and close the rifts… or die trying. In this ruthless, blood-soaked reality, Northern—a white-haired boy burdened by his past life—was reincarnated. But unlike the chosen heroes, he awakened as a talentless nobody. No power. No strength. No future. And when death loomed over him—when despair clawed at his soul and the cold grip of the failure threatened to take him— A Voice responded: [System Notice] [Your Soul cannot take a form.] [Searching for a Unique Pattern Ability…] [Searching…] [Search Found.] [A Unique System Ability has been detected.] [You Can Copy And Evolve Talents] ... Follow Northern through his journey as he becomes the pinnacle of this world. This a story about a white-haired boy’s rise from rubbles!! Note: This is an overpower genre but MC does not just start off like that. Even though MC can copy talents he doesn't just jump around copying talents because there's a limitation. However, his rise to strength is depicted and is an experience to enjoy. The first few hundreds would be frustrating to follow because MC is weak but that makes the experience all the more interesting when MC finally gets freaking strong and starts wiping the floor with everyones asses.

Follow Quinlan's journey as he grows in strength, amasses wealth, fights to the death, and meets lovely ladies. ... Discord: https://discord.gg/bjunEkswQ3 ... Disclaimer: I'd received a few complaints from some readers that my MC is not a real villain, and I have to agree; if you're looking for some complete psycho MC who burns random farmer villages down just for fun then don't read. The MC is a ruthless man who does evil things from time to time, but only to his enemies or those he considers to be true scum. He gains no joy from tormenting strangers. Also don't read if you want a story about buying s*x slaves and r*ping them, that doesn't happen in this novel. He will treat the women he wants to be with as if they were normal people, whether they're slaves or not.
