New Beginnings

I open my eyes to see a screen dark as space displaying words in white letters, as soon as my eyes focus in I see:

<Simulation Ended>

"hmmm?"

I wonder what that means. Also, is this what happens after death? Huh, nothingness-

Suddenly my thoughts were interrupted by a large boom, like I was firing large artillery without ear protection saying, "You have been selected by an anonymous god to go to another world rather than letting you choose where you would like to go, because of the Mortal Rights Treaty, you will be given compensation for being transferred to this world, answers for most questions, and a complementary system."

So, this isn't how the afterlife is, well they did say they would answer any question I have so lets start easy, "Then how is it like after you die?"

"Usually, you would have different worlds that you can go to, here you have the choice of where you want to go, the better 'good' deeds you do in your life, the more choices you recieve." The voice responds

Eh? How would they define a 'good' deed, I mean sure, donating 1 Billion currency would make you a 'good' person, but how the hell would everybody be able to do that?

Well, the solution is simple, the definition of a 'good' deed depends on the person.

But now for the very, very important question, "Where am I going to go?"

Suddenly this screen opened up with several pictures, all beautiful, my dreams were shattered once I heard the voice continue, "Do not worry, all of these pictures taken are of different area's of the place you shall be going to."

Out of curiosity, I pick one of the pictures that looked like it was in a heavy alpine region. A window opened up saying that the name of this land was, "Elpeas" and then there was a button reading; "Show more"

I clicked it and then it displayed, "The geography of Elpeas is mainly mountainous, cold, snowy, with the exception of the extreme West side, where there are mountains. On the West side it is extremely dry, like Mogti Desert (The driest desert in his former world). To combat these high altitudes, the people of this realm tend to be tall and lean, the average height is about 7 feet. You must select this realm as your spawn point for more information."

Before clicking it, I read 8 more realms and the system told me that these were Known Realms, in summary, that just means that they were the settled realms.

"So what about the Unknown Realms?" I inquired.

"This information is not needed for you to get comfortable with your surroundings before being brought there, so system doesn't need to tell you" Darn... what a mean system. [Every good book has a crappy system, try me, name 3 good systems in Isekai books.]

The one that really attracted me though was the continent of Hou, its description reads, "Hou is a relatively green country with few mountains while being hilly. The culture of this Realm is different from any other Realm due to their isolationist practices. Even due to modern advances towards different technology and weapons, the people here ignore these changes, or don't even know. Sticking to the lifestyle of the sword and bow. You must select this realm as your spawn point for more information."

I really liked this place because it made me think about It Mao, the stories I read when I was a little kid.

After I select it, it also asks me for a name fitting this region, after some consideration, I let the system generate a name for me, as I suspected, it was horrendous, "Cao Lezhi".

Shrugging, I change the name a little to, "Cao Tai" don't ask me why.

After pressing 'Select Name' the system says, "Are you ready to spawn?"

"Anything I should know before I go to the world?"

The system doesn't respond, I guess it isn't made for commands like that.

"How do I travel in between realms?"

"You can travel in between Known Realms in several ways, but the three most common are the following, Public Transportation, Private Transportation, and Water Ways. Public Transportation is found in most large areas where there are many inhabitants, but is not practical if you are a fugitive or are trying to go incognito, for they record your name in the Records, which can be easily accessed. Fortunately this transportation is free. Option 2, Private Transportation, which is laid by major families who have businesses outside their own realms, this type of transportation is Incognito, usually, and is almost never free, there is a blood price or a currency price depending on who laid it. There is one major risk that poses a problem though, sometimes an issue happens and you may end up transported to a Unknown Realm, this kind of problem has changed over time though, due to advancements in Transportation Magic. The third and most risky option, Water Ways, this option is probably the safest if you want to avoid people, since nobody uses this type of transportation because of other risks, the largest is that ocean water can cause people to rapidly age, causing them to die, people believe that staying in the water for 1 minute will make you age a year."

"WHAT!?!!? What is wrong with the ocean water here?!?!"

"System cannot tell you"

Darn systems... I hope I'm not stuck with this one when I spawn.

"How can I travel through Unknown Realms?"

"You can use Private Transportation or Water Ways."

Ok that makes sense, because if there was Public Transportation, it would be a Known Realm.

Well I guess I should spawn now or I'll probably run into something else that would make me not want to go.

"One more thing before you spawn, you can do some minor changes on your body, or get a random skill and a random minor bloodline"

I decide that I will just spawn, since I would only do some major changes of me and my physique, also that bloodline seems like it may be cool.

I press the 'Spawn' and suddenly I'm knocked out.
