Blood, sweat and broken heart

I ran and I ran, away from the nightmares and demons. The branches cutting deep into my skin, my sweat running down like pearls and my heart beating against my rib cage. My legs not stopping until I reached the safe spot. As I finally slow down to catch my breath, hoping and wishing I am away from the nightmares. I feel a hand creep up my cold skin. Heavy growls and the ringing of death bells welcomed me to the world of my nightmares. And that moment, I knew there was no escape.
