Chapter 18

We were all waiting on Lexia's signal. All her friends were knocked out cold behind us. It was freakishly weird how we could tell who was who, without actually knowing them. And we could tell how much they were tortured before being brought here. All of us had the same question in our heads.

'Why is this immortal after a girl like Lexia? And to call her dangerous. Sure she was, but she was more of a teddy bear than a savage monster that these humans and immortal made her out to be. Oh, and when she speaks! No wonder her tongue was cut out. She has quite the comebacks and insults. It was honestly entertaining!'

I was snapped out of my thoughts when someone yelled at everyone to duck and Bren pulled me down because I didn't listen. I looked at him confused and he pointed up. I looked up just to see something black above my head, it passed so quickly that the military warriors didn't understand. But they were soon brutally beheaded. Bodied dropped dead all around us, luckily it was none of our own. Whatever that thing was, it was gone now, and we all stood up. Bren then pointed behind me. I spun and saw the black thing turn back into a scythe in the hands of Lexia. Lexia jumped off the ledge and landed on the ground gracefully. We all clear a path for her and she stands up against this immortal.

"Now that the council isn't involved. I'll deal with you like I should have." It's still weird hearing her voice.

"Is da whittle weaper gonna hit me!" This immortal sounded a lot like tweety from the Looney Toons.

"I'm. Gonna. Rip. You. To. Shreds." She snarled.

"Nah, I'm gonna leave you and your friends here. And well, take over that world over there!"He blew a kiss, jumped through the rift and then it closed

"NO!" lexia screamed in anger.

We all flinched even Lex did. She spun around and looked behind us at her friends. Her face paled; And she ran towards them. We parted for her so she could get through.

She fell to her knees and began to cry because of their state. I knew what to do. I knelt down and put a hand on her shoulder. Then I pulled her crying figure into my lap. As I was rubbing her back trying to sooth her, I heard the most terrifying sound ever and almost screamed. Sure I've heard growls before, but nothing close to this one.

"gEt yOuR fiLtHy pAwS oFF mY mAtE pUp!" Like seriously, he sounded like a demon.

I immediately looked up to see a male. He looked like a male version of Knova, and he was glaring daggers into my head and where I'm touching Lexia. So this is Knox then? I assumed. I let her go slowly and handed her to him. He took her immediately and put his nose in her neck and took a long sniff to calm down. When he looked back up he looked less deadly.

"Who's in charge here?" We all immediately point to Lexia.

This caused Knox to chuckle and nod.

"I'd get up and put her somewhere but I can't. Can one of you?" He surprised us all by asking.

"I will, male version of me!" Knova gushed.

He looked confused and Lex answered him as soon as Knova disappeared with Lexia.

"You're in an alternate universe. And you so happen to bump into the alternate version of yourself—well, you as a female that is."He said

He seems to understand; and nods. "So what's all this Immortal and Lexia drama?" Arin says.

Knox growls and Arin throws his hands up in surrender. Knox sighed and gave in, "He's an immortal who is obsessed with Lexia. He went as far as telling humans about the supernatural world and he brought in rogues, witches, demons, monsters and more supernaturals to back him up. Lexia's a Tox, and is now apparently dangerous. She was ripped from us and thrown in a cell and was not heard from for weeks. Zero went hysterical when she couldn't be found. There was no sign of forced entry or escape. Camera's cut out and went blurry then the cell was empty. And nothing strange happened beforehand. After the cell was searched from top to bottom only evidence was a piece of paper with writing on it, when they checked the camera's again they saw what happened and some old language was said. Sounded creepy, not even the council spoke a word" He trailed off after explaining.

"Then they spoke the words on the paper, and the green abyss opened. They knocked us out and yeah." Another voice says.

The voice belonged to a female. I'm assuming her name is Bree.

The others started to wake up; and they all looked confused and worried. So we gave them a summary on what happened. We also mentioned what happened to Lexia. And let's just say none were happy with what happened to her.

Lexia's POV: I woke up in my room and then the recent events came crashing down on me like a hail storm. I jumped out of bed and headed to where all the voices were loudest. And that is how I found my friends chatting with their other universe selves. When I came in, all chatter stopped.

"Hey, how long have I been out?" I asked.

"A week." Knox says as he gets up.

Knox makes his way over to me, and pulls me into a warm and loving embrace.

"Ready to go home?" Xena says.

"You found a way to open the portal?"

"We've been trying all week. But Zero has found a way to close each opening. So we found how to place the portal in an area we want it to be." I nodded as Xena explained.

I was chatting with my friends from this universe, while my friends from our universe set up everything they needed to activate the portal. Once the portal was opened we waited a few seconds, and when it showed no sign of closing. We deemed it safe to cross through. Before anyone left though, our other world selves handed me a large garbage bag, and I had a feeling I knew what was in it.

"Ready? Thanks for the hospitality guys!" Bree blew them all kisses and skipped through the portal.

" Nice meeting you. Bye guys!" Xena was next to run in the green portal.

Lance, and Zev waved and ran through without a word.

Me and Knox gave the others all hugs then walked hand in hand through the multi-coloured green portal. Of Course with the garbage bag trailing behind us.

Stepping through the portal; we found ourselves standing in the forest surrounding my house. I kicked up my welcome mat and grabbed my keys. Unlocking my door, I stepped into a clean house. Looks like while I was locked up they cleaned up from the invasion. We all headed to the living room, and once in the doorway of the living room everyone froze.

Standing in my living room was the supernatural council. And their gazes all rested on me. And I couldn't help but shiver at their stares. It was now that I realized that this wasn't over. Their gazes went from me to the garbage bag I was dragging. I took a deep breath and was prepared to explain when suddenly I found myself in an all too familiar place.

I was back up in the sky, and the two familiar doors were in view. I also noticed that I still had the garbage bag. Only it was moving and talking. Great, he woke up.

"Greetings reaper and immortal." An all too familiar genderless voice says.

"Hello, how can I help you today?" I asked unsure.

Why was I here? I hadn't reaped any souls yet. Well besides the murder attempt in the garbage bag. But as far as I'm aware he can't die.

"Sure, under normal circumstances. But young reaper; keep in mind that you are now Death. You are no longer mortal, therefore the rules are a lot different for you. So in other words, you have reaped an immortal soul." The voice answered my unasked question.

"But, this reaping is different. Seeing as you reaped an immortal soul; he belongs to neither Hell nor Heaven. He simply belongs to a place known as Abyssus!" It adds.

"So like Purgatory?" I asked.

"The easiest explanation would probably be yes, but with a few differences. Let's just say, he won't be able to bother anyone ever again." The voice simplified.

Not gonna lie, that sounds cool. But it couldn't be if he is being sent there. Guess he's too bad that Hell won't even take him!

Suddenly the garbage bag no longer held him, and instead the immortal was standing twelve feet away from me. The clouds opened up from below him. All I could see from where I was standing was a large, dark, empty pit. And I watched the immortal fall into the pit. Then the clouds moved back and it was covered back up.

"I have a feeling we will be hearing from each other much more often now. What's your name?" I asked.

"Call me God."

THE END
