"What's wrong?" Greyson asked as he turned to Damien.
He was keeping watch of their campfire when Damien woke from his sleep. The commotion woke Archer up too.
"It's Safira, something's wrong. I have to go to her now," he insisted as he prepared to shift into his wolf form and leave.
"Wait! It's too dark, wait till daylight-"
"No! This cannot wait," Damien protested.
He shifted into his wolf form. With the moonlight above as his guiding source of light, he dashed up the mountain road. Archer and Greyson followed suit. They couldn't hear the screams Damien heard, but they went along with him.
Without his sense of smell to guide him to her, Damien relied on his other senses instead. He trusted his gut and the connection he shared with his mate to guide him.
Eventually, they came up to the cave Safira was in.
"She should be in here," Archer pointed out.
