Jung

Phil wakes up in the middle of the night, eyes wide open, heart pounding wild, mild sweat, and a faint fuzziness in his eyes as he glances around. He takes a few deep breaths and looks at the clock, which reads 3.2 am. There was still some time for dawn to break out so he decided to go for a stroll. Rock rushes past him to the door as he opens the door.

"So, you also want to go on a walk ha" crouch down and stroke the dog. Gets up and takes the Rock outside with him.

The sky is still dark, with a sound of silence all around, and the weather's cold. He shivers a little from the cold, and the Rock starts running around. Phil watches a playful dog going crazy for a moment, and he starts to walk while watching the sky. The starry night of dawn felt empty. Staring with a look of neither sadness nor anger nor happiness nor terrified he just stares. Unknowingly, a drop of tear slides down his face. he feels the cold sensation and just ignores it. He keeps walking with the rock following behind him for 1.30 hours and returns to the garage, scans his face, and enters. He can feel the heaviness in the air and see Rick, who is awake and working on something. He orders a drink and gets near Rick.

"Why don't you take a break today? It's the weekend. No work today, right? "Seeing Phil, Rick said with his head down, focused on his work.

"Na, we are going to finish it today." Phil takes a drink brought by the bot and takes a sip.

"What are you working on?" and he drinks it without facing him.

"Motors, the original ones are quite old. I'm replacing them."

"Good, I've also finished making his artificial muscles. We now only need to plate some cracks and replace some components." With a forced smile, he says to Rick.

"What about his program? Can it work?" still looking down, he inquired.

"I'm suspicious about something. We can test it out. I don't know, it might be good for us." says as he walks up to his desk.

They take a short break to wash up and eat something, then go back to work again. First, they disassemble the robot to its frame and take a down-up approach, intact on the frame with the reactor. The reactor did not undergo any significant changes. After that, the artificial muscles, motors, armored plates, and sensors were then replaced and attached to the mainframe. They also changed some components, Cables, and fuel cells. They only stop to eat and continue for rest of the day. The day whizzed by just like that and night fell. They checked the last things that needed to be done, and they finished with the project Jung. It takes a few minutes before starting the robot initiation process.

Power on

The 7.5-foot-tall muscular robot is beaming. The reactor started first and the red circular light lit up over his face, which Phil was eager to see again. They checked the computer for everything starting out correctly. The huge Robot Jung radiated a feeling of aliveness and stood there. After a few moments, Phil goes near him and says, "Hello, introduce yourself."

"HR1 labor class bot, nice to meet you"

"Hmm. I'm your new admin, from today onwards your name will be Jung." Phil changed some settings and registered himself as his admin in the program.

"Wow," Rick says with his mouth open and starts to clap.

"This is my friend Rick, and besides him, our pet dog."

"Nice to meet you, Rick," Jung says as he turns his head toward Rock "and Rock."

"Let's see if you can walk properly. I worked hard on your motors," Rick said, taking a tab screen in his hand to observe for any anomaly.

Jung takes his first step with his left leg, they can feel the heaviness in his leg, and starters walking slowly, Rock got scared and hide at corner, having giant machine roam around terrified him.

"Now jog a little," Rick said.

Jung slowly took up the pace and started jogging lightly around the garage.

"Good," Rick says, putting the tab away with a satisfied smile.

"Wait, I got to see something," Phil said to rick and moved closer to the computers and instructed "Jung pick up the bat and swing it around" Jung pickles up the metal baseball bat and starts to swing it left or right with one hand while remaining motionless.

"I didn't know a labor class could do that."

"I believe he can learn a lot more on his own. I discovered unexpected modules in Jung's AI program, indicating that he is not a simple robot, but rather resembles a human baby "and began to smile "I've also installed some additional models that will help, but we have to test Jung for 2 or 3 days".

"Yeah, it will be awesome. I'm going to sleep now, " Rick said and, dump himself on his bed exhausted, and slept right away.

"Jung, you can shut down now."

