Time for a Timeline Reset

The place was dark, and somehow like a wasteland. It also felt cold since there's no one else in here except for Loki. After all the hard work that he's done to correct the timeline that he messed up, he's finally through. It was a tough one but he managed to do it on his own. Usually, back when they were kids, he and Thor fought the bad guys hand-in-hand because together they were stronger.

But now, he feels like he can also be strong even when he's alone. He knows that Thor also knows that, because at some point in their lives he or Thor will have to fight against the bad guys without the other partner. Heck, they were able to do it during the time that he initiated a battle in downtown Manhattan a few years ago. Although it became a failure on his side, still he was able to fight them alone and only lead an army given to him by the Other.

It was a memory worth coming back for the god of Mischief because he always thinks that it's fun. "If only you're here with me, Thor."

"We're done here, let's go home."

Loki slightly turned to look at the person who just spoke. He saw them leave the place and enter the portal which will bring them home. Although he wanted to stay for a little bit longer, Loki knows that he has to go back. He only has a few more minutes before that portal closes and if he misses it, he's going to wait for it to re-appear.

Just as when Loki was about to leave the place, he turned around and saw the other portals, not just for the different timelines but also for different universes. Others are just pitch black and the silence is deafening. He also saw one where everything is red and burning, screams for help made him feel numb. He is unsure if he's feeling the right emotions.

"It's time to go back Loki," a voice called to him. Making him slightly turn his head to the side.

The portal behind him is his only way home, back to TVA and finally become free from his mission of fixing what he messed up. But there's something in this place that asks him to stay. Suddenly the other portals closed as new ones opened which showed new universes and timelines.

There was a certain portal that caught his attention. He saw the Avengers hand in hand laughing and smiling. They are in a wasteland but that doesn't seem to bother them. He also saw the smile on Thor's face and for some reason it drew him to look closer. As he watched them enjoy themselves, he caught a glimpse of himself and it made him think.

I am alive?

Standing in the same place he was before, he saw how Thor turned to look at him inside of the portal and how he walked over to give him a hug. Just by looking at that he could feel the hug, that same embrace that he had way back when they were kids, wild, strong together, and united.

He almost teared up just by looking at that but when he saw that the portal is slowly vanishing, he made up his mind that if he's going to return to reality, might as well this reality. So as fast as he could he entered the portal before it completely closed.

To his surprise, everything turned pitch black, there's only a light that shines from above him.

And then there were flashes before he saw the familiar fight in Manhattan. He saw himself talking to Tony inside of his tower. After that he tried to use his sceptre in him but because he doesn't have any heart anymore, Loki wasn't able to control Tony.

Instead, he threw him out of the building wherein Tony was able to command Jarvis to deploy a prototype suit for Tony to use. After this, he was hit by Tony seconds before the Tesseract was powered and able to open a portal from space to Earth. Tony saw this and decided to make a preventive move to attack the alien species that are entering the atmosphere of the Earth.

As this was happening, Loki saw himself walk to the edge of the veranda where Tony walked on earlier to take his suit off. Thor suddenly came and called his name, catching his attention. Because of this, Loki -who is watching from outside of the timeline- stepped forward, as if he wanted to stop himself from doing what he was about to.

Because of this, he was pulled in by an unknown force and no matter what he did he couldn't walk away until he was completely swallowed by the timeline.
