I sat on my desk chair spinning for the past ten minutes. Thinking about what Blake said.

It was right after school he came up to me, which was very unusual. You see Seige as I like to call him, and I used to be best friends, well at least that was before high school happened. We have been neighbors from before we were born. Our mothers were friends too. Funny enough we share the same birthday, June 7.

Growing up we did everything together.

Blake and I just drifted apart after entering high school. We were just drawn to the wrong group of people. He hung out with the jocks, while I....... basically hung out with myself. Occasionally Meghan or Haley would come over but we aren't half as close as me and Blake.

I was putting my stuff in my locker after another dreadful day in school.

"Hey Gem"

I froze, like literally.

"What is it, Blake?" I answered closing my locker.

"I need a huge favor," he said with the cutest face he could muster.

I let out a sigh "I'm not up for any more of your stunts Siege"

"This time I really need your help"

Even though we drifted apart there was still this part of me that wanted to help him.

"Fine, what is it?"

"I need you to be my girlfriend"

I stood there staring into his lightening blue eyes trying to comprehend what he just said.

I let off a slight chuckle. "You're joking right?"

The look on his face told me he wasn't. The look of anxiety, nervousness, and desperation was written all over his face.

"Why would I do that?"

As much as I would jump on that opportunity I just couldn't. What if he was messing with me?

Apart of me desperately missed having Blake in my life.

"Well you know our birthday is next week?"

"Yeah, so?"

"Well as usual they will be throwing this huge party for us....... And you know Dad always gets back for my birthday."

I stood looking acknowledging for him to continue.

"I kinda told Dad I had a girlfriend"

"You did What??!!" As far as anyone knows Blake is always single.

I was beyond speechless.

I know his father is always on his back about having a relationship like Drake his older brother, I just didn't know he would lie to please his father.

He always had this thing about Blake needing to settle down and being a good man.

"Well am sorry Blake, there are plenty of girls in the school who are flattered to be your 'girlfriend'" I told him.

"Yeah, but Dad gets back next week and there is no one who knows enough about me to impress my dad"

"Oh, so you chose me" I muttered.

"Exactly"

"What makes you think I'd do that for you?" I crossed my arms.

I watched as he raised an eyebrow as if saying, how dare I challenge him?

He crossed his arm, mimicking my posture.

"I'll tell your father about two years ago"

My heart sank deep. How could he bring something like that up after two years?

"Blake we were sixteen" I whispered yelled.

"So, it gave you no right, I was also a part of that decision too you know", he dropped his arms.

"I can't believe you"

"Don't worry Gem, you can sleep on it" and with that, he left.

What was I going to do?

So now here I am sitting and wondering.

"Gemini dinner is ready" my stepmother yelled from outside my door.

"I'll be down in a minute" I replied.

I wasn't in the mood to eat. Not after what I'm forced to go through.

I sighed got off of my chair and headed out of my room.

Dinner as usual in my house is always noisy, but for some reason, it was quiet today. I think it's because I'm quiet. That's what they always say 'Gem is always the noisy one'

"So Ari, how was school today?" My stepmother Christina asked my younger sister.

"It was OK. I finally got to Choose my lab partner for next term today." She grinned.

"Yeah, who did you choose?" My father asked.

"Hazel, of course, she is the smartest in my class, I wouldn't want to be paired with a slow kid"

Ari was 12, she was always super excited about school. Aries, that was her name.

Don't judge, my parents just had that thing with our zodiac signs. My older brother Leo, you'll never guess when is his birthday?

Then my other younger bitchier sister Capree, yeah we know Capricorn.

She's 15, always moody and annoying.

Leo left last fall for university in New York but is back now for my birthday of course.

"So Gem, anything interesting?" My dad raised an eyebrow.

"No, nothing at all" I stated playing around with the food on my plate.

"Are you sure cause you seem a bit off" Leo added.

"Yeah, I'm fine."

"Typical Gemini" Capree said.

"Who asked you anything metal mouth" I spat.

This caused my other siblings to laugh. She was soon to remove her braces but just not yet.

"Girls stop it," Christina said.

"Who are you to tell me what to do? You're not our mother" I yelled and left the table.

I stormed up to my room, crying my eyes out.

A few moments later there was a knock on my door.

"Who is it?" I sobbed.

"Can I come in?" Leo asked peeking his head through the door.

I started crying harder. Leo immediately came in and hugged me.

"I'm so sorry, I did this to her, and Mom died because of me"

"Gem it's not your fault, everything happens for a reason," Leo said rubbing my back.

"I ruined everything for me and Blake"

"Gemini Elizabeth Wilson, if you don't stop blaming yourself for everything that happened I'm gonna slap the hell out of you" Leo deadpanned.

"I'm sorry"

Suddenly the door flew open.

"Gem Blake is here to see you" Ari practically yelled.

"Now dry those tears" Leo left my room.

Seconds later Siege enters my room, and right now I hate him. He was the cause of all of this.

"Gem, were you crying?" Blake rushed to me.

"Don't touch me" I said through gritted teeth.

"I'm so sorry, I should have never mentioned anything about her" with an apologetic look on his face.

"Well guess what, you did!!"

Looking at Blake the tears just came naturally like they were waiting for him.

He grabbed me in a bone-crushing hug.

"I always imagined her to look like you" I cried into his chest.

"I'm so sorry, I can't imagine the pain you go through alone"

We lay on my bed for what felt like an eternity. Blake sang a few lullaby for me until I fell into a deep slumber.

Blake and I were great friends until one day just changed everything.