Phil takes a few deep breaths, bids rock good night, and retires to his bed. It wasn't even midnight when he checked the time. He made the decision to go to bed early.

The next day, he wakes up early at dawn washes up, and start Jung, take a few minutes to start

"Let's go"

"Where to?" Jung responded.

"My favorite place," he said, and started walking. With Jung, he followed him to the parking lot next to the building. After that, he looks over at the sky, which is still a little dark, and the night cold is still in the air they hopped on to the loader, Jung couldn't fit in the car.

They drove to the hill, parked near it, and started a hike. During the hike, he thought of teaching Jung many things. One of them was driving airships. He also thought of What if Jung knew what it was like to experience emotions and feelings? Will that be enough to be a human with that? Or does it take more things to be human? Will it be different from having Rick, or Arthur, or Dad, or his sister, or Mom--. He stopped his thoughts and kept walking. By the time he reaches the peak, the sky has changed its color from dark black to dark blue. He checks and still time for sunrise, he sits at his usual spot.

"come sit here just like I did" he tap next to and gesture him to do what he did.

Jung follows and does it. In his first and second, tries, he stumbles backward. Phil gets up and shows him again, "See, just like that". It took 2 more tries to get him to sit.

Phil looks forward, and Jung looks at him for a few moments.

"You have classified files on you."

"Yes, only authorized people can see the file. If you have the code, I can show you." Still staring at Phil, Jung answered.

"It's OK, everyone has something to hide." He took a few breaths, feeling the breeze on his face. Jung stays silent.

"Do you see the dead land ahead? Do you know who did that? " He sighed with his head down and picked some grass.

"I don't know, I only have limited information about the past. That I can answer after authentication."

"it's OK. I'll tell you, humans did that. War did it."

"Humans, why would they do that?"

"For many things, what do you know about humans?"

"Homo sapiens creature evolve though out the centuries on planet earth, there are many different information collected about human. War happened many times in human history."

"And for the same reason, when that time happens, the same thing happened here. " Phil interrupts.

"Aa " Jung responded, and looked straight and stayed still for time begin.

"Yesterday was my mom's death anniversary." Breaking the silence, he said.

"Was it, I'm sorry"

They both watch the bright red sun rising slowing, the glowing clouds riding through the sky with the sound of wind shaking grass freshening them up.

Phil looks toward Jung "welcome to 25th century Jung " and puts his hand forward to greet.

"Thank you," Jung said, and shook his hand.

After a while, they descend the hill and take the loader back to the garage. They enter and finds Rick pacing around. He sees them entering, "Where were you? We still have to register him on the galactic net, without it he cannot roam around. "

Phil gesture Jung to back his place

"We were on the hill, so it's not a big deal. Isn't it still a junkyard? " Phil said.

"Still, let's first register him. "Rick, who was furiously staring at him, replied.

"Today is Sunday, so let's get started. We'll finish the test and register him."

"Good".

Jung's components and sensors are put to the test.

Phil tries to test new things, like making him watch some videos and ordering him to do the exact same thing. Some of them he was able to do effectively, some didn't. Sometimes he manages to complete the tasks, but with different methods, like throwing a ball but not performing exactly like in a video. Phil also gave Jung tasks like dancing and singing to test his limits, and he did much better at singing than dancing, and they decided to never do that again. After that, they did some serious testing, and at the end of the day, Phil gave him a thick old book to read. At night, they scan him and register him under Phil's name on the galactic net.

They decide to present Jung to others the next day over breakfast. When they're done preparing, they take him to the first level and introduce him to Amber and others.

"Wow you guys did a fine job there, but isn't it look quite big" Amber teases them for having their own old robot.

After that, they also introduce Jung to Arthur.

"Hello, Jung! That 200.000 CRP worked ha, I like his muscles, skinny but muscular" gave his comment, they do more small talks and exits the cabin

"Rick I'm taking him home and also to my workplace. To experience him outside the world. "

"Sure his yours , and I slacked off quite a lot from work I better get back to it. "

Rick goes on his way and Phil exits the building with Jung.
