Chapter One
Page 10- _Catastrophe of decisions_
Her flecked eyes mirrored Keisuke as he fancied out of their black limo. Most of the time, she'd see him on foot when coming to school, and he had said it himself," l hate showing off". The minute his shiny right shoe stepped on the pavement, girls went berserk in dazzled chattersm. It was as though a musician was dropping by an ordinary school. Unlike most people, what came to Rin's mind wasn't the present thing happening. She swam deep in a pile of old memories which made her face crease into a frown even more. Hurriedly catching up to Aigasaki and ready to go, a white limo pulled over the school gate as well. A rich competition had begun, or so were thoughts driven in each person's mind. From the limo came out Takahiro, whose glamourous shoes sparkled and face brimmed with shininess. In the brisk moment, the fact of Koniaki being a school for the rich had been forgotten and stomped right in the dust, while more and more girl shouts spread making a fuss. Unfortunately Rin wasn't a fan of noise so she swiftly took hold of Aigasaki's hand and pulled her to class. More and more Keisuke looked as though he was glamorizing a glitzy show, pissing off _Little miss genius_. Prior to his actions, she came to a harsh realization.
Although she still longed for a friendship with Keisuke, to him, she had become a total stranger. The first period bell rang and the two stars of popularity entered class followed by panting. They were probably tired of running from countless groups of girls. Without really noticing the day ended sheathed in a clear warm sunset. Rintaro went to her locker to retrieve her home shoes. There she saw the sight of a lonely Takahiro who looked fatigued from sprinting and hiding the whole day. At first their eyes met and an awkard silence crept through the lockers to the walls, until Rin pass-trailed a conversation asking the reason behind yesterday's dash from home.
Rintarõ.... _Uh..umm, i was wondering where you went yesterday, i mean when you suddenly left my house._
Takahiro.... _A call about my mom collasping came up. Whe...._ *cut off*
Rintarõ.... _Oh no i'm so sorry, is she okay?._
Takahiro..... _Don't be, she's so okay. When i arrived she wasn't hurt at all, actually i was angry. Turns out my big brother was pulling a prank on me, this time he went so far as to using my mom._
Both Rin and Takahiro burst in tears as they chortled at the one thing they shared in common. "I hate big brothers who always pull pranks, Argh!!," they hissed, both pulling out evil grins while cursing their brothers. After a while of laughing and almost choking, Rin decided to tell Takahiro the answer to his feelings and much was the anticipation he had to listen. ''I can't return your feelings for me," she announced, so outright and blunt."
Takahiro.... _It's okay, but i won't give up either!_
He buried his face under shiny white teeth and jolly good cheeks. Though standing fine , his face collected a pale and wistful expression. Since Takahiro wasn't going with his family car, they walked home with hovering air inept at words. In a twinkle, sudden rain poured down clasping a cold air, but luckily Rin had brought an umbrella after checking the weather updates. She walked with a smile on her face, but deep down she was conflicted about the decision she had made. "Is this what my heart desires?," she thoughtfully questioned herself. A few steps later, Takahiro thread a smile and a goodbye as they went their separate ways. His face was clearly sad because of Rin's answer. She stood for a moment and started talking to herself.
Rintarõ.... _Have i done the right thing?. Is this really what i want?._
Doubts flung around her decision. Was breaking someone's heart what she should have done? Cranked to a halt, she told herself, " I'll figure it out as time goes on, let me enjoy this peace while it lasts", and continued walking home.
